[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "Prophet Solomon ﷺ used to see a plant growing in front of him when he stood in prayer, and he would ask it, 'What is your name?' And it would reply, 'Such and such.' Then he would ask it, 'What are you for?' And it would reply, 'For this and that,' whether it was for medicine or for planting. One day, while in prayer, he saw a plant growing in front of him and asked it, 'What is your name?' It replied, 'Al-Kharoob.' He asked it, 'What are you for?' It replied, 'For the destruction of this house.' Prophet Solomon ﷺ said, 'O Allah! Let the jinn die until humans realize that the jinn do not know the unseen.' Then he carved it into a staff and leaned on it. Eventually, the earth swallowed it, and he fell, dying. They found him dead, surrounded by the staff. Thus, humans realized that if the jinn knew the unseen, they would not have suffered such a miserable punishment. Ibn Abbas used to recite it this way, and the earth showed gratitude to the jinn by providing water wherever it was."

[Machine] About the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "Solomon, the son of David ﷺ , used to see a growing tree in front of him when he stood during Ramadan. He would ask, 'What is your name?' The tree would reply, 'Such and such.' He would then ask, 'What are you for?' The tree would answer, 'For medicine.' So he would write it down, or 'For planting,' so he would plant it. One day, while he was praying, a tree grew in front of him, and he asked, 'What is your name?' It said, 'The thorn tree.' He asked, 'What are you for?' It answered, 'For destroying the people of this house.' Solomon, peace be upon him, said, 'O Allah, cause my kingdom to prevail over the jinn until it is known to humans that the jinn do not know the unseen.' Then he took the tree and carved it into a cane, and leaned on it as if it was a dead stick, while the jinn continued to work. Then they brought it water and the earth swallowed it, so it fell. When it fell, it became clear to humans that the jinn do not know the unseen. Ibn Abbas used to recite it in this way."

He asked the tree, 'What is your name?' It replied, 'Al-Kharroob.' He asked, 'What are you for?' It replied, 'For the destruction of this house.' Then he carved it into a staff, leaned on it, and the earth swallowed it. The tree fell and the people assumed that the earth had eaten it. They searched and found it turned into a pile. The people became aware that if the jinn had knowledge of the unseen, they would not have remained in such a humiliating punishment. Ibn Abbas used to recite it like this. As a result, the earth and the jinn thanked him, and the water came to the earth wherever it was."
