I heard the Prophet ﷺ reciting Surat-al-Mursalat ʿUrfan (77) in the Maghrib prayer, and after that prayer he did not lead us in any prayer till he died.

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْمَغْرِبِ بِ {الْمُرْسَلاَتِ عُرْفًا} ثُمَّ مَا صَلَّى لَنَا بَعْدَهَا حَتَّى قَبَضَهُ اللَّهُ

Umm al-Fadl daughter of al-Harith heard him reciting:" By those sent forth to spread goodness" (lxxvii.). (Upon this) she remarked: O my son, you reminded me by the recitation of this surah (the fact) that it was the last surah that I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he recited it in the evening prayer.

إِنَّ أُمَّ الْفَضْلِ بِنْتَ الْحَارِثِ سَمِعَتْهُ وَهُوَ يَقْرَأُ { وَالْمُرْسَلاَتِ عُرْفًا} فَقَالَتْ يَا بُنَىَّ لَقَدْ ذَكَّرْتَنِي بِقِرَاءَتِكَ هَذِهِ السُّورَةَ إِنَّهَا لآخِرُ مَا سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ بِهَا فِي الْمَغْرِبِ

I heard Ibn’Abbas reciting wa’l-mursalat urfan(surah lxxxvii). She said; sonny you have reminded me of this surah by your recitation. Thie is the last surah which I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reciting in the sunset prayer.

أَنَّ أُمَّ الْفَضْلِ بِنْتَ الْحَارِثِ سَمِعَتْهُ وَهُوَ يَقْرَأُ { وَالْمُرْسَلاَتِ عُرْفًا } فَقَالَتْ يَا بُنَىَّ لَقَدْ ذَكَّرْتَنِي بِقِرَاءَتِكَ هَذِهِ السُّورَةَ إِنَّهَا لآخِرُ مَا سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ بِهَا فِي الْمَغْرِبِ

She heard the Prophet ﷺ recite Al-Mursalat in Maghrib.

أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْمَغْرِبِ بِالْمُرْسَلاَتِ

“(She was) Lubabah” that she heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reciting ‘By the winds sent forth one after another...’[Al-Mursalat (77)] in the Maghrib.

أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْمَغْرِبِ بِالْمُرْسَلاَتِ عُرْفًا

She heard the Prophet ﷺ recite Al-Mursalat in Maghrib. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 986)

أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «يَقْرَأُ فِي الْمَغْرِبِ بِالْمُرْسَلَاتِ»

She heard the Prophet ﷺ recite Al-Mursalat in Maghrib. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 986)

أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْمَغْرِبِ بِالْمُرْسَلَاتِ عُرْفًا

[AI] I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reciting Surah Al-Mursalat during Maghrib prayer.

إِنَّ آخِرَ مَا سَمِعْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَرَأَ فِي الْمَغْرِبِ سُورَةَ الْمُرْسَلَاتِ

I heard Ibn’Abbas reciting wa’l-mursalat urfan(surah lxxxvii). She said; sonny you have reminded me of this surah by your recitation. Thie is the last surah which I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reciting in the sunset prayer. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 810)

أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنَّ أُمَّ الْفَضْلِ بِنْتَ الْحَارِثِ سَمِعَتْهُ وَهُوَ يُقْرَأُ وَالْمُرْسَلَاتِ عُرْفًا فَقَالَتْ يَا بُنَيَّ وَاللهِ لَقَدْ ذَكَّرْتَنِي بِقِرَاءَتِكَ هَذِهِ السُّورَةَ إِنَّهَا لَآخِرُ مَا سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ بِهَا فِي الْمَغْرِبِ

Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Ubaydullah ibn Abdullah ibn Utba ibn Masud from Abdullah ibn Abbas that Umm al- Fadl bint al-Harith heard him reciting al Mursalat (sura 77) and she said to him, "My son, you have reminded me by reciting this sura that it was what I last heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recite in the maghrib prayer."

أَنَّ أُمَّ الْفَضْلِ بِنْتَ الْحَارِثِ سَمِعَتْهُ وَهُوَ يَقْرَأُ وَالْمُرْسَلاَتِ عُرْفًا فَقَالَتْ لَهُ يَا بُنَىَّ لَقَدْ ذَكَّرْتَنِي بِقِرَاءَتِكَ هَذِهِ السُّورَةَ إِنَّهَا لآخِرُ مَا سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ بِهَا فِي الْمَغْرِبِ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recite Surah Al-Mursalat during Maghrib prayer.

إِنَّ آخِرَ مَا سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَرَأَ فِي الْمَغْرِبِ بِسُورَةِ وَالْمُرْسَلَاتِ

that Umm Al-Fadl bint Al-Harith heard him reciting "By those sent forth in succession" and she said, "O my son, you reminded me of your recitation of this Surah, for it is the last thing I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reciting in the Maghrib prayer."

أَنَّ أُمَّ الْفَضْلِ بِنْتَ الْحَارِثِ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقْرَأُ وَالْمُرْسَلَاتِ عُرْفًا فَقَالَتْ يَا بُنَيَّ لَقَدْ ذَكَّرْتَنِي بِقِرَاءَتِكَ هَذِهِ السُّورَةَ أَنَّهَا «آخِرُ مَا سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ بِهَا فِي الْمَغْرِبِ»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reciting in the Maghrib prayer with the Mu'assalat verses, which are well-known.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ فِي صَلَاةِ الْمَغْرِبِ بِالْمُرْسَلَاتِ عُرْفًا

“(She was) Lubabah” that she heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reciting ‘By the winds sent forth one after another...’[Al-Mursalat (77)] in the Maghrib. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 831)

أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْمَغْرِبِ بِالْمُرْسَلَاتِ عُرْفًا

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reciting the Mu'awwidhat (Surahs of seeking refuge from evil) in Maghrib prayer.

آخِرُ مَا «سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْمَغْرِبِ بِالْمُرْسَلَاتِ»

[AI] "My mother, Umm al-Fadl, heard me reciting Al-Mursalat and said, 'Oh my son, is this the last Surah that I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recite in the Maghrib prayer?'"

سَمِعَتْنِي أُمُّ الْفَضْلِ وَأَنَا أَقْرَأُ وَالْمُرْسَلَاتِ عُرْفًا فَقَالَتْ أَيْ يَا بُنَيَّ هَذِهِ آخِرُ سُورَةٍ «سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقْرَؤُهَا فِي صَلَاةِ الْمَغْرِبِ»

“(She was) Lubabah” that she heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reciting ‘By the winds sent forth one after another...’[Al-Mursalat (77)] in the Maghrib. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 831)

أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «يَقْرَأُ فِي الْمَغْرِبِ بِالْمُرْسَلَاتِ»

[AI] "Oh my son, you reminded me of reading this Surah. It is the last Surah I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reciting in the Maghrib prayer."

"إِنَّ آخِرَ مَا سَمِعْتُ النَّبِىَّ ﷺ يَقْرأ فِى الْمَغْرِبِ: وَالْمُرْسَلاتِ".
