The Prophet ﷺ did not prescribe any punishment for drinking wine. Ibn Abbas said: A man who had drunk wine and become intoxicated was found staggering on the road, so he was taken to the Prophet ﷺ. When he was opposite al-Abbas's house, he escaped, and going in to al-Abbas, he grasped hold of him. When that was mentioned to the Prophet ﷺ, he laughed and said: Did he do that? and he gave no command regarding him. Abu Dawud said: This tradition of al-Hasan b. 'Ali has been transmitted only by the people of Medina.

[Machine] The messenger of Allah ﷺ did not impose a specific punishment for drinking alcohol. Ibn Abbas said that a man who had consumed alcohol was brought to the Prophet ﷺ while he was in a state of drunkenness. The man was then flogged and brought to the house of Al-Abbas, but he managed to escape. Al-Abbas entered his house and caught him. This incident was mentioned to the Prophet ﷺ who laughed and said, "Did he really do that?" But he did not inquire further about it.

"عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: لَمْ يَبِت رَسُولُ الله ﷺ في الْخَمْرِ حَدًّا، فَشَربَ رَجُلٌ فَلُقِيَ فِي فَجٍ يَمِيلُ، فَانْطُلِقَ به إلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَمَرَ بِهِ أَنْ يُجْلَدَ، فَلَمَّا حَاذَى دَارَ الْعَبَّاسِ انْفَلَتَ فَدَخَلَ الدَّارَ وَالْتَزَمَ الْعَبَّاسَ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ، فَذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِي ﷺ فَضَحِكَ وَقَالَ: أَفَعَلَهَا؟ وَلَمْ يَسْأَلْ عَنْهُ".
