36. Chapter
I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Everyone of you is a guardian, and responsible for what is in his custody. The ruler is a guardian of his subjects and responsible for them; a husband is a guardian of his family and is responsible for it; a lady is a guardian of her husband's house and is responsible for it, and a servant is a guardian of his master's property and is responsible for it." I heard that from Messenger of Allah ﷺ and I think that the Prophet ﷺ also said, "A man is a guardian of is father's property and is responsible for it, so all of you are guardians and responsible for your wards and things under your care." (Using translation from Bukhārī 2409)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Three traits, if found in a person, make him a hypocrite, even if he fasts and prays and claims to be a Muslim: when he speaks, he lies; when he makes a promise, he breaks it; and when he is entrusted, he betrays." 12688 Abu Abdullah Al-Hafiz narrated to us, that Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Abdullah Ash-Shafi'i narrated to us, that Muhammad ibn Bishr ibn Matr narrated to us, that Abdul A'la ibn Hammad and Abu Nasr At-Tammar said: Hammad ibn Salamah mentioned it.
[Machine] The prophet of Allah, ﷺ , said: The signs of a hypocrite are three - when he speaks, he lies; when he promises, he breaks his promise; and when he is entrusted with something, he betrays that trust.
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, except for what he said in his sermon: "There is no faith for one who lacks trustworthiness, and there is no religion for one who lacks commitment."
that the Prophet ﷺ said, "Guarantee for me six ˹deeds˺ from yourselves and I will guarantee for you Paradise: (1) Be truthful when you speak, (2) keep your promises when you make them, (3) fulfill the trust when you are entrusted, (4) guard your chastity, (5) lower your gaze, and (6) restrain your hands ˹from harming others.˺" (Using translation from Aḥmad 22757)
[Machine] "Killing in the cause of Allah expiates all sins except for dishonesty. The person who is killed in the cause of Allah will be asked to return his trust, to which he will say, 'My Lord, the world has passed, how can I return it?' It will be said to him, 'Take him to the abyss.' When he is brought to the edge of the abyss, his trust will be made to appear to him as it was on the day it was given to him. He will carry it on his neck and enter the Fire with it until he sees that he has come out of it, then it will fall and drag him along with it forever. Abdullah recited: 'Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due' (Quran 4:58)."
[Machine] "Do not look at someone's prayer or fasting, but look at someone who, when they speak, they speak truthfully, and when they are trusted, they fulfill their trust, and when they promise, they keep their promise."
[Machine] 'Omar ibn al-Khattab said, "Do not be deceived by a person's prayer or fasting. Whoever wants to fast may do so, and whoever wants to pray may do so. However, a person who lacks integrity has no religion."
[Machine] Concerning the characteristics of people, he is the man.
[Machine] Aisha said, "The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , commanded Ali to stay behind in Mecca until he returned the trusts that were with him to their rightful owners."
[Machine] Some people from the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ narrated to me that the Prophet ﷺ mentioned in a hadith about his departure. He said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ left and Ali ibn Abi Talib stayed for three nights and their days. He carried out the trust that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had for the people until he finished with it, and then he caught up with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . This is what Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz narrated to me from him, that Abu al-Walid al-Faqih informed them, and he mentioned that.
