Giving charity while you're healthy and able
A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, “O Messenger of Allah, which charity is greatest in reward?” He said, “That you give charity while you are healthy and stingy, fearing poverty and hoping for wealth, and that you do not delay until, when it (death) reaches the throat, you say: ‘For so-and-so such-and-such, and for so-and-so such-and-such,’ while it has already become so-and-so’s (i.e. it has become inheritance after your death).”
