"I came to the Messenger of Allah from a journey and he said: 'Stay and have a meal to break the fast, O Abu Umayyah.' I said: 'I am fasting.' He said: 'Come close to me and I will tell you about the traveler. Allah, the mighty and sublime, has waived fasting and half of the prayer for him."'

قَدِمْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِنْ سَفَرٍ فَقَالَ انْتَظِرِ الْغَدَاءَ يَا أَبَا أُمَيَّةَ فَقُلْتُ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ فَقَالَ تَعَالَ ادْنُ مِنِّي حَتَّى أُخْبِرَكَ عَنِ الْمُسَافِرِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ ﷻ وَضَعَ عَنْهُ الصِّيَامَ وَنِصْفَ الصَّلاَةِ

"I came to the Messenger of Allah from a journey and greeted him with Salam. When I was going to leave he said: 'Stay and have meal for breakfast, O Abu Umayyah.' I said: 'I am fasting, O Prophet of Allah.' He said: 'Come and I will tell about the traveler. Allah, most high, has waived fasting and of the prayer for him."'

قَدِمْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِنْ سَفَرٍ فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَلَمَّا ذَهَبْتُ لأَخْرُجَ قَالَ انْتَظِرِ الْغَدَاءَ يَا أَبَا أُمَيَّةَ قُلْتُ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ قَالَ تَعَالَ أُخْبِرْكَ عَنِ الْمُسَافِرِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى وَضَعَ عَنْهُ الصِّيَامَ وَنِصْفَ الصَّلاَةِ

he came to the Messenger of Allah from a journey and he said: "Come and have a meal for breakfast, O Abu Umayyah." I said: 'I am fasting; He said: 'Come close and I will tell you about the traveler. Allah, most high, has waived fasting and half of the prayer for him."'

أَنَّهُ قَدِمَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِنْ سَفَرٍ فَقَالَ انْتَظِرِ الْغَدَاءَ يَا أَبَا أُمَيَّةَ قُلْتُ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ قَالَ ادْنُ أُخْبِرْكَ عَنِ الْمُسَافِرِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَضَعَ عَنْهُ الصِّيَامَ وَنِصْفَ الصَّلاَةِ

he came to the Messenger of Allah from a journey and he was fasting. The Messenger of Allah said to him, "Won't you come and have meal for the breakfast?" He said: "I am fasting." The Messenger of Allah said: "Come and I will tell you about fasting. Allah, the mighty and sublime, has waived fasting and half of the prayer from the traveler."

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ أَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِنْ سَفَرٍ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَلاَ تَنْتَظِرِ الْغَدَاءَ قَالَ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ تَعَالَ أُخْبِرْكَ عَنِ الصِّيَامِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ ﷻ وَضَعَ عَنِ الْمُسَافِرِ الصِّيَامَ وَنِصْفَ الصَّلاَةِ

قَدِمْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِنْ سَفَرٍ فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَلَمَّا ذَهَبْتُ لِأَخْرُجَ قَالَ «انْتَظِرِ الْغَدَاءَ يَا أَبَا أُمَيَّةَ» قَالَ فَقُلْتُ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ «تَعَالَ أُخْبِرْكَ عَنِ الْمُسَافِرِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَضَعَ عَنْهُ الصِّيَامَ وَنِصْفَ الصَّلَاةِ» قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّد «إِنْ شَاءَ صَامَ وَإِنْ شَاءَ أَفْطَرَ»

[Machine] I came to the Prophet ﷺ after a journey, and he said to me, "Have your meal." So I said, "Indeed, I am fasting." He then said, "Should I not inform you about the traveler? Verily, Allah has exempted him from fasting and half of the prayers."

قَدِمْتُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مِنْ سَفَرٍ فَقَالَ لِيَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «تَغَدَّ» فَقُلْتُ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ وَقَالَ «أَلَا أُخْبِرُكَ عَنِ الْمُسَافِرِ إِنَّ اللهَ وَضَعَ عَنْهُ الصَّوْمَ وَنِصْفَ الصَّلَاةِ»

[Machine] I came to the Prophet ﷺ after a journey, and when he wanted to eat, I got up to leave. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Why don't you have lunch?" I said, "I am fasting." He said, "Shouldn't I inform you about the ruling for a traveler? Indeed, Allah has exempted him from fasting and half of the prayers."

قَدِمْتُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مِنْ سَفَرٍ فَلَمَّا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَأْكُلَ رَجَعْتُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَلَا تَغَدَّى» قُلْتُ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ قَالَ «أَلَا أُخْبِرُكَ عَنِ الْمُسَافِرِ إِنَّ اللهَ وَضَعَ عَنْهُ الصَّوْمَ وَنِصْفَ الصَّلَاةِ»

"I came to the Messenger of Allah and the Messenger of Allah said to me: 'Stay and have a meal for breakfast, O Abu Umayyah.' I said: I am fasting.' He said: 'Come and I will tell you about the traveler. Allah has waived meaning the fasting and half the prayer for him."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2268)

قَدِمِتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَلَا تَنْتَظِرُ الْغَدَاءَ يَا أَبَا أُمَيَّةَ؟» قُلْتُ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ قَالَ «تَعَالَ أُخْبِرْكَ عَنِ الْمُسَافِرِ إِنَّ اللهَ وَضَعَ عَنْهُ» يَعْنِي الصِّيَامَ وَنِصْفَ الصَّلَاةِ

[Machine] "He (someone) came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from a journey and said, 'Wait for lunch, O Abu Umayyah.' I said, 'I am fasting.' He said, 'Then I inform you about the traveler, that Allah has exempted him from fasting and half of the prayer.' Abu Abdullah said, 'And this is a mistake in his saying that Abu Umayyah informed them.' This statement itself is a mistake."

أَنَّهُ قَدِمَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْ سَفَرٍ فَقَالَ «انْتَظِرِ الْغَدَاءَ يَا أَبَا أُمَيَّةَ» قُلْتُ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ قَالَ «إِذًا أُخْبِرُكَ عَنِ الْمُسَافِرِ إِنَّ اللهَ وَضَعَ عَنْهُ الصِّيَامَ وَنِصْفَ الصَّلَاةِ» قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَهَذَا خَطَأٌ قَوْلُهُ «أَنَّ أَبَا أُمَيَّةَ حَدَّثَهُمْ» خَطَأٌ هَذَا الْقَوْلُ نَفْسُهُ

"ألا أُخْبُركَ عن المسافِر؟ إِنَّ اللَّه تعالى وَضَعَ عنه الصيام ونصف الصَّلَاةِ".

"عَنْ جعْفَرِ بْنِ عمرو بْنِ أُمَّية الضُّمَرِى عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: قَدِمْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ الله ﷺ مِنْ سَفَرٍ فَقَالَ: تَعَالَ أُخْبِرْكَ عَنِ المسَافِرِ، إِنَّ الله وَضَعَ عَنْهُ الصيَامَ ونِصْفَ الصَّلَاةِ".
