ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ الْمَطَرَ وَالْبَرَدَ لَا حَرَجَ عَلَى الْمَرْءِ فِي التَّخَلُّفِ، عَنْ إِتْيَانِ الْجَمَاعَاتِ عِنْدَ انْفِرَادِ كُلِّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا وَإِنْ لَمْ يَجْتَمِعَا

ibnhibban:2080ʿAbdullāh b. Muḥammad al-Azdī > Isḥāq b. Ibrāhīm > ʿAbdah b. Sulaymān > ʿUbaydullāh b. ʿUmar > Nāfiʿ > Ibn ʿUmar

[Machine] And he said to his companions, "Pray in your traveling bags, for indeed the Messenger of Allahﷺ used to order the Mu'adhin to call the Adhan on stormy or cold nights, and he would command his companions to 'Pray in your traveling bags.'"  

ابن حبّان:٢٠٨٠أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ

أَنَّهُ أَذَّنَ بِضَجْنَانَ فِي لَيْلَةٍ بَارِدَةٍ وَقَالَ لِأَصْحَابِهِ صَلُّوا فِي رِحَالِكُمْ فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَأْمُرُ الْمُؤَذِّنَ يُؤَذِّنُ فِي اللَّيْلَةِ الْمَطِيرَةِ أَوِ الْبَارِدَةِ وَيَأْمُرُ أَصْحَابَهُ أَنْ «صَلُّوا فِي رِحَالِكُمْ»

Once in a cold night, Ibn ʿUmar pronounced the Adhan for the prayer at Dajnan (the name of a mountain) and then said, "Pray at your homes", and informed us that Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to tell the Mu'adh-dhin to pronounce Adhan and say, "Pray at your homes" at the end of the Adhan on a rainy or a very cold night during the journey."  

البخاري:٦٣٢حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ قَالَ

أَذَّنَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ فِي لَيْلَةٍ بَارِدَةٍ بِضَجْنَانَ ثُمَّ قَالَ صَلُّوا فِي رِحَالِكُمْ فَأَخْبَرَنَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَأْمُرُ مُؤَذِّنًا يُؤَذِّنُ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ عَلَى إِثْرِهِ أَلاَ صَلُّوا فِي الرِّحَالِ فِي اللَّيْلَةِ الْبَارِدَةِ أَوِ الْمَطِيرَةِ فِي السَّفَرِ

[Machine] "In the aftermath, they were instructed to pray during the journeys, and it was informed to us that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to command the mu'adhin to say: 'Pray during the journeys on cold or rainy nights while traveling.'"
