[Machine] Abu Al-Aliyah Al-Awan said, "It is the middle between the virgin and the barren. It falls straight. It is not humiliated by work. It stirs the earth, it is not humiliated by stirring the earth and does not work in farming. It is free from defects. It is pure whiteness. It is yellow, or if you prefer, it is black. And it is said yellow, as in the saying: "Fair features are yellow." You disagreed.

قَالَ أَبُو الْعَالِيَةِ الْعَوَانُ النَّصَفُ بَيْنَ الْبِكْرِ وَالْهَرِمَةِ. {فَاقِعٌ} صَافٍ. {لاَ ذَلُولٌ} لَمْ يُذِلَّهَا الْعَمَلُ، {تُثِيرُ الأَرْضَ} لَيْسَتْ بِذَلُولٍ تُثِيرُ الأَرْضَ وَلاَ تَعْمَلُ فِي الْحَرْثِ {مُسَلَّمَةٌ} مِنَ الْعُيُوبِ. {لاَ شِيَةَ} بَيَاضٌ. {صَفْرَاءُ} إِنْ شِئْتَ سَوْدَاءُ، وَيُقَالُ صَفْرَاءُ، كَقَوْلِهِ: {جِمَالاَتٌ صُفْرٌ}. {فَادَّارَأْتُمْ} اخْتَلَفْتُمْ.
