bukhari:632 – Musaddad > Yaḥyá > ʿUbaydullāh b. ʿUmar > Nāfiʿ

Once in a cold night, Ibn ʿUmar pronounced the Adhan for the prayer at Dajnan (the name of a mountain) and then said, "Pray at your homes", and informed us that Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to tell the Mu'adh-dhin to pronounce Adhan and say, "Pray at your homes" at the end of the Adhan on a rainy or a very cold night during the journey."

البخاري:٦٣٢ – حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ قَالَ

أَذَّنَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ فِي لَيْلَةٍ بَارِدَةٍ بِضَجْنَانَ ثُمَّ قَالَ صَلُّوا فِي رِحَالِكُمْ فَأَخْبَرَنَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَأْمُرُ مُؤَذِّنًا يُؤَذِّنُ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ عَلَى إِثْرِهِ أَلاَ صَلُّوا فِي الرِّحَالِ فِي اللَّيْلَةِ الْبَارِدَةِ أَوِ الْمَطِيرَةِ فِي السَّفَرِ

Once on a very cold and stormy night, Ibn ʿUmar pronounced the Adhan for the prayer and then said, "Pray in your homes." He (Ibn ʿUmar) added. "On very cold and rainy nights Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to order the Mu'adh-dhin to say, 'Pray in your homes.' "

"Pray where you are, for the Prophet ﷺused to order the Mu'adhdhin, if it was a cold and rainy night, to say: 'Pray in your dwellings.'"

النسائي:٦٥٤ – أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ أَذَّنَ بِالصَّلاَةِ فِي لَيْلَةٍ ذَاتِ بَرْدٍ وَرِيحٍ فَقَالَ

أَلاَ صَلُّوا فِي الرِّحَالِ فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَأْمُرُ الْمُؤَذِّنَ إِذَا كَانَتْ لَيْلَةٌ بَارِدَةٌ ذَاتُ مَطَرٍ يَقُولُ أَلاَ صَلُّوا فِي الرِّحَالِ

abudawud:1063 – al-Qaʿnabī > Mālik > Nāfiʿ

Ibn ‘Umar made the call to prayer on a cold and windy night. He then said: “Lo! Pray in the dwellings. “Afterwards he said: Whenever there was a cold or rainy day night, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to command the mu’adhdin to announce: “Lo! Pray in the dwellings.”

أبو داود:١٠٦٣ – حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَعْنِي أَذَّنَ بِالصَّلاَةِ فِي لَيْلَةٍ ذَاتِ بَرْدٍ وَرِيحٍ فَقَالَ أَلاَ صَلُّوا فِي الرِّحَالِ ثُمَّ قَالَ

إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَأْمُرُ الْمُؤَذِّنَ إِذَا كَانَتْ لَيْلَةٌ بَارِدَةٌ أَوْ ذَاتُ مَطَرٍ يَقُولُ أَلاَ صَلُّوا فِي الرِّحَالِ

ahmad:5302 – ʿAbd al-Raḥman > Mālik > Nāfiʿ > Ibn ʿUmar

[Machine] It is narrated that the Prophet ﷺ would, when there was a windy and cold night during travel, command the Mu'adhdhin to call Adhan, and then he would say the prayer during the journey.

أحمد:٥٣٠٢ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ

[Machine] "In the aftermath, they were instructed to pray during the journeys, and it was informed to us that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to command the mu'adhin to say: 'Pray during the journeys on cold or rainy nights while traveling.'"

There is no blame on a person for staying back from attending congregational prayers during inclement weather

ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ الْمَطَرَ وَالْبَرَدَ لَا حَرَجَ عَلَى الْمَرْءِ فِي التَّخَلُّفِ، عَنْ إِتْيَانِ الْجَمَاعَاتِ عِنْدَ انْفِرَادِ كُلِّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا وَإِنْ لَمْ يَجْتَمِعَا

ibnhibban:2080 – ʿAbdullāh b. Muḥammad al-Azdī > Isḥāq b. Ibrāhīm > ʿAbdah b. Sulaymān > ʿUbaydullāh b. ʿUmar > Nāfiʿ > Ibn ʿUmar

that he called the adhān at Ḍajnān on a cold night and said to his companions: Pray in your dwellings, for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to instruct the mu’adhdhin to give the adhān on a rainy or cold night, and he would instruct his companions: "Pray in your dwellings."

ابن حبّان:٢٠٨٠ – أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ

أَنَّهُ أَذَّنَ بِضَجْنَانَ فِي لَيْلَةٍ بَارِدَةٍ، وَقَالَ لِأَصْحَابِهِ: صَلُّوا فِي رِحَالِكُمْ، فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَأْمُرُ الْمُؤَذِّنَ أَنْ يُؤَذِّنَ فِي اللَّيْلَةِ الْمَطِيرَةِ أَوِ الْبَارِدَةِ، وَيَأْمُرُ أَصْحَابَهُ أَنْ: «صَلُّوا فِي رِحَالِكُمْ».

nasai-kubra:1630 – Qutaybah b. Saʿīd > Mālik > Nāfiʿ

Pray in your dwellings; and then said: When it was a cold, rainy night, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to command the Mu'adhdhin to say" Pray in your dwellings." (Using translation from Muslim 697a)

bayhaqi:1867 – Abū ʿAbdullāh > Abū Bakr Aḥmad b. Isḥāq al-Faqīh Imlāʾ > Abū al-Muthanná And Muḥammad b. Ayyūb Wa-al-Ḥadīth Limuḥammad > Musaddad > Yaḥyá b. ʿUbaydullāh > Nāfiʿ

[Machine] And he informed us that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to instruct the Mu'adhdhin to give the call to prayer after that, saying: "Pray while on your journeys on cold or rainy nights."

البيهقي:١٨٦٧ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْفَقِيهُ إِمْلَاءً ثنا أَبُو الْمُثَنَّى وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ وَالْحَدِيثُ لِمُحَمَّدٍ ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ أَذَّنَ لَيْلَةً بِالْعِشَاءِ بِضَجْنَانَ فِي لَيْلَةٍ بَارِدَةٍ وَقَالَ عَلَى إِثْرِ ذَلِكَ أَلَا صَلُّوا فِي رِحَالِكُمْ
