Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out to inform the people about the (date of the Night of decree (Al-Qadr). There happened a quarrel between two Muslim men. The Prophet ﷺ said, "I came out to inform you about the Night of Al-Qadr, but as so-and-so and so-and-so quarrelled, so the news about it had been taken away; and may be it was better for you. So look for it in the ninth, the seventh, or the fifth (of the last ten days of Ramadan).

خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِيُخْبِرَ النَّاسَ بِلَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ فَتَلاَحَى رَجُلاَنِ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ خَرَجْتُ لأُخْبِرَكُمْ فَتَلاَحَى فُلاَنٌ وَفُلاَنٌ وَإِنَّهَا رُفِعَتْ وَعَسَى أَنْ يَكُونَ خَيْرًا لَكُمْ فَالْتَمِسُوهَا فِي التَّاسِعَةِ وَالسَّابِعَةِ وَالْخَامِسَةِ

The Prophet ﷺ came out to inform us about the Night of Qadr but two Muslims were quarreling with each other. So, the Prophet ﷺ said, "I came out to inform you about the Night of Qadr but such-and-such persons were quarreling, so the news about it had been taken away; yet that might be for your own good, so search for it on the 29th, 27th and 25th (of Ramadan).

خَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لِيُخْبِرَنَا بِلَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ فَتَلاَحَى رَجُلاَنِ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَقَالَ خَرَجْتُ لأُخْبِرَكُمْ بِلَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ فَتَلاَحَى فُلاَنٌ وَفُلاَنٌ فَرُفِعَتْ وَعَسَى أَنْ يَكُونَ خَيْرًا لَكُمْ فَالْتَمِسُوهَا فِي التَّاسِعَةِ وَالسَّابِعَةِ وَالْخَامِسَةِ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us wanting to inform us about the Night of Qadr (Decree). Two men began quarreling, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "I came out wanting to inform you about the Night of Qadr, but two men quarreled, so it was raised up (knowledge of it) and it may be better for you. So seek it on the ninth, or the seventh, or the fifth night."

خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يُخْبِرَنَا بِلَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ فَتَلَاحَى رَجُلَانِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ خَرَجْتُ وَأَنَا أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُخْبِرَكُمْ بِلَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ فَتَلَاحَى رَجُلَانِ فَرُفِعَتْ وَعَسَى أَنْ يَكُونَ خَيْرًا لَكُمْ فَالْتَمِسُوهَا فِيالتَّاسِعَةِ أَوِ السَّابِعَةِ أَوِ الْخَامِسَةِ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us intending to inform us about Laylatul Qadr (the Night of Decree). Two Muslims started arguing, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I came to you wanting to inform you about Laylatul Qadr, but there was a dispute between so-and-so and so-and-so, and it was raised to the point where it may be better for you to seek it in the last ten nights, on the fifth, seventh, and ninth nights."

"Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out to inform the people about the (date of the) night of decree (Al-Qadr) but there happened a quarrel between two Muslim men. [Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us, wanting to inform us about the Night of Decree. Two Muslim men argued, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I came out to you wanting to inform you about the Night of Decree. It was between so-and-so and so-and-so, but it was lifted. Perhaps it is for the best. So seek it in the last ten nights, on the 25th, 27th, and 29th."

خَرَجَ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يُخْبِرَنَا بِلَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ فَتَلَاحَى رَجُلَانِ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنِّي خَرَجْتُ إِلَيْكُمْ وَأَنَا أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُخْبِرَكُمْ بِلَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ فَكَانَ بَيْنَ فُلَانٍ وَفُلَانٍ لِحَاءٌ فَرُفِعَتْ وَعَسَى أَنْ يَكُونَ خَيْرًا فَالْتَمِسُوهَا فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأَوَاخِرِ فِي الْخَامِسَةِ وَالسَّابِعَةِ وَالتَّاسِعَةِ

اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يُخْبِرَنَا بِلَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ فَتَلَاحَا رَجُلَانِ فَقَالَ لَقَدْ خَرَجْتُ إِلَيْكُمْ وَأَنَا أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُخْبِرَكُمْ بِلَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ فَتَلَاحَا فُلَانٌ وَفُلَانٌ فَذَهَبَ عَنِّي أَوْ كَلِمَةٌ نَحْوَهَا وَعَسَى أَنْ يَكُونَ خَيْرًا لَكُمْ فَالْتَمِسُوهَا فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأَوَاخِرِ فِي التَّاسِعَةِ وَالسَّابِعَةِ وَالْخَامِسَةِ

"إِنِّى خَرَجْتُ لأُخْبِرَكُمْ بلَيْلَةِ القَدْر، وَإنَّهُ تَلَاحَى فُلَانٌ وَفُلانٌ فَرُفِعَتْ. وَعَسَى أَنْ تكُونَ خَيْرًا لكم فالْتَمِسُوهَا في السَّبْعِ وَالتِّسْعِ. والْخَمْسِ".
