The Prophet ﷺ said, "Spitting in the mosque is a sin and its expiation is to bury it."

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الْبُزَاقُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ خَطِيئَةٌ وَكَفَّارَتُهَا دَفْنُهَا

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Spitting in a mosque is a sin, and its expiation is that it should be buried.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْبُزَاقُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ خَطِيئَةٌ وَكَفَّارَتُهَا دَفْنُهَا

I asked Qatada about spitting, in the mosque. He said: I heard Anas b. Malik say: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Spitting in the mosque is a sin, and its expiation is that it should be buried.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ التَّفْلُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ خَطِيئَةٌ وَكَفَّارَتُهَا دَفْنُهَا

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Spitting in the mosque is a sin and it is expiated by burying the spittle.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْبُزَاقُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ خَطِيئَةٌ وَكَفَّارَتُهَا دَفْنُهَا

the Messenger of Allah said: "To spit in the Masjid is a sin, and burying it is its atonement."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْبُزَاقُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ خَطِيئَةٌ وَكَفَّارَتُهَا دَفْنُهَا

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Spitting in the Masjid is a sin, and its expiation is to bury it.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْبُصَاقُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ خَطِيئَةٌ وَكَفَّارَتُهَا دَفْنُهَا

[AI] About the Prophet ﷺ, "Is spitting in the mosque a sin?" He said, "Yes, and its expiation is burying it."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ «الْبُزَاقُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ خَطِيئَةٌ؟» قَالَ «نَعَمْ وَكَفَّارَتُهَا دَفْنُهَا»

[AI] The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said: Sleeping in the mosque is a sin and its expiation is to bury it.

أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ النُّخَاعَةُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ خَطِيئَةٌ وَكَفَّارَتُهَا دَفْنُهَا

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Spitting in the mosque is a sin and its expiation is to bury it."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ النُّخَاعَةُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ خَطِيئَةٌ وَكَفَّارَتُهَا دَفْنُهَا

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Spitting in the mosque is a sin and its expiation is to bury it." (Using translation from Bukhārī 415)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ الْبُزَاقُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِخَطِيئَةٌ وَكَفَّارَتُهَا دَفْنُهَا

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Urinating in the mosque is a sin and its expiation is burying it."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ النُّخَاعَةُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ خَطِيئَةٌوَكَفَّارَتُهَا دَفْنُهَا

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Indeed, spitting in the mosque is a sin, and its expiation is its burial."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ الْبُزَاقَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ خَطِيئَةٌ وَكَفَّارَتُهَا دَفْنُهَا

[AI] That the Prophet of Allah, ﷺ , used to say that spitting in the mosque is a sin and its atonement is burying it.

أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَقُولُ التُّفَالُ فِيالْمَسْجِدِ خَطِيئَةٌ وَكَفَّارَتُهُ دَفْنُهُ

Malik related to me from Abdullah ibn Dinar from Abdullah ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade selling or giving away the wala'.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِ الْوَلاَءِ وَعَنْ هِبَتِهِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Spitting in the mosque is a sin and it is expiated by burying the spittle. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 475)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «النُّخَامَةُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ خَطِيئَةٌ وَكَفَّارَتُهَا دَفْنُهَا»

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Spitting in the mosque is a sin and it is expiated by burying the spittle. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 475)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «الْبُصَاقُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ خَطِيئَةٌ وَكَفَّارَتُهَا دَفْنُهَا»

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يَحْكُمُ الْحَاكِمُ بَيْنَ اثْنَيْنِ وَهُوَ غَضْبَانُ

قَالَ النَّبِيّ ﷺ الْعَائِدُ فِي هِبَتِهِ كَالْكَلْبِ يَعُودُ فِي قَيْئِهِ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ التَّنَخُّمُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ خَطِيئَةٌ وكفارتها دفنها

أَن النَّبِيّ ﷺ قَالَ الْبُزَاقُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ خَطِيئَةٌ وَكَفَّارَتُهَا دفنها

أَن رَسولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ الْبُزَاقُ في المسجد خطيئة وكفارتها دفنها

قَالَ الْبُزَاقُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ خَطِيئَةٌ وَكَفَّارَتُهَا دَفْنُهَا وَلَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ وقد رفعه غير أبي أحمد

قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْبُزَاقُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ خَطِيئَةٌ وَكَفَّارَتُهَا دَفْنُهَا

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Spitting in the mosque is a sin and it is expiated by burying the spittle. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 475)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «الْبُزَاقُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ خَطِيئَةٌ وَكَفَّارَتُهُ دَفْنُهُ»

[AI] We used to pray with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ the Maghrib prayer when it got dark with the veil.

كُنَّا نُصَلِّي مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الْمَغْرِبَ إِذَا تَوَارَتْ بِالْحِجَابِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Spitting in the mosque is a sin and its expiation is to bury it."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْبُزَاقُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ خَطِيئَةٌ وَكَفَّارَتُهَا دَفْنُهَا

[AI] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to offer prayers on the camel.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي عَلَى الْخُمْرَةِ

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited silk, except like this," and he pointed with his two fingers that were next to his thumb, saying, "So we did not understand that he meant flags."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْحَرِيرِ إِلَّا هَكَذَا وَأَشَارَ بِإِصْبَعَيْهِ اللَّتَيْنِ يَلِيَانِ الْإِبْهَامَ قَالَ فَمَا عَتَّمْنَا أَنَّهُ يَعْنِي الْأَعْلَامَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited silk except like this and he pointed with his two fingers that were next to the thumb and said, "So we understood that he meant clothing."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْحَرِيرِ إِلَّا هَكَذَا وَأَشَارَ بِإِصْبَعَيْهِ اللَّتَيْنِ تَلِيَانِ الْإِبْهَامَ قَالَ فَمَا عَتَّمْنَا أَنَّهُ يَعْنِي الْإِعْلَامَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Today, a righteous man has passed away, so pray for As'hamah."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَاتَ الْيَوْمَ رَجُلٌ صَالِحٌ فَصَلُّوا عَلَى أَصْحَمَةَ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Save yourselves from the Hellfire, even if it is by giving half a date in charity."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ اتَّقُوا النَّارَ وَلَوْ بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ

[AI] What did the Prophet ﷺ say? He said that a Muslim, when he spends on his family and intends it as an act of charity, it becomes a charity for him.

أَعَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ؟ فَقَالَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ الْمُسْلِمَ إِذَا أَنْفَقَ نَفَقَةً عَلَى أَهْلِهِ وَهُوَ يَحْتَسِبُهَا كَانَتْ لَهُ صَدَقَةٌ

[AI] About the prophet ﷺ , that he did it.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ فَعَلَهُ

[AI] "I heard Ibn Umar saying that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to come to the Mosque of Quba on foot and riding."

سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَأْتِي مَسْجِدَ قُبَاءَ رَاكِبًا وَمَاشِيًا

[AI] I heard Jabir bin Abdullah say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ disliked a man to come to his family with a Mohawk hairstyle.

سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَكْرَهُ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ الرَّجُلُ أَهْلَهُ طَرُوقًا

[AI] Narrated by the Prophet, ﷺ , he said: "Whoever performs Hajj to this House (Kaaba) and does not commit any obscenity or commit any sin, will come back as free from sins as the day his mother gave birth to him."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ حَجَّ هَذَا الْبَيْتَ فَلَمْ يَرْفُثْ وَلَمْ يَفْسُقْ رَجَعَ كَيَوْمِ وَلَدَتْهُ أُمُّهُ

[AI] Regarding the exchange, both of them say that the Prophet ﷺ forbade selling paper for gold as a debt.

عَنِ الصَّرْفِ فَكِلَاهُمَا يَقُولُ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ بَيْعِ الْوَرِقِ بِالذَّهَبِ دَيْنًا

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Injustice is darkness on the Day of Judgment."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الظُّلْمُ ظُلُمَاتٌ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

[AI] "Regarding the Prophet ﷺ, he said: 'The one who returns to his gift is like a dog that returns to its vomit.'"

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ الْعَائِدُ فِي هِبَتِهِ كَالْكَلْبِ يَعُودُ فِي قَيْئِهِ

[AI] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ, he said: "The one who returns a gift is like the one who returns what he has vomited." Isma'il added: "Hammam said: Qatada said: 'I do not know anything about vomiting except that it is forbidden.'"

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ الْعَائِدُ فِي هِبَتِهِ كَالْعَائِدِ فِي قَيْئِهِ زَادَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ قَالَ هَمَّامٌ قَالَ قَتَادَةُ وَلَا أَعْلَمُ الْقَيْءَ إِلَّا حَرَامًا

The Prophet ﷺ said, "The one who takes back his gift is like a dog swallowing its own vomit, and we (believers) should not act according to this bad example." (Using translation from Bukhārī 6975)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْعَائِدُ فِي هِبَتِهِ كَالْكَلْبِ يَعُودُ فِي قَيْئِهِ لَيْسَ لَنَا مَثَلُ السَّوْءِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was given meat, so it was said, "O Messenger of Allah, this is from what you give as charity to Barirah." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It is a charity for her, and for us it is a gift."

أُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِلَحْمٍ فَقِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ هَذَا مِمَّا تُصُدِّقَ بِهِ عَلَى بَرِيرَةَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ هُوَ لَهَا صَدَقَةٌ وَلَنَا هَدِيَّةٌ

[AI] "Indeed, the Prophet ﷺ was brought some meat, so he asked, 'What is this?' They said, 'This is given to us as charity.' He said, 'It is a gift for us and there is also charity on it.' Al-Bukhari said, and Abu Dawood also said, mentioning and narrating it from another perspective, from Shu'bah."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أُتِيَ بِلَحْمٍ فَقَالَ مَا هَذَا؟ قَالَ هَذَا تُصُدِّقَ بِهِ عَلَى بَرِيرَةَ فَقَالَ هُوَ لَنَا هَدِيَّةٌ وَعَلَيْهَا صَدَقَةٌ قَالَ الْبُخَارِيُّ وَقَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ فَذَكَرَهُ وَأَخْرَجَاهُ مِنْ وَجْهٍ آخَرَ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited it on the day of Khaybar and also prohibited the consumption of donkey meat.

إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْهَا يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ وَعَنْ لُحُومِ الْحُمُرِ الْإِنْسِيَّةِ

[AI] The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said, "The first thing to be settled among people on the Day of Resurrection is the matter of blood."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَوَّلُ مَا يُقْضَى بَيْنَ النَّاسِ فِي الدِّمَاءِ يَعْنِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

[AI] From the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , he said: "There is no contagious disease, nor is there any bird omen. And I am amazed by the righteous person's favorable outcome and the good word."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا عَدْوَى وَلَا طِيَرَةَ وَيُعْجِبُنِي الْفَالُ الصَّالِحُ الْكَلِمَةُ الْحَسَنَةُ

[AI] Anas said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade tormenting animals.

أَنَسٌ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يُصْبَرَ الْبَهَائِمُ

[AI] I saw the Prophet ﷺ eating chicken.

رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَأْكُلُ الدَّجَاجَ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , saying, "A decision should not be made between two parties while the judge is angry."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَا يَقْضِي حَكَمٌ بَيْنَ اثْنَيْنِ وَهُوَ غَضْبَانُ

[AI] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ, he said: "Insulting a Muslim is immorality, and fighting against him is disbelief."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ سِبَابُ الْمُسْلِمِ فُسُوقٌ وَقِتَالُهُ كُفْرٌ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited the sale of allegiance and its gifting.

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ بَيْعِ الْوَلَاءِ وَهِبَتِهِ
