45.10 The Prohibition Of Wronging, Forsaking, Or Despising A Muslim And The Inviolability Of His Blood, Honor And Wealth

Everything of a Muslim is inviolable to another Muslim

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Do not envy one another, do not bid against one another ˹to raise the price˺, do not hold grudges for another, do not turn your backs on one another, and do not sell over one another’s sale. Be servants of Allah as brothers. A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim: he does not wrong him, nor abandon him, nor despise him.”

“Piety is here,” and he pointed to his chest three times. “It is enough evil for a person to despise his Muslim brother. Everything of a Muslim is inviolable to another Muslim: his blood, his wealth, and his honor.”

What is inside one's heart is what matters

muslim:2564bAbū al-Ṭāhir Aḥmad b. ʿAmr b. Sarḥ > Ibn Wahb > Usāmah Wahū Ibn Zayd > Abū Saʿīd a freed slave of ʿAbdullāh b. ʿĀmir b. Kurayz > Abū Hurayrah

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, and he mentioned something similar to the hadith of Dawud, adding and omitting. Among what he added in it was: “Indeed, Allah does not look at your bodies nor at your forms, but rather He looks at your hearts,” and he gestured with his fingers toward his chest.

muslim:2564cʿAmr al-Nāqid > Kathīr b. Hishām > Jaʿfar b. Burqān > Yazīd b. al-Aṣam > Abū Hurayrah

Verily Allah does not look to your faces and your wealth but He looks to your heart and to your deeds.
