"بعثنى الله بالإسلام, أن تقول: أسلمت نفسي لله, ووجهت وجهى إليه, وتخليت, وتقيم الصلاة, وتؤتى الزكاة, كل مسلم على مسلم محرم, أخوان نصيران, لا يقبل الله من مسلم أشرك بعدما أسلم عملًا حتى يفارق المشركين إلى المسلمين ما لي آخذ بحجزكم عن النار, ألا وإن ربى داعِي, ألا وإنه سائلى, هل بلغت عبادى؟ وإني قائل: رب قد أبلغتهم, فليبلغ شاهدكم غائبكم, ثم إنكم تدعون مُفَدَّمة أفواهكم بالفدام, ثم أول ما يُبن عن أحدكم فخذه, وكفه, هذا دينكم, وأينما تكن يكفك".

[Machine] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I swear by Allah I have not come to you until I have taken more oaths than anyone else and I have struck one hand on the other that I will not come to you nor embrace your religion. Indeed, I have come as someone who does not understand anything except what Allah and His Messenger have taught me. And I ask you by the face of Allah, with what did our Lord send you to us?" He said, "He sent me with Islam." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is the sign of Islam?" He said, "To say: 'I have submitted my face to Allah,' and to forsake and establish prayer, give zakah, and consider every Muslim as a brother. Every Muslim is inviolable to another Muslim; his blood, his wealth, and his honor. Allah does not accept from a polytheist who becomes a Muslim any deed he performed before embracing Islam, or his separating from the polytheists to the Muslims. Should I not keep you from the Fire, O Muslims? Verily, my Lord invites and asks, 'Have you conveyed my message to my servants?' I will say, 'O Lord, indeed I have conveyed it to them.' So let the present inform the absent among you. And indeed, you are summoned and the front rows of your mouths are dusted with smoke. The first thing to be judged will be the dispute." And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said while holding his hand on his thigh, "I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, this is our religion.' He said, 'This is your religion, and wherever you excel, it will be sufficient for you.'"

أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَاللهِ مَا أَتَيْتُكَ حَتَّى حَلَفْتُ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ عَدَدِ أُولَاءِ وَضَرَبَ إِحْدَى يَدَيْهِ عَلَى الْأُخْرَى أَنْ لَا آتِيَكَ وَلَا آتِيَ دِينَكَ وَإِنِّي قَدْ جِئْتُ امْرَأً لَا أَعْقِلُ شَيْئًا إِلَّا مَا عَلَّمَنِي اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَإِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِوَجْهِاللهِ بِمَ بَعَثَكَ رَبُّنَا إِلَيْنَا؟ قَالَ بِالْإِسْلَامِ قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَمَا آيَةُ الْإِسْلَامِ؟ قَالَ أَنْ تَقُولَ أَسْلَمْتُ وَجْهِيَ لِلَّهِ وَتَخَلَّيْتُ وَتُقِيمَ الصَّلَاةَ وَتُؤْتِيَ الزَّكَاةَ وَكُلُّ مُسْلِمٍ عَلَى مُسْلِمٍ مُحَرَّمٌ أَخَوَانِ نَصِيرَانِ لَا يَقْبَلُ اللهُ مِنْ مُشْرِكٍ يُشْرِكُ بَعْدَمَا أَسْلَمَ عَمَلًا أَوْ يُفَارِقُ الْمُشْرِكِينَ إِلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ مَا لِي أُمْسِكُ بِحُجَزِكُمْ عَنِ النَّارِ أَلَا إِنَّ رَبِّي دَاعِيَّ وَإِنَّهُ سَائِلِي هَلْ بَلَّغْتَ عِبَادِي؟ وَأَنَا قَائِلٌ لَهُ رَبِّ قَدْ بَلَّغْتُهُمْ أَلَا فَلْيُبَلِّغِ الشَّاهِدُ مِنْكُمُ الْغَائِبَ ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ مَدْعُوُّونَ وَمُفَدَّمَةٌ أَفْوَاهُكُمْ بِالْفِدَامِ وَإِنَّ أَوَّلَ مَا يُبِينُ وَقَالَ بِوَاسِطٍ يُتَرْجِمُ قَالَ وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِيَدِهِ عَلَى فَخِذِهِ قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ هَذَا دِينُنَا قَالَ هَذَا دِينُكُمْ وَأَيْنَمَا تُحْسِنْ يَكْفِكَ

[Machine] I came to the Prophet ﷺ when I came to him, and I said, "By Allah, I did not come to you until I swore that I would not come to you or come to your religion more than the number of those who do not come to you, and Bahz (an idol) gathered between his hands. And I came as a person who does not understand anything except what Allah and His Messenger taught me. I ask you by the face of Allah, with what did Allah send you to us?" He said, "With Islam." I said, "And what are the signs of Islam?" He said, "To declare that I have submitted my face to Allah, to forsake and establish prayer, and to give zakah. Every Muslim to another Muslim is inviolable, and they are both helpers against others. Allah does not accept any action from a polytheist after he has embraced Islam, and he separates from polytheists to Muslims. What prevents me from seizing you and keeping you away from the fire? Behold, my Lord calls and asks, 'Have you conveyed my message to my servants?' And I say, 'My Lord, I have conveyed it to them.' So let the one who is present among you convey it to the absent. Then you are called to account, and your mouths will be sealed with the pebbles. Then the first thing that will be revealed about one of you is his thigh and his palm." I said, "O Prophet of Allah, is this our religion?" He said, "This is your religion, and wherever you excel, it is sufficient for you."  

أحمد:٢٠٠٤٣حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَخْبَرَنَا بَهْزُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ حِينَ أَتَيْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ وَاللهِ مَا أَتَيْتُكَ حَتَّى حَلَفْتُ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ عَدَدِ أُولَاءِ أَنْ لَا آتِيَكَ وَلَا آتِيَ دِينَكَ وَجَمَعَ بَهْزٌ بَيْنَ كَفَّيْهِ وَقَدْ جِئْتُ امْرَأً لَا أَعْقِلُ شَيْئًا إِلَّا مَا عَلَّمَنِي اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَإِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِوَجْهِ اللهِ بِمَ بَعَثَكَ اللهُ إِلَيْنَا؟ قَالَ بِالْإِسْلَامِ قُلْتُ وَمَا آيَاتُ الْإِسْلَامِ؟ قَالَ أَنْ تَقُولَ أَسْلَمْتُ وَجْهِيَ لِلَّهِ وَتَخَلَّيْتُ وَتُقِيمَ الصَّلَاةَ وَتُؤْتِيَ الزَّكَاةَ كُلُّ مُسْلِمٍ عَلَى مُسْلِمٍ مُحَرَّمٌ أَخَوَانِ نَصِيرَانِ لَا يَقْبَلُ اللهُ مِنْ مُشْرِكٍ أَشْرَكَ بَعْدَمَا أَسْلَمَ عَمَلًا وَتُفَارِقَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ إِلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ مَا لِي أُمْسِكُ بِحُجَزِكُمْ عَنِ النَّارِ؟ أَلَا إِنَّ رَبِّي دَاعِيَّ وَإِنَّهُ سَائِلِي هَلْ بَلَّغْتُ عِبَادَهُ؟ وَإِنِّي قَائِلٌ رَبِّ إِنِّي قَدْ بَلَّغْتُهُمْ فَلْيُبَلِّغِ الشَّاهِدُ مِنْكُمُ الْغَائِبَ ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ مَدْعُوُّونَ مُفَدَّمَةً أَفْوَاهُكُمْ بِالْفِدَامِ ثُمَّ إِنَّ أَوَّلَ مَا يُبِينُ عَنْ أَحَدِكُمْ لَفَخِذُهُ وَكَفُّهُ قُلْتُ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ هَذَا دِينُنَا؟ قَالَ هَذَا دِينُكُمْ وَأَيْنَمَا تُحْسِنْ يَكْفِكَ

[Machine] I visited the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Prophet of Allah, I have come to you after leaving many of those who are comparable to both hands (a large number) and I have not come to embrace your religion or to come to you (for personal gain), despite the fact that I am a person who does not understand anything except what Allah and His Messenger have taught me. Thus, I ask you by the face of Allah, what is the reason for the sending of our Lord?" He ﷺ said, "To embrace Islam." I then asked, "O Prophet of Allah, what is the sign of Islam?" He replied, "To say, 'I have submitted my face to Allah,' establish prayer and give charity. Every Muslim for his brother is sacred, his blood, property, and honor. Two Muslims are like two hands that intertwine, and Allah does not accept any belief in partnership with Him after a person has embraced Islam, until he disassociates himself from polytheists and joins the Muslims. My wealth is a pledge for your protection from the Hellfire, beware! Indeed, my Lord calls, and I ask, 'Have you conveyed my message to your people?' And I say, 'O Lord, I have conveyed it to them all, so let the witness who is present among them convey it to the absent ones.' Then, surely, you will be called from the front rows of your mouths with a loud voice. The first thing to be exposed will be the thigh and the palm of your hand." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, this is our religion. Where can I find goodness in your palm?"  

الحاكم:٨٧٧٤أَخْبَرْنَاهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَلْمَانَ الْفَقِيهُ بِبَغْدَادَ قَالَ قُرِئَ عَلَى يَحْيَى بْنِ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ الزِّبْرِقَانِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ ثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ ثَنَا بَهْزُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ مَا أَتَيْتُكَ حَتَّى خَلَّفْتُ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ هَؤُلَاءِ يَعْنِي الْكَفَّيْنِ جَمِيعًا وَلَا آتِي دِينَكَ وَلَا آتِيكَ وَقَدْ كُنْتُ امْرَأً لَا أَعْقِلُ شَيْئًا إِلَّا مَا عَلَّمَنِي اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ فَإِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِوَجْهِ اللَّهِ بِمَ بَعَثَكَ رَبُّنَا؟ قَالَ «بِالْإِسْلَامِ» قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ وَمَا آيَةُ الْإِسْلَامِ؟ قَالَ أَنْ تَقُولَ أَسْلَمْتُ وَجْهِي لِلَّهِ وَتُقِيمُ الصَّلَاةَ وَتُؤْتِي الزَّكَاةَ كُلُّ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ مُحَرَّمٌ إِخْوَانٌ يَصِيرَانِ لَا يَقْبَلُ اللَّهُ مِنْ مُسْلِمٍ أَشْرَكَ بَعْدَمَا أَسْلَمَ عَمَلًا حَتَّى يُفَارِقَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ إِلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ مَالِي آخُذُ بِحُجَزِكُمْ عَنِ النَّارِ أَلَا وَإِنَّ رَبِّي دَاعِيَّ أَلَا وَإِنَّهُ سَائِلِي هَلْ بَلَّغْتَ عِبَادِي؟ وَإِنِّي قَائِلٌ رَبِّ قَدْ أَبْلَغْتُهُمْ فَلْيُبَلِّغْ شَاهِدُكُمْ غَائِبَكُمْ ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ تُدْعَوْنَ مُقَدِّمَةُ أَفْوَاهِكُمْ بِالْفِدَامِ ثُمَّ أَوَّلُ مَا يَبِينُ أَحَدَكُمْ لَفَخِذُهُ وَكَفُّهُ قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَذَا دِينُنَا وَأَيْنَ مَا تُحْسِنُ بِكَفِّكَ؟

[Machine] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "By Allah, I did not come to you until I swore by the number of my fingers that I will not follow you nor follow your religion, and I came to a person who does not understand anything except what Allah ﷻ and His Messenger ﷺ taught me. And I ask you, by Allah, with what did your Lord send you to us?" He said, "Sit down." Then he said, "With Islam." So I said, "And what is the sign of Islam?" He said, "To bear witness that there is no deity but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, to establish prayer, to give zakat, to separate oneself from polytheism, and indeed, every Muslim is a sacred brother of another Muslim, and it is forbidden for a Muslim to shed the blood of another Muslim except in cases of capital punishment. Does Allah's call reach His servants? So let your absent ones convey to your present ones. Indeed, you are being called upon loudly with fury. So, the first thing that will be asked about each of you is his obligation and his kinship." So I said, "O Messenger of Allah, is this our religion?" He said, "Yes, for you will be resurrected on your faces, feet, and legs."  

الطبراني:١٧٠٨٠حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ بَهْزِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ

أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ وَاللهِ مَا جِئْتُكَ حَتَّى حَلَفْتُ بِعَدَدِ أَصَابِعِي هَذِهِ أَنْ لَا أَتَّبِعَكَ وَلَا أَتَّبِعَ دِينَكَ وَإِنِّي أَتَيْتُ امْرَءًا لَا أَعْقِلُ شَيْئًا إِلَّا مَا عَلِّمْنِي اللهُ ﷻ وَرَسُولُهُ ﷺ وَإِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِاللهِ بِمَ بَعَثَكَ رَبُّكَ إِلَيْنَا؟ قَالَ «اجْلِسْ» ثُمَّ قَالَ «بِالْإِسْلَامِ» فَقُلْتُ وَمَا آيَةُ الْإِسْلَامِ؟ قَالَ «تَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَتُقِيمُ الصَّلَاةَ وَتُؤْتِي الزَّكَاةَ وَتُفَارِقُ الشِّرْكَ وَإِنَّ كُلَّ مُسْلِمٍ عَلَى مُسْلِمٍ مُحَرَّمٌ أَخَوَانِ نَصِيرَانِ لَا يَقْبَلُ اللهُ مِنْ مُشْرِكٍ أَشْرَكَ مِنْ بَعْدِ إِسْلَامِهِ عَمَلًا وَإِنَّ رَبِّي دَاعِيَّ وَسَائِلِي هَلْ بَلَغَتُ عِبَادَهُ؟ فَلْيُبَلِّغْ شَاهِدُكُمْ غَائِبَكُمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ تُدْعَوْنَ مُفْدَمٌ عَلَى أَفْوَاهِكُمْ بِالْفِدَامِ فَأَوَّلُ مَا يُسْأَلُ عَنْ أَحَدِكُمْ فَخِذُهُ وَكَفُّهُ» فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَهَذَا دِينُنَا؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ فَإِنَّمَا تُحْشَرُونَ عَلَى وُجُوهِكُمْ وَعَلَى أَقْدَامِكُمْ وَرُكْبَانًا»

"I said: 'O Prophet of Allah! I did not come to you until I had sworn more that this many times' - the number of fingers on his hands - 'that I would never come to you or follow your religion. I am a man who does not know anything except that which Allah and His Messenger teach me. I ask you by the face of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, with what has your Lord sent you to us? He said: 'With Islam.' I said: What are the signs of Islam? He said; To say: I submit my face to Allah and give up Shirk, and, to establish the Salah and to pay Zakah. Each Muslim is sacred and inviolable to his fellow Muslim; they support one another. Allah does not accept my deed from an idolater after he becomes a Muslim, until he departs from the idolaters and joins the Muslims."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2568)

"عَنْ بَهْزِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، قَالَ: أَتَيْتُ النَّبِىَّ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ: مَا جِئْتُكَ حَتَّى حَلَفْتُ عَدَدَ أَصَابِعِى هَذه أَنْ لَا أَتَّبِعَكَ، وَلَا أَتَّبِعَ دِينَكَ، وَإنِّى أَتَيْتُ أمْرًا لا أَفْعَلُ شَيْئًا إِلَّا مَا عَلَّمَنِى اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَإِنِّى أَسْأَلُكَ بِاللهِ: بِمَ بَعثَكَ رَبُّكَ إِلَيْنَا؟ قَالَ: اجْلِسْ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: بِالإسْلَامِ، فَقُلْتُ: وَمَا آيَةُ الإِسْلَامِ، قَالَ: تَشَهَدُ أَنْ لا إِلَهَ إِلا اللهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ، وَتُقيمُ الصَّلاةَ، وَتُؤْتِى الزَّكَاةَ، وَتُفَارِقُ الْمُشْرِكَ، وَإِنَّ كُلَّ مُسْلِمٍ عَلَى كُلَّ مُسْلِمٍ حَرَامٌ، أَخَوَانِ نَصِيرَان، لا يَقْبَلُ اللهُ مِنْ مُشْرِكٍ أَشْرَكَ مَعَهُ إِسْلَامَهُ عَمَلًا، وَإِنَّ رَبِّى دَاعِىَّ فَسَائِلى، هَلْ بَلَّغْتَ عِبَادِى؟ فَلْيُبَلِّغْ شَاهِدُكُمْ غَائِبَكُمْ، وَإِنَّكُمْ تُدْعَوْنَ مُفَدَّمًا (* *) عَلَى أَفْوَاهِكُمْ بِالفِدَامِ، فَأَوَّلُ مَا يُسْأَلُ عَنْ أَحَدِكُمْ فَخِذُهُ وَكَفُّهُ، قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، فَهَذَا دِيِنُنَا؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ: وَأيُّنَا تُحْسِنْ يَكْفِكَ (* * *)، وَإِنَّكُمْ تُحْشَرُونَ عَلَى وُجُوهِكُمْ وَعَلَى أَقْدَامِكُمْ وَرُكْبَانًا".
