"The martyrs and those who dies in their beds referred a dispute to our Lord concerning those who dies of the plague. The martyrs said: 'Our brothers were killed as we were killed.' And those who dies in their beds said: 'Our brothers dies on their beds as we died.' Our Lord said: 'Look at their wounds; if their wounds; if their wounds are like the wounds of those who were killed then they are of them and belong with them.' And their wounds were like their (the martyrs') wounds."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ يَخْتَصِمُ الشُّهَدَاءُ وَالْمُتَوَفَّوْنَ عَلَى فُرُشِهِمْ إِلَى رَبِّنَا فِي الَّذِينَ يُتَوَفَّوْنَ مِنَ الطَّاعُونِ فَيَقُولُ الشُّهَدَاءُ إِخْوَانُنَا قُتِلُوا كَمَا قُتِلْنَا وَيَقُولُ الْمُتَوَفَّوْنَ عَلَى فُرُشِهِمْ إِخْوَانُنَا مَاتُوا عَلَى فُرُشِهِمْ كَمَا مُتْنَا فَيَقُولُ رَبُّنَا انْظُرُوا إِلَى جِرَاحِهِمْ فَإِنْ أَشْبَهَ جِرَاحُهُمْ جِرَاحَ الْمَقْتُولِينَ فَإِنَّهُمْ مِنْهُمْ وَمَعَهُمْ فَإِذَا جِرَاحُهُمْ قَدْ أَشْبَهَتْ جِرَاحَهُمْ

[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "The martyrs and those who die of plague will dispute with Allah about those who died from the plague. The martyrs will say, 'Our brethren were killed.' The plague victims will say, 'Our brethren died on their beds, just as we did.' Then Allah will rule between them and say, 'Look at the wounds of the plague victims. If their wounds resemble the wounds of the martyrs, then they are considered martyrs and will be with them.'"

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ يَخْتَصِمُ الشُّهَدَاءُ وَالْمُتَوَفَّوْنَ عَلَى فُرُشِهِمْ إِلَى اللهِ ﷻ فِي الَّذِينَ مَاتُوا مِنَ الطَّاعُونِ فَيَقُولُ الشُّهَدَاءُ إِخْوَانُنَا قُتِلُوا وَيَقُولُ الْمُتَوَفَّوْنَ عَلَى فُرُشِهِمْ إِخْوَانُنَا مَاتُوا عَلَى فُرُشِهِمْ كَمَا مِتْنَا فَيَقْضِي اللهُ ﷻ بَيْنَهُمْ أَنْ انْظُرُوا إِلَى جِرَاحَاتِ الْمَطْعُونِينَ فَإِنْ أَشْبَهَتْ جِرَاحَاتِ الشُّهَدَاءِ فَهُمْ مِنْهُمْ فَيَنْظُرُونَ إِلَى جِرَاحِ الْمَطْعُونِينَ فَإِذَا هِيَ قَدْ أَشْبَهَتْ فَيُلْحَقُونَ مَعَهُمْ

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "The martyrs and those who die of plague argue before our Lord about those who have died in the plague. The martyrs say, 'Our brothers were killed just as we were killed.' And those who died of plague on their beds say, 'Our brothers have died on their beds just as we have died.' Then Allah judges between them and says, 'Look at the wounds of those who were stabbed.' And when they look, their wounds are similar to the wounds of the martyrs. So they are joined with them."

"يَخْتَصِمُ الشُّهَدَاءُ وَالْمُتَوفَّوْنَ عَلَى فُرُشِهِمْ إِلَى ربِّنَا فِى الَّذِينَ يُتَوَفَّوْنَ مِنَ الطَّاعُونِ فَيَقُولُ الشُّهَدَاءُ: إِخْوَانُنَا قُتِلُوا كَمَا قُتِلنَا، وَيَقُولُ الْمتَوَفَّوْنَ عَلَى فْرُشِهِمْ: إِخوَانُنَا مَاتُوا عَلَى فُرُشِهِمْ كَمَا مِتْنَا فَيَقْضِى بَيْنَهُمْ، فَيَقُولُ: انْقُرُوا إِلَى جِرَاحِهِمْ،

فَإِنْ أَشْبَهَ جِرَاحُهُمْ جِرَاحَ الْمَقْتُولِينَ؛ فَإِنَّهُمْ مِنْهُمْ ومَعَهُمْ، فَيَنْظُرُوا إِلَى جِرَاحِ الْمُطْعَنِينَ، فَإِذَا جِرَاحُهُمْ قَدْ أَشْبَهَتْ جِرَاحَ الشُّهَدَاءِ، فَيُلحَقُونَ بِهمْ".
