Praying at al-Batha with a sutrah

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out in the midday heat and prayed Zuhr at al-Batha as two rakahs, and Asr as two rakahs, with a short spear in front of him. He performed ablution, and the people began taking from the leftover water of his ablution. And in Awn's narration, a woman and a donkey passed behind him.

Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us at noon and water for ablution was brought to him. After he had performed ablution, the remaining water was taken by the people and they started smearing their bodies with it (as a blessed thing). The Prophet ﷺ offered two rakʿat of the Zuhr prayer and then two rakʿat of the ʿAsr prayer while a short spear (or stick) was there (as a Sutra) in front of him.

The Prophet ﷺ led them in prayer at al-Batha', with a staff set up in front of him. (He prayed) two rak'ahs of the Zuhr prayer and two rak'ahs of the 'Asr prayer. The women and the donkeys would pass in front of the staff. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 688)
