[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There are four practices from the era of ignorance that should not be left behind: boasting in lineages, insulting one's ancestry, seeking rain through the stars, and wailing and lamenting over the deceased when they do not repent before their death. On the Day of Judgment, a garment made of tar or a coat made of scab will be worn by those who continue to engage in these practices."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَرْبَعٌ مِنَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ لَا يُتْرَكُنَّ الْفَخْرُ فِي الْأَحْسَابِ وَالطَّعْنُ فِي الْأَنْسَابِ وَالِاسْتِسْقَاءُ بِالنُّجُومِ وَالنِّيَاحَةُ وَالنَّائِحَةُ إِذَا لَمْ تَتُبْ قَبْلَ مَوْتِهَا تُقَامُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَعَلَيْهَا سِرْبَالٌ مِنْ قَطِرَانٍ أَوْ دِرْعٌ مِنْ جَرَبٍ  

[Machine] Abu Malik, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed, in my Ummah there are four practices of Jahiliyyah (pre-Islamic ignorance) that they do not abandon: pride in lineage, seeking rain through the stars, and wailing over the dead. And if the one who wails does not repent before they die, they will be resurrected on the Day of Judgment wearing garments made of tar, and then a shield of flames will be placed upon them."  

أَبُو مَالِكٍ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ فِي أُمَّتِي أَرْبَعًا مِنَ أَمْرِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ لَيْسُوا بِتَارِكِيهِنَّ الْفَخْرُ بِالْأَحْسَابِ وَالِاسْتِسْقَاءُبِالنُّجُومِ وَالنِّيَاحَةُ عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ فَإِنَّ النَّائِحَةَ إِنْ لَمْ تَتُبْ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَمُوتَ فَإِنَّهَا تَقُومُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَلَيْهَا سَرَابِيلُ مِنْ قَطِرَانٍ ثُمَّ يُعَلُّ عَلَيْهَا دِرْعٌ مِنْ لَهَبِ النَّارِ  

Among my people there are four characteristics belonging to pre-Islamic period which they do not abandon: boasting of high rank, reviling other peoples' genealogies, seeking rain by stars, and walling. And he (further) said: If the wailing woman does not repent before she dies, she will be made to stand on the Day of Resurrection wearing a garment of pitch and a chemise of mange. [Machine] Abu Malik Al-Ash'ari, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, in my Ummah (community) there are four aspects of the pre-Islamic era (Ignorance) that they will not abandon: boasting in lineage, ridiculing one's ancestry, seeking rain by the stars, and wailing over the deceased. Indeed, if the wailing woman does not repent before she dies, she will be resurrected on the Day of Judgment wearing garments of molten tar, and boiling will be poured on them from the flames of Hell."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There are four practices from the pre-Islamic era that will remain in my Ummah (nation/community), which they will not abandon: pride in one's genealogy, slandering others with regard to their lineage, seeking rain through stars, and wailing over the dead. And indeed, the wailing woman who does not repent before her death will come on the Day of Judgment with garments made of pitch and a shield made of fire." Then 'Umar ibn al-Khattab said, "We left wailing when we abandoned worshiping Al-Lat and al-'Uzza."

"إِنَّ في أُمَّتِى أَربَعًا من أَمر الجاهلية، ليسوا بتَاركيهنَّ، الفَخْرُ بالأَحسابِ، والطعنُ في الأَنسابِ، والاستسقاءُ بالنجوم، والنياحَةُ على الميتِ".  

"أربَعٌ في أُمَّتِى مِنْ أمر الجاهليةِ. لا يتْرُكونَهُنَّ. الفخرُ في الأحساب، والطَّعنُ في الأنسابِ، والاستسقاءُ بالنجومِ، والنياحةُ ".
