The Prophet ﷺ said: to Ali: Do not give a second look, Ali, (because) while you are not to blame for the first, you have no right to the second.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِعَلِيٍّ يَا عَلِيُّ لاَ تُتْبِعِ النَّظْرَةَ النَّظْرَةَ فَإِنَّ لَكَ الأُولَى وَلَيْسَتْ لَكَ الآخِرَةُ

from his father (from the Prophet ﷺ) who said: "O 'Ali! Do not follow a look with a look, the first is for you, but the next is not for you."

يَا عَلِيُّ لاَ تُتْبِعِ النَّظْرَةَ النَّظْرَةَ فَإِنَّ لَكَ الأُولَى وَلَيْسَتْ لَكَ الآخِرَةُ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِعَلِيٍّ «يَا عَلِيُّ لَا تُتْبِعِ النَّظْرَةَ النَّظْرَةَ فَإِنَّ لَكَ الْأُولَى وَلَيْسَتْ لَكَ الْآخِرَةُ»

“O ʿAli, you have a treasure in Paradise and you are with two harns of this ummah. Do not follow one glance with another; you may be allowed the first but not the second.” (Using translation from Aḥmad 1373)

لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «يَا عَلِيُّ إِنَّ لَكَ كَنْزًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَإِنَّكَ ذُو قَرْنَيْهَا فَلَا تُتْبِعَنَّ النَّظْرَةَ نَظْرَةً فَإِنَّ لَكَ الْأُولَى وَلَيْسَتْ لَكَ الْآخِرَةُ»

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِعَلِيٍّ ؓ يَا عَلِيُّ لَا تُتْبِعِ النَّظْرَةَ النَّظْرَةَ فَإِنَّ لَكَ الْأُولَى وَلَيْسَتْ لَكَ الْآخِرَةُ وَاللهُ تَعَالَى أَعْلَمُ

"يَا عَلِىُّ: إِنَّ لَكَ كَنْزًا فِى الجَنَّةِ، وَإِنَّكَ ذُو قَرْنَيْهَا، فَلاَ تُتْبِعَنَّ النَّظرَةَ نَظرَةً، فإِنَّ لَكَ الأولَى، وَلَيْسَتْ لَكَ الآخِرَةُ".

"يَا عَلِيُّ: لاَ تُتْبعِ النَّظرَةَ النَّظرَةَ؛ فَإنَّ لَكَ الأولَى وَلَيْسَتْ لَكَ الآخِرَة".

"عَنْ عَلِىٍّ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ الله ﷺ أَلَا أُبَشِّرُكَ؟ قُلْتُ: بَلَى،

قَالَ: إِنَّ لَكَ لَكَنْزًا في الْجَنَّةِ، وَإِنَّكَ لَذُو قَرْنَى (*) هَذَا الْكَنْزِ، فَلَا تُتْبِعِ النَّظْرَةَ النَّظرَةَ، فَإِنَّ لَكَ الأُولَى وَعَليْكَ الآخِرَةُ".

"عَنْ عَلِىٍّ أَنَّ النَّبِىَّ ﷺ قَالَ لَهُ: يَا عَلِىُّ إِنَّ لَكَ كَنْزًا في الْجَنَّةِ، وَإِنَّكَ ذُو قَرْنَيْهَا، فَلَا تُتْبِعِ النَّظْرَةَ النَّظْرَةَ، فَإِنَّ لَكَ الأُولَى وَلَيْسَتْ لَكَ الآخِرَةُ".
