"Aishah may Allah (SWT) be pleased with her, said: ' When the last ten nights of Ramadan began, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stayed up at night (for prayer) and he woke his family up and tightened his waist-wrap.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1639)

The Prophet ﷺ had heightened devotion during the final ten nights of Ramadan

With the start of the last ten days of Ramadan, the Prophet ﷺ used to tighten his waist belt (i.e. work hard) and used to pray all the night, and used to keep his family awake for the prayers.

'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that when the last ten nights began Messenger of Allah ﷺ kept awake at night (for prayer and devotion), wakened his family, and prepared himself to observe prayer (with more vigour).

When the last ten days of Ramadan came, the Prophet ﷺ kept vigil and prayed during the whole night, and tied the wrapper tightly, and awakened his family (to pray during the night). Abu Dawud said: The name of Abu Ya'fur is 'Abd al-Rahman b. 'Ubaid b. Nistas.
