البزّار:١٤٨٠ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ نا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانُ قَالَ نا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ وَمَنْصُورٍ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ

اللَّهِ أَنُؤَاخَذُ بِمَا عَمِلْنَا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ قَالَ مَنْ أَحْسَنَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ لَمْ يُؤَاخَذْ بِمَا عَمِلَ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَمَنْ أَسَاءَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ أُخِذَ بِالْأَوَّلِ وَالْآخِرِ وَحَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَى قَالَ نا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِنَحْوِهِ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ قَدْ رَوَاهُ غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ وَغَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ

bukhari:6921 – Khalāad b. Yaḥyá > Sufyān > Manṣūr And al-Aʿmash > Abū Wāʾil > Ibn Masʿūd

A man said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! Shall we be punished for what we did in the Prelslamic Period of ignorance?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever does good in Islam will not be punished for what he did in the Pre-lslamic Period of ignorance and whoever does evil in Islam will be punished for his former and later (bad deeds).

البخاري:٦٩٢١ – حَدَّثَنَا خَلاَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ وَالأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ؓ قَالَ قَالَ

We once said: Messenger of Allah, would we be held responsible for our deeds committed in the state of ignorance? He (the Holy Prophet) observed: He who did good deeds in Islam would not be held responsible for what he did in the state of ignorance, but he who committed evil (after having come within the fold of Islam) would be held responsible for his previous and later deeds.

مسلم:١٢٠b – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي وَوَكِيعٌ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ

قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَنُؤَاخَذُ بِمَا عَمِلْنَا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ قَالَ مَنْ أَحْسَنَ فِي الإِسْلاَمِ لَمْ يُؤَاخَذْ بِمَا عَمِلَ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَمَنْ أَسَاءَ فِي الإِسْلاَمِ أُخِذَ بِالأَوَّلِ وَالآخِرِ

ahmad:4103 – Wakīʿ And Ibn Numayr > al-Aʿmash > Abū Wāʾil > ʿAbdullāh

[Machine] We said, "O Messenger of Allah, Ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us from Sulayman, who said, 'I heard Abu Wa'il narrating from Abdullah who said, "We said, 'O Messenger of Allah, will we be held accountable for what we did during the time of ignorance?' He said, 'Whoever does good deeds in Islam will not be held accountable for what they did during the time of ignorance, and whoever does evil deeds in Islam will be held accountable for both their first and last."'"

أحمد:٤١٠٣ – حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ وَابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ
