"I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ drink standing and sitting, and he prayed barefoot and with sandals, and he left (after prayer) to the right and to the left."

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَشْرَبُ قَائِمًا وَقَاعِدًا وَيُصَلِّي حَافِيًا وَمُنْتَعِلاً وَيَنْصَرِفُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ

“The Prophet ﷺ used to lead us in prayer, and he would take hold of his left hand with his right.”

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَؤُمُّنَا فَيَأْخُذُ شِمَالَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ

“The Prophet ﷺ led us (in prayer), and he used to depart from both sides. (i.e. from either side).”

أَمَّنَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَكَانَ يَنْصَرِفُ عَنْ جَانِبَيْهِ جَمِيعًا

[AI] I heard Anas saying, "I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) turning away from his right side."

سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا يَقُولُ «رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَنْصَرِفُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ»

[AI] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ greeting (people) with his right hand and his left hand.

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُسَلِّمُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ

[AI] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying barefoot and wearing sandals, and he used to fast while traveling and break his fast. He would drink standing up and sitting down, and he would turn away from his right and left sides."

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي حَافِيًا وَنَاعِلًا وَيَصُومُ فِي السَّفَرِ وَيُفْطِرُ وَيَشْرَبُ قَائِمًا وَقَاعِدًا وَيَنْصَرِفُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ

[AI] I saw the Prophet ﷺ wiping his right and left sides in prayer, drinking while standing and sitting, praying barefoot and with shoes on, fasting while traveling and breaking the fast.

أَنَا رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَنْفَتِلُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ وَيَشْرَبُ قَائِمًا وَقَاعِدًا وَيُصَلِّي حَافِيًا وَنَاعِلًا وَيَصُومُ فِي السَّفَرِ وَيُفْطِرُ

[AI] "I saw the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , turning away from his right."

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَنْصَرِفُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ

[AI] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ turning away from his sides.

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَنْصَرِفُ عَنْ شِقَّيْهِ

[AI] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to lead us in prayer, taking his left hand with his right. He would turn away from both sides, from his right and his left.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَؤُمُّنَا فَيَأْخُذُ شِمَالَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ وَكَانَ يَنْصَرِفُ عَنْ جَانِبَيْهِ جَمِيعًا عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to lead us in prayer, taking his right hand with his left, and he would turn away from both sides.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَؤُمُّنَا فَيَأْخُذُ شِمَالَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ وَكَانَ يَنْصَرِفُ عَنْ جَانِبَيْهِ جَمِيعًا

[AI] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ turn away once to his right and once to his left.

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَنْصَرِفُ مَرَّةً عَنْ يَمِينِهِوَمَرَّةً عَنْ شِمَالِهِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wipe himself off after prayer, wiping his right and left sides.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا انْفَتَلَ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ انْفَتَلَ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ

"I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ drink standing and sitting, and he prayed barefoot and with sandals, and he left (after prayer) to the right and to the left." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1361)

شَرِبَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَائِمًا وَقَاعِدًا وَمَشَى حَافِيًا وَنَاعِلًا وَانْصَرَفَ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray while I was lying down on his right side and his left side.

لَقَدْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي وَأَنَا عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ مُضْطَجِعَةٌ

[AI] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ turning away from his left towards his house when he greeted."

«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَنْصَرِفُ عَنْ شِمَالِهِ إِلَى مَنْزِلِهِ إِذَا سَلَّمَ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to greet with his right hand and with his left hand.

«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُسَلِّمُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ used to sometimes turn to his right and sometimes to his left.

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «يَنْصَرِفُ مَرَّةً عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَمَرَّةُ عَنْ شِمَالِهِ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ used to gesture with his hand when he finished his prayer, meaning the act of saying the salaam.

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «يَنْفَتِلُ إِذَا صَلَّى عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ يَعْنِي التَّسْلِيمَ»

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «يَشْرَبُ قَائِمًا وَقَاعِدًا وَيُصَلِّي حَافِيًا وَمُنْتَعِلًا وَيَنْصَرِفُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ»

[AI] I saw the Prophet ﷺ praying barefoot and wearing sandals, sometimes standing and sometimes sitting, and he would raise his hands during his prayer, both to his right and to his left.

رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يُصَلِّي حَافِيًا وَنَاعِلًا وَقَائِمًا وَقَاعِدًا وَيَنْفَتِلُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ

[AI] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying barefoot and wearing shoes, and he would drink standing and sitting, and he would turn away from his right and left, and he would not mind which of these actions he did.

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي حَافِيًا وَمُتَنَعِّلًا وَيَشْرَبُ قَائِمًا وَقَاعِدًا وَيَنْصَرِفُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ وَلَا يُبَالِي أِيُّ ذَلِكَ كَانَ

" أنَّهُ ﷺ رآهُ يَنْصَرِف مَرَّةً عَنْ يَمِيِنه، وَمَرَّةً عَنْ شِمَالِهِ".

"كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّى حَافِيًا وَمُنْتَعِلًا، وَرَأَيْتُهُ يَنْفَتِلُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعن شِمَالِهِ".
