The Apostle of Allah ﷺ used to turn to the right (at the end of the prayer).

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَنْصَرِفُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ

"I asked Anas bin Malik: 'How should I leave after I have prayed- to the right or to the left?' He said: 'I usually saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ leave to the right.'

أَمَّا أَنَا فَأَكْثَرُ مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَنْصَرِفُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ

[AI] I heard Anas saying, "I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) turning away from his right side."

سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا يَقُولُ «رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَنْصَرِفُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ»

Why do you put on the lower garment in this way? He replied: It is how I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do it. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4096)

«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَأْكُلُهُ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ used to greet by waving his right hand and then his left hand, until the whiteness of his cheeks became visible.

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يُسَلِّمُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ حَتَّى يُرَى بَيَاضُ خَدَّيْهِ

[AI] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ greeting (people) with his right hand and his left hand.

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُسَلِّمُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ

[AI] I heard Anas ibn Malik saying that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned away from the prayer to his right.

سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ انْصَرَفَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ

[AI] "I saw the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , turning away from his right."

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَنْصَرِفُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ

[AI] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pointing with his finger.

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُشِيرُ بِإِصْبَعِهِ.

Wa’il b.Hujr said that he saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raise his hands when he uttered the takbir (Allah is most great). (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 725)

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ مَعَ التَّكْبِيرِ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ used to say the salam to his right and to his left.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُسَلِّمُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ.

[AI] "He prayed with the Prophet ﷺ and conveyed the greetings of peace twice, one from his right and one from his left."

أَنَّهُ صَلَّى مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَسَلَّمَ تَسْلِيمَتَيْنِ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ

[AI] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ turning away from his sides.

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَنْصَرِفُ عَنْ شِقَّيْهِ

[AI] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to lead us in prayer, taking his left hand with his right. He would turn away from both sides, from his right and his left.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَؤُمُّنَا فَيَأْخُذُ شِمَالَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ وَكَانَ يَنْصَرِفُ عَنْ جَانِبَيْهِ جَمِيعًا عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to lead us in prayer, taking his right hand with his left, and he would turn away from both sides.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَؤُمُّنَا فَيَأْخُذُ شِمَالَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ وَكَانَ يَنْصَرِفُ عَنْ جَانِبَيْهِ جَمِيعًا

[AI] "He prayed with the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , and saw the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , turning away from his sides."

أَنَّهُ صَلَّى مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَرَأَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَنْصَرِفُ عَنْ شِقَّيْهِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wipe himself off after prayer, wiping his right and left sides.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا انْفَتَلَ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ انْفَتَلَ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ

"I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ drink standing and sitting, and he prayed barefoot and with sandals, and he left (after prayer) to the right and to the left." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1361)

شَرِبَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَائِمًا وَقَاعِدًا وَمَشَى حَافِيًا وَنَاعِلًا وَانْصَرَفَ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ

[AI] "The Prophet ﷺ used to pray while his head was slightly turned to the right and to the left."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي وَهِيَ مُعْتَرِضَةٌ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray while I was lying down on his right side and his left side.

لَقَدْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي وَأَنَا عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ مُضْطَجِعَةٌ

"We prayed with Abdullah bin Mas'ud in his house. He stood between us and we placed our hands on our knees, but he took them off and made us interlace our fingers, and said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do that.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1030)

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَفْعَلُهُ

This is how I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. (Using translation from Aḥmad 1372)

«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ

"We prayed with Abdullah bin Mas'ud in his house. He stood between us and we placed our hands on our knees, but he took them off and made us interlace our fingers, and said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do that.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1030)

وَقَالَ «رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَفْعَلُهُ»

[AI] I saw the Messenger of Allahﷺ extending his greetings with his right hand and his left hand until the whiteness of his cheek could be seen.

«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُسَلِّمُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ يَسَارِهِ حَتَّى يُرَى بَيَاضُ خَدِّهِ»

[AI] "I saw the messenger of Allah ﷺ praying like this."

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي كَذَلِكَ»

[AI] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ turning away from his left towards his house when he greeted."

«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَنْصَرِفُ عَنْ شِمَالِهِ إِلَى مَنْزِلِهِ إِذَا سَلَّمَ»

[AI] And what would prevent me when I have witnessed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ doing it.

وَمَا يَمْنَعُنِي وَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَفْعَلُهُ

I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wiping over his leather slippers (when doing wudoo’). (Using translation from Aḥmad 216)

«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْسَحُ عَلَيْهِمَا»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibiting the castration of animals.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «يَنْهَى عَنْ صَبْرِ الْبَهِيمَةِ»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbidding the patience with animals.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «يَنْهَى عَنْ صَبْرِ الْبَهِيمَةِ»

[AI] I have indeed seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mostly using his right hand.

لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَكْثَرَ مَا يَنْصَرِفُ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ

[AI] That the Prophet ﷺ used to greet by shaking hands with his right and left hand until the whiteness of his cheek could be seen.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُسَلِّمُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ حَتَّى يُرَى بَيَاضُ خَدِّهِ

[AI] That the Prophet ﷺ used to greet with his right hand and his left hand.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُسَلِّمُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to greet with his right hand and with his left hand.

«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُسَلِّمُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ»

[AI] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prostrating in Sujood.

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «يَسْجُدُ فِي ص»

"Ibn Abbas wore a ring on his right hand. And I do not doubt he said: 'I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wearing a ring on his right hand.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1742)

«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَتَخَتَّمُ فِي يَمِينِهِ»

[AI] I heard the Prophet of Allah, ﷺ , saying, "Our Lord is All-Hearing, All-Seeing," and he pointed with his hand towards his eyes.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «رَبُّنَا سَمِيعٌ بَصِيرٌ» وَأَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ إِلَى عَيْنَيْهِ

[AI] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ drinking from a cup on the day of Arafah."

«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَشْرَبُ مِنْ شَنٍّ يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ»

[AI] I saw the Prophet ﷺ greet with his right hand and his left hand until the whiteness of his cheek could be seen.

«رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يُسَلِّمُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ حَتَّى يُرَى بَيَاضُ خَدِّهِ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ used to sometimes turn to his right and sometimes to his left.

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «يَنْصَرِفُ مَرَّةً عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَمَرَّةُ عَنْ شِمَالِهِ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ used to gesture with his hand when he finished his prayer, meaning the act of saying the salaam.

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «يَنْفَتِلُ إِذَا صَلَّى عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ يَعْنِي التَّسْلِيمَ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray with us, then he would turn away to his right and left.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يُصَلِّي بِنَا فَيَنْصَرِفُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ»

"أنَّ النبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَنْصِرف عَنْ يَمِينِهِ".

" أنَّهُ ﷺ رآهُ يَنْصَرِف مَرَّةً عَنْ يَمِيِنه، وَمَرَّةً عَنْ شِمَالِهِ".
