"I came to the Messenger of Allah [SAW] and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, we have grapevines and Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, has revealed that Khamr (wine) is forbidden, so what should we do?' He said: 'Make raisins.' I said: 'What should we do with the raisins?' He said: 'Soak them in the morning and drink them in the evening, and soak them in the evening and drink them in the morning.' I said: 'Can we leave it until it gets stronger?' He said: 'Do not put it in clay vessels, rather put it in skins, for if it stays there for a long time, it will turn into vinegar.'"  

قَدِمْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا أَصْحَابُ كَرْمٍ وَقَدْ أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ ﷻ تَحْرِيمَ الْخَمْرِ فَمَاذَا نَصْنَعُ قَالَ تَتَّخِذُونَهُ زَبِيبًا قُلْتُ فَنَصْنَعُ بِالزَّبِيبِ مَاذَا قَالَ تَنْقَعُونَهُ عَلَى غَدَائِكُمْ وَتَشْرَبُونَهُ عَلَى عَشَائِكُمْ وَتَنْقَعُونَهُ عَلَى عَشَائِكُمْ وَتَشْرَبُونَهُ عَلَى غَدَائِكُمْ قُلْتُ أَفَلاَ نُؤَخِّرُهُ حَتَّى يَشْتَدَّ قَالَ لاَ تَجْعَلُوهُ فِي الْقُلَلِ وَاجْعَلُوهُ فِي الشِّنَانِ فَإِنَّهُ إِنْ تَأَخَّرَ صَارَ خَلاًّ  

[Machine] A man from among them asked the Prophet ﷺ , "O Messenger of Allah, we have come from where you know, and we have settled among the people whom you know. So, who is our guardian?" He replied, "Allah and His Messenger." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, we used to be people of generosity and wine-drinking, and Allah has prohibited wine. So, what should we do with our generosity?" He said, "Make it dried grapes (raisins)." They asked, "What should we do with raisins?" He said, "Soak them in water till they become soft and drink the water for your meals, drink it for your dinner, and soak it for your dinner, and drink it for your meals. When the two dark parts (dawn and dusk) meet, it will turn into wine."  

أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْهُمْ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا قَدْ خَرَجْنَا مِنْ حَيْثُ عَلِمْتَ وَنَزَلْنَا بَيْنَ ظَهْرَانَيْ مَنْ قَدْ عَلِمْتَ فَمَنْ وَلِيُّنَا؟ قَالَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا كُنَّا أَصْحَابَ كَرْمٍ وَخَمْرٍ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ حَرَّمَ الْخَمْرَ فَمَا نَصْنَعُ بِالْكَرْمِ؟ قَالَ اصْنَعُوهُ زَبِيبًا قَالُوا فَمَا نَصْنَعُ بِالزَّبِيبِ؟ قَالَ انْقَعُوا فِي الشِّنَانِ انْقَعُوهُ عَلَى غَدَائِكُمْ وَاشْرَبُوهُ عَلَى عَشَائِكُمْ وَانْقَعُوهُ عَلَى عَشَائِكُمْ وَاشْرَبُوهُ عَلَى غَدَائِكُمْ فَإِنَّهُ إِذَا أَتَى عَلَيْهِ الْعَصْرَانِ كَانَ خَلًّا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَكُونَ خَمْرًا  

[Machine] I went to the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , and said, "O Messenger of Allah, we are people who have grapes and dates, and the prohibition of alcohol has been revealed. What should we do?" He said, "You make it into raisins." They asked, "What should we do with the raisins?" He said, "Soak them in your food, drink them with your dinner, soak them with your dinner, and drink them with your food." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, shouldn't we leave it until it becomes strong?" He said, "Do not put it in a small container or in a barrel, put it in a large container, for if it is delayed beyond its time, it turns into vinegar." I said, "O Prophet of Allah, we are those whom you have taught and given life from where you have known. And we are among the people whom you have known, so who is our guardian?" He said, "Allah and His Messenger."  

قَدِمْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّا أَصْحَابُ أَعْنَابٍ وَكُرُومٍ وَقَدْ نَزَلَ تَحْرِيمُ الْخَمْرِ فَمَاذَا نَصْنَعُ؟ قَالَ «تَتَّخِذُونَهُ زَبِيبًا» قَالُوا فَمَا نَصْنَعُ بِالزَّبِيبِ؟ قَالَ «تُنْقِعُونَهُ عَلَى غَدَائِكُمْ وَتَشْرَبُونَهُ عَلَى عَشَائِكُمْ وَتَنْقَعُونَهُ عَلَى عَشَائِكُمْ وَتَشْرَبُونَهُ عَلَى غَدَائِكُمْ» قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَفَلَا نَدَعَهُ حَتَّى يَشْتَدَّ؟ قَالَ فَلَا تَجْعَلُوهُ فِي الْقِلَالِ وَلَا الدُّبَّاءِ وَاجْعَلُوهُ فِي الشِّنَانِ فَإِنَّهُ إِنْ تَأَخَّرْ عَنْ عَصْرِهِ صَارَ خَلًّا قُلْتُ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ نَحْنُ مَنْ قَدْ عَلِمْتَ وَحَيِّنَا مِنْ حَيْثُ قَدْ عَلِمْتَ وَنَحْنُ بَيْنَ ظَهْرَانَي مَنْ قَدْ عَلِمْتَ فَمَنْ وَلِيُّنَا؟ قَالَ «اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ»

قَدِمْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّا أَصْحَابُ كَرْمٍ وَقَدْ أَنْزَلَ اللهُ تَحْرِيمَ الْخَمْرِ فَمَاذَا نَصْنَعُ؟ قَالَ «تَتَّخِذُونَهُ زَبِيبًا» قُلْتُ فَنَصْنَعُ بِالزَّبِيبِ مَاذَا؟ قَالَ «تَنْقَعُونَهُ عَلَى غَدَائِكُمْ وَتَشْرَبُونَهُ عَلَى عَشَائِكُمْ وَتَنْقَعُونَهُ عَلَى عَشَائِكُمْ وَتَشْرَبُونَهُ عَلَى غَدَائِكُمْ» قُلْتُ أَفَلَا نُؤَخِّرُهُ حَتَّى يَشْتَدَّ؟ قَالَ «فَلَا تَجْعَلُوهُ فِي الْقُلَلِ وَاجْعَلُوهُ فِي الشِّنَانِ فَإِنَّهُ إِنْ تَأَخَّرَ صَارَ خَلًّا»  

"عَنْ عَبْد الله بن الدَّيلَمى، عَنْ أَبِيهِ فَيْرُوزَ قَالَ: قَدِمْتُ عَلَى رسُول الله ﷺ فَقُلتُ يَا رَسُولَ الله: إنَّا أَصْحَاب كَرُوم وأَعْنَابٍ، وَقَدْ نَزَلَ تَحْريم الْخَمْر فَمَاذَا نَصْنَعُ بِهَا؟ قَالَ: تَتَّخِذُونَهُ زَبيبًا، قَالَ: فَنَصْنَع بالزَّبِيبِ مَاذَا يَا رَسُولَ الله؟ قَالَ: تَنْقَعُونَه عَلى غَدائكمْ فَتَشْرَبُونَهُ عَلى عَشائكم، وَتَنْقَعُونَهُ عَلى عَشَائِكم فَتَشْربُونَهُ عَلَى غَدَائِكُم، قلْتُ يَا رَسُول الله: أَفَلَا نَتركهُ حَتَّى يَشْتَد؟ قَالَ: فَلَا تَجْعَلُوه فِى الدِّنَانِ واجْعَلُوه فِى الشِّنَان، وَإِنَّه إِن تَأَخَّر عَنْ عَصْرِه صَارَ خَلّا، قُلْتُ يَا رَسُول الله: نَحنُ مِمَّن قَدْ عَلِمْت وَنَحنُ بَيْن ظَهْرَانِى مَنْ قَد عَلِمت فَمَن وَلِيُّنَا؟ قَالَ: الله ورسُوله، قُلْتُ: حَسبُنَا يَا رَسُولَ الله".
