Anas bin Malik said, "The Prophet ﷺ took Safiya as a captive. He manumitted her and married her." Thabit asked Anas, "What did he give her as Mahr (i.e. marriage gift)?" Anas replied. "Her Mahr was herself, for he manumitted her."

سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ؓ يَقُولُ سَبَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ صَفِيَّةَ فَأَعْتَقَهَا وَتَزَوَّجَهَا فَقَالَ ثَابِتٌ لأَنَسٍ مَا أَصْدَقَهَا قَالَ أَصْدَقَهَا نَفْسَهَا فَأَعْتَقَهَا

[AI] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ freed Safiyyah and married her. Thabit said to him: What is the truth of her? He said: Her own self freed her and married her.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَعْتَقَ صَفِيَّةَ وَتَزَوَّجَهَا قَالَ فَقَالَ لَهُ ثَابِتٌ مَا أَصْدَقَهَا؟ قَالَ نَفْسَهَا أَعْتَقَهَا وَتَزَوَّجَهَا

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ married Safiyyah, and Thabit said to him, "How can you believe her?" He replied, "I believe her because she herself affirmed it and freed her and married her."

تَزَوَّجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَفِيَّةَ فَقَالَ لَهُ ثَابِتٌ مَا أَصْدَقَهَا؟ قَالَ أَصْدَقَهَا نَفْسَهَا أَعْتَقَهَا وَتَزَوَّجَهَا

[AI] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ freed Safiyyah and married her, so I asked Thabit, "What did she say (regarding her marriage to the Prophet)?" He said, "She accepted willingly."
