[Machine] She said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to prefer the right side in all his affairs. Then Al-Ash'ath said, "Finally, he used to prefer the right side as much as he could in his mounting, shoes, and purification."

أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُحِبُّ التَّيَمُّنَ فِي شَأْنِهِ كُلِّهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ الْأَشْعَثُ أَخِيرًا كَانَ يُحِبُّ التَّيَمُّنَ مَا اسْتَطَاعَ فِي تَرَجُّلِهِ وَنَعْلِهِ وَطُهُورِهِ

The Prophet ﷺ used to start every thing from the right (for good things) whenever it was possible in all his affairs; for example: in washing, combing or wearing shoes.

The Prophet ﷺ used to love to start doing things from the right side whenever possible, in performing ablution, putting on his shoes, and combing his hair. (Al-Ash'ath said: The Prophet ﷺ used to do so in all his affairs.)

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ loved to start from the right-hand side in his every act i. e. in wearing shoes, in combing (his hair) and in performing ablution.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُحِبُّ التَّيَمُّنَ فِي شَأْنِهِ كُلِّهِ فِي نَعْلَيْهِ وَتَرَجُّلِهِ وَطُهُورِهِ  

nasai:421Sūwayd b. Naṣr > ʿAbdullāh > Shuʿbah > al-Ashʿath b. Abū al-Shaʿthāʾ from his father > Masrūq > ʿĀʾishah

"The Prophet ﷺ used to like to start with the right as much as he could when purifying himself, putting on sandals and combing his hair" - and he (the narrator) said in Wasit (a place in Iraq): "And in all his affairs."

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to like to start with the right whenever he could, when purifying himself and when putting on shoes or combing his hair." (One of the narrators) Shu'bah said: Then I heard Al-Ash'ath in Wasit, saying that he liked to start with the right, and he preferred that in all his affaris. Then I heard him in Al-Kufah saying that he liked to start with the right whenever he could."

abudawud:4140Ḥafṣ b. ʿUmar And Muslim b. Ibrāhīm > Shuʿbah > al-Ashʿath b. Sulaym from his father > Masrūq > ʿĀʾishah

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ liked to begin with the right side as far as possible in all conditions: in his purification, and combing. The narrator Muslim added: "in using tooth-stick," and he did not mention "in all his conditions".  

Abu Dawud said: Shu'bah transmitted it from Mu'adh, but did not mention "his tooth-stick."
أبو داود:٤١٤٠حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ وَمُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الأَشْعَثِ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُحِبُّ التَّيَمُّنَ مَا اسْتَطَاعَ فِي شَأْنِهِ كُلِّهِ فِي طُهُورِهِ وَتَرَجُّلِهِ وَنَعْلِهِ قَالَ مُسْلِمٌ وَسِوَاكِهِ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ فِي شَأْنِهِ كُلِّهِ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , used to prefer the right in all his affairs, whether in his purification, wearing his shoes, or mounting his animal. Then I asked him about performing ablution with the Kufiyyah (headshawl), and he said, "Prefer the right as much as you can."
