Umm Habiba b. Jahsh who was the spouse of Abd al- Rahman b. Auf made a complaint to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about blood (which flows beyond the menstrual period). He said to her: Remain away (from prayer) equal (to the length of time) that your menstruation holds you back. After this, bathe yourself. And she washed herself before every prayer.

[Machine] Aisha, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ , said, "Um Habiba bint Jahsh, who was under the guardianship of Abdur Rahman bin Auf, came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ complaining of bleeding. He told her to wait as long as she used to observe her menstrual period, then perform ablution. She used to perform ablution for every prayer."

[Machine] Indeed, Umm Habibah bint Jahsh, who was under the care of Abdur Rahman ibn Auf, complained to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about bleeding. He told her to wait as long as her menstruation used to detain her, then perform ablution. Thus, she would perform ablution after every prayer from her own accord. These two authentic narrations clarify that the Prophet ﷺ did not command her to perform ablution after every prayer, rather she did it on her own. So, how can the command to perform ablution after every prayer be confirmed from the hadith of Urwah?
