ahmad:7619ʿAffān > ʿAbd al-Wāḥid b. Ziyād > Maʿmar > al-Zuhrī > Ḥumayd b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman > Abū Hurayrah

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no bird omen, and the best of them is a good omen, so he mentioned something similar to it."  

أحمد:٧٦١٩حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا طِيَرَةَ وَخَيْرُهَا الْفَأْلُ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ  

ahmad:7620ʿAbd al-Razzāq And ʿAbd al-Aʿlá > Maʿmar > al-Zuhrī > Abū Salamah > Abū Hurayrah

The Prophet ﷺ said, 'No 'Adwa (i.e. no contagious disease is conveyed to others without Allah's permission); nor (any evil omen in the month of) Safar; nor Hama" A bedouin said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! What about the camels which, when on the sand (desert) look like deers, but when a mangy camel mixes with them they all get infected with mange?" On that Allah s Apostle said, "Then who conveyed the (mange) disease to the first (mangy) camel?" (Using translation from Bukhārī 5770)  

أحمد:٧٦٢٠حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ وَعَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا عَدْوَى وَلَا صَفَرَ وَلَا هَامَةَ قَالَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ فَمَا بَالُ الْإِبِلِ تَكُونُ فِي الرَّمْلِ كَأَنَّهَا الظِّبَاءُ فَيُخَالِطُهَا الْبَعِيرُ الْأَجْرَبُ فَيُجْرِبُهَا؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَمَنْ كَانَ أَعْدَى الْأَوَّلَ؟

"Whoever keeps a dog, except a dog for hunting, herding livestock or farming, one Qurat will be deducted from his reward each day." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4288)  

أحمد:٧٦٢١حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنِ اتَّخَذَ كَلْبًا إِلَّا كَلْبَ صَيْدٍ أَوْ زَرْعٍ أَوْ مَاشِيَةٍ نَقَصَ مِنْ أَجْرِهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ قِيرَاطٌ

[Machine] "From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said: Our Lord, the Blessed and Exalted, descends every night when the last third of the night remains, to the lowest heaven and says, 'Who is calling upon Me, so that I may answer him? Who is seeking My forgiveness, so that I may forgive him? Who is asking of Me, so that I may give him?'"  

أحمد:٧٦٢٢حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَالْأَغَرُّ صَاحِبُ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ أَخْبَرَهُمَا

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ ينْزِلُ رَبُّنَا تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى كُلَّ لَيْلَةٍ حِينَ يَبْقَى ثُلُثُ اللَّيْلِ الْآخِرُ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا فَيَقُولُ مَنْ يَدْعُونِي فَأَسْتَجِيبَ لَهُ؟ مَنْ يَسْتَغْفِرُنِي فَأَغْفِرَ لَهُ؟ مَنْ يَسْأَلُنِي فَأُعْطِيَهُ؟  

ahmad:7623ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Maʿmar > Ayyūb > Ibn Sīrīn > Abū Hurayrah > Hammām b. Munabbih > Abū Hurayrah

Verily, there are ninety-nine names for Allah, i. e. hundred excepting one. He who enumerates them would get into Paradise. And Hammam has made this addition on the authority of Abu Huraira who reported it from Allah's Apostle ﷺ that he said:" He is Odd (one) and loves odd number." (Using translation from Muslim 2677b)  

أحمد:٧٦٢٣حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَعَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ لِلَّهِ تِسْعَةً وَتِسْعِينَ اسْمًا مِائَةً إِلَّا وَاحِدًا مَنْ أَحْصَاهَا دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ وَزَادَ فِيهِ هَمَّامٌ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِنَّهُ وِتْرٌ يُحِبُّ الْوِتْرَ

[Machine] "The worst kind of food is the food served at a banquet, which is only offered to the rich and not to the poor, and this is unjust. Whoever neglects it has indeed disobeyed [God] and is considered arrogant. Perhaps he said: 'Whoever does not respond to the invitation has indeed disobeyed Allah and His Messenger.'  

أحمد:٧٦٢٤حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ وَالْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

شَرُّ الطَّعَامِ طَعَامُ الْوَلِيمَةِ يُدْعَى الْغَنِيُّ وَيُتْرَكُ الْمِسْكِينُ وَهِيَ حَقٌّ وَمَنْ تَرَكَهَا فَقَدْ عَصَى وَكَانَ مَعْمَرٌ رُبَّمَا قَالَ وَمَنْ لَمْ يُجِبِ الدَّعْوَةَ فَقَدْ عَصَى اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ  

ahmad:7625ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Maʿmar > Suhayl b. Abū Ṣāliḥ from his father > Abū Hurayrah

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed, when Allah loves a servant, He says to Gabriel: 'Verily, I love so-and-so, so you should love him.' Then Gabriel proclaims to the inhabitants of heaven: 'Verily, your Lord loves so-and-so, so you should love him.' So the inhabitants of heaven love him, and acceptance for him is placed on earth. And when Allah hates a servant, similar to that happens."  

أحمد:٧٦٢٥حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ اللهَ إِذَا أَحَبَّ عَبْدًا قَالَ لِجِبْرِيلَ إِنِّي أُحِبُّ فُلَانًا فَأَحِبَّهُ قَالَ فَيَقُولُ جِبْرِيلُ لِأَهْلِ السَّمَاءِ إِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ يُحِبُّ فُلَانًا فَأَحِبُّوهُ قَالَ فَيُحِبُّهُ أَهْلُ السَّمَاءِ قَالَ وَيُوضَعُ لَهُ الْقَبُولُ فِي الْأَرْضِ قَالَ وَإِذَا أَبْغَضَ فَمِثْلُ ذَلِكَ

He who believes in Allah and in the last day should honour his guest; he who believes in Allah and in the last day should not harm his neighbor; he who believes in Allah and in the last day should speak good or keep silence. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 5154)  

أحمد:٧٦٢٦حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلَا يُؤْذِ جَارَهُ مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيُكْرِمْ ضَيْفَهُ مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيَقُلْ خَيْرًا أَوْ لِيَصْمُتْ  

ahmad:7627ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Maʿmar > Ayyūb > Ibn Sīrīn > Abū Hurayrah

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "The people of Yemen have come to you; they have the softest hearts in faith, and wisdom is from Yemen, and understanding is from Yemen."  

أحمد:٧٦٢٧حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَتَاكُمْ أَهْلُ الْيَمَنِ هُمْ أَرَقُّ قُلُوبًا الْإِيمَانُ يَمَانٍ وَالْحِكْمَةُ يَمَانِيَةٌ وَالْفِقْهُ يَمَانٍ  

ahmad:7628ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Maʿmar > al-Zuhrī > Abū Salamah b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman And ʿUbayd Allāh b. ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUtbah > Abū Hurayrah

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Shall I not inform you about the best houses of the Ansar (the Helpers)?" They said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "The descendants of Abdul Ashhal, who are the lineage of Sa'd bin Mu'adh." They said, "Then who, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Then the descendants of An-Najjar." They said, "Then who, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Then the descendants of Al-Harith bin Al-Khazraj." They said, "Then who, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Then the descendants of Sa'ida." They said, "Then who, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Then in every house of the Ansar, there is goodness."  

أحمد:٧٦٢٨حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَعُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ أَنَّهُمَا سَمِعَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِخَيْرِ دُورِ الْأَنْصَارِ؟ قَالُوا بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ بَنُو عَبْدِ الْأَشْهَلِ وَهُمْ رَهْطُ سَعْدِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ قَالُوا ثُمَّ مَنْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟قَالَ ثُمَّ بَنُو النَّجَّارِ قَالُوا ثُمَّ مَنْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ ثُمَّ بَنُو الْحَارِثِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ قَالُوا ثُمَّ مَنْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ ثُمَّ بَنُو سَاعِدَةَ قَالُوا ثُمَّ مَنْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ ثُمَّ فِي كُلِّ دُورِ الْأَنْصَارِ خَيْرٌ  

ahmad:7629Maʿmar > Thābit And Qatādah > Anas b. Mālik > Hadhā al-Ḥadīth Illā

[Machine] He said, "The sons of An-Najjar, then the sons of Abd al-Ashhal."  

أحمد:٧٦٢٩قَالَ مَعْمَرٌ أَخْبَرَنِي ثَابِتٌ وَقَتَادَةُ أَنَّهُمَا سَمِعَا أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَذْكُرُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ إِلَّا

أَنَّهُ قَالَ بَنُو النَّجَّارِ ثُمَّ بَنُو عَبْدِ الْأَشْهَلِ  

ahmad:7630ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Maʿmar > Muḥammad b. Ziyād a freed slave of Banī Jumaḥ > Abū Hurayrah

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "While a man was proudly displaying his attire, amazed by his turban, Allah caused the earth to swallow him and he continues to sink in it or he said, he will keep sinking in it until the Day of Resurrection."  

أحمد:٧٦٣٠حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي جُمَحَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَيْنَا رَجُلٌ يَتَبَخْتَرُ فِي حُلَّةٍ مُعْجَبٌ بِجُمَّتِهِ قَدْ أَسْبَلَ إِزَارَهُ إِذْ خَسَفَ اللهُ بِهِ فَهُوَ يَتَجَلْجَلُ أَوْ قَالَ يَهْوِي فِيهَا إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ  

ahmad:7631ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Maʿmar > al-Zuhrī > Thābit b. Qays > Abū Hurayrah > Akhadhat al-Nās Rīḥ Biṭarīq Makkah And ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb Ḥāj Fāshtaddat ʿAlayhim > ʿUmar Liman Ḥawlah Man

[Machine] They asked me about the wind, but I could not provide them with any information. Then, Omar asked me about it, so I made an effort and followed my camel until I caught up with him. I said, "O Amir al-Mu'minin, I was informed that you asked about the wind. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say that the wind is from the spirit of Allah. It brings mercy and punishment. So, when you see it, do not curse it, but seek the goodness in it and seek refuge in Allah from its evil."  

أحمد:٧٦٣١حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ حَدَّثَنِي ثَابِتُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ أَخَذَتِ النَّاسَ رِيحٌ بِطَرِيقِ مَكَّةَ وَعُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ حَاجٌّ فَاشْتَدَّتْ عَلَيْهِمْ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ لِمَنْ حَوْلَهُ مَنْ

يُحَدِّثُنَا عَنِ الرِّيحِ؟ فَلَمْ يُرْجِعُوا إِلَيْهِ شَيْئًا فَبَلَغَنِي الَّذِي سَأَلَ عَنْهُ عُمَرُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ فَاسْتَحْثَثْتُ رَاحِلَتِي حَتَّى أَدْرَكْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أُخْبِرْتُ أَنَّكَ سَأَلْتَ عَنِ الرِّيحِ وَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ الرِّيحُ مِنْ رَوْحِ اللهِ تَأْتِي بِالرَّحْمَةِ وَتَأْتِي بِالْعَذَابِفَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهَا فَلَا تَسُبُّوهَا وَسَلُوا اللهَ خَيْرَهَا وَاسْتَعِيذُوا بِهِ مِنْ شَرِّهَا  

ahmad:7632ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Maʿmar > al-Zuhrī > Ibn al-Musayyib And ʾAbī Salamah > Abū Hurayrah

: “The Messenger of Allah said: ‘I have been sent with concise speech and I have been supported with fear. While I was sleeping, the keys to the treasures of the Earth were brought to me and placed in my hands.’” Abu Hurairah said: “The Messenger of Allah has gone and you are acquiring them.” (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3087)   

أحمد:٧٦٣٢حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ وَأَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ نُصِرْتُ بِالرُّعْبِوَأُعْطِيتُ جَوَامِعَ الْكَلِمِ وَبَيْنَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ إِذْ جِيءَ بِمَفَاتِيحِ خَزَائِنِ الْأَرْضِ فَوُضِعَتْ فِي يَدَيَّ فَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ لَقَدْ ذَهَبَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَنْتُمْ تَنْتَثِلُونَهَا

"Whoever spends on a pair (of things) in the cause of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, he will be called in Paradise: 'O slave of Allah, here is prosperity, Whoever is one of the people of Salah, he will be called from the gate of salah. Whoever is on of the people of charity, he will be called from the gate of Ar-Rayyan.' Abu Bakr As-Siddiq said: 'O Messenger of Allah, no distress or need will befall the one who is called from those gates. Will there be anyone who will be called from all these gates?' The Messenger of Allah said: 'Yes, and I hope that you will be one of them."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2238)   

أحمد:٧٦٣٣حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ أَنْفَقَ زَوْجَيْنِ مِنْ مَالِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ دُعِيَ مِنْ أَبْوَابِ الْجَنَّةِ وَلِلْجَنَّةِ أَبْوَابٌ فَمَنْ كَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الصَّلَاةِ دُعِيَ مِنْ بَابِ الصَّلَاةِ وَمَنْ كَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الصَّدَقَةِ دُعِيَ مِنْ بَابِ الصَّدَقَةِ وَمَنْ كَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجِهَادِ دُعِيَ مِنْ بَابِ الْجِهَادِ وَمَنْ كَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الصِّيَامِ دُعِيَ مِنْ بَابِ الرَّيَّانِ فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَاللهِ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا عَلَى أَحَدٍ مِنْ ضَرُورَةٍ مِنْ أَيِّهَا دُعِيَ فَهَلْ يُدْعَى مِنْهَا كُلِّهَا أَحَدٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنِّي أَرْجُو أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنْهُمْ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed, when a servant gives in charity from what is good, Allah accepts it from him and takes it in His right hand, and nurtures it as one of you nurtures his foal or young animal. And indeed, a man may give a morsel in charity which grows in the Hand of Allah, or he said, in the palm of Allah, until it becomes like a mountain. So give in charity."  

أحمد:٧٦٣٤حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ إِذَاتَصَدَّقَ مِنْ طَيِّبٍ تَقَبَّلَهَا اللهُ مِنْهُ وَأَخَذَهَا بِيَمِينِهِ وَرَبَّاهَا كَمَا يُرَبِّي أَحَدُكُمْ مُهْرَهُ أَوْ فَصِيلَهُ وَإِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَتَصَدَّقُ بِاللُّقْمَةِ فَتَرْبُو فِي يَدِ اللهِ أَوْ قَالَ فِي كَفِّ اللهِ حَتَّى تَكُونَ مِثْلَ الْجَبَلِ فَتَصَدَّقُوا

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, Adam and Moses debated, and Moses said to Adam, "O Adam, it is you who brought your descendants into the Fire?" Adam replied, "O Moses, Allah chose you with His message and His words and He sent down upon you the Torah. Did you find that I had any intention to descend?" Moses said, "Yes." So, Adam silenced him.  

أحمد:٧٦٣٥حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ احْتَجَّ آدَمُ وَمُوسَى فَقَالَ مُوسَى لِآدَمَ يَا آدَمُ أَنْتَ الَّذِي أَدْخَلْتَ ذُرِّيَّتَكَ النَّارَ؟ فَقَالَ آدَمُ يَا مُوسَى اصْطَفَاكَ اللهُ بِرِسَالَتِهِ وَبِكَلَامِهِ وَأَنْزَلَ عَلَيْكَ التَّوْرَاةَ فَهَلْ وَجَدْتَ أَنِّي أَهْبِطُ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَحَجَّهُ آدَمُ

“I heard Salim bin ‘Abdullah narrating from his father that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘You should eat this black seed, for in it there is healing from every disease, except the Sam (death).’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3448)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لِلشُّونِيزِ عَلَيْكُمْ بِهَذِهِ الْحَبَّةِ السَّوْدَاءِ فَإِنَّ فِيهَا شِفَاءً مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ إِلَّا السَّامَ يُرِيدُ الْمَوْتَ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The doors of Paradise are opened every Monday and Thursday. The deeds of people are presented on every Monday and Thursday, and Allah forgives every slave who does not associate anything with Him except for two people who have a dispute. Allah says to the angels, 'Leave them until they reconcile.'"  

أحمد:٧٦٣٩حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ تُفْتَحُ أَبْوَابُ الْجَنَّةِ فِي كُلِّ اثْنَيْنِ وَخَمِيسٍ قَالَ مَعْمَرٌ وَقَالَ غَيْرُ سُهَيْلٍ وَتُعْرَضُ الْأَعْمَالُ فِي كُلِّ اثْنَيْنِ وَخَمِيسٍ فَيَغْفِرُ اللهُ ﷻ لِكُلِّ عَبْدٍ لَا يُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئًا إِلَّا الْمُتَشَاحِنَيْنِ يَقُولُ اللهُ لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ ذَرُوهُمَا حَتَّى يَصْطَلِحَا

I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: One is not strong because of one's wrestling skillfully. They said: Messenger of Allah, then who is strong? He said: He who controls his anger when he is in a fit of rage. (Using translation from Muslim 2609b)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَيْسَ الشَّدِيدُ بِالصُّرَعَةِ قَالُوا فَمَنِ الشَّدِيدُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ الَّذِي يَمْلِكُ نَفْسَهُ عِنْدَ الْغَضَبِ

"A man asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ which deed is best. He said: 'Faith in Allah.' He said: 'Then what?' He said: 'Jihad in the cause of Allah.' He said: 'Then what?' He said: 'Hajjun Mabrur.'" [1] [1] Hajj, that is accepted, or free of sin. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3130)

سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ الْإِيمَانُ بِاللهِ قَالَ ثُمَّ مَاذَا؟ قَالَ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ قَالَ ثُمَّ مَاذَا؟ قَالَ ثُمَّ حَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ

"In the end of time, the dreams of a believer will hardly ever fail to come true, and the most truthful of them in dreams will be the truest in speech among them. And dreams are three types: The good dreams wihich is glad tidings from Allah, dreams about something that has happened to the man himself, and dreams in which the Shaitan frightens someone. So when one of you sees what he dislikes, then he should get up and perform Salat." Abu Hurairah said: "I like fetters and dislikes, the iron collar. And fetters refers to being firm in the religion." He said: "The Prophet (s. a. w) said: 'Dreams are a portion among the forty_six portions of Prophethood." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2291)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ فِي آخِرِ الزَّمَانِ لَا تَكَادُ رُؤْيَا الْمُؤْمِنِ تَكْذِبُ وَأَصْدَقُكُمْ رُؤْيَا أَصْدَقُكُمْ حَدِيثًا وَالرُّؤْيَا ثَلَاثَةٌ الرُّؤْيَا الْحَسَنَةُ بُشْرَى مِنَ اللهِ ﷻ وَالرُّؤْيَا يُحَدِّثُ بِهَا الرَّجُلُ نَفْسَهُ وَالرُّؤْيَا تَحْزِينٌ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ فَإِذَا رَأَى أَحَدُكُمْ رُؤْيَا يَكْرَهُهَا فَلَا يُحَدِّثْ بِهَا أَحَدًا وَلْيَقُمْ فَلْيُصَلِّ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ يُعْجِبُنِي الْقَيْدُ وَأَكْرَهُ الْغُلَّ الْقَيْدُ ثَبَاتٌ فِي الدِّينِ وَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ رُؤْيَا الْمُؤْمِنِ جُزْءٌ مِنْ سِتَّةٍ وَأَرْبَعِينَ جُزْءًا مِنَ النُّبُوَّةِ

The vision of a believer is the forty-sixth part of Prophecy. (Using translation from Muslim 2264a)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ رُؤْيَا الْمُؤْمِنِ جُزْءٌ مِنْ سِتَّةٍ وَأَرْبَعِينَ جُزْءًا مِنَ النُّبُوَّةِ

[Machine] In a gathering that included Abu Huraira, I ask you by Allah, O Abu Huraira, did you hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Answer me, may Allah support you with the Holy Spirit?" And he said, "O Allah, yes."  

أحمد:٧٦٤٤حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ أَنَّ حَسَّانَ قَالَ

فِي حَلْقَةٍ فِيهِمْ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ أَنْشُدُكَ اللهَ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ هَلْ سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ أَجِبْ عَنِّي أَيَّدَكَ اللهُ بِرُوحِ الْقُدُسِ ؟ فَقَالَ اللهُمَّ نَعَمْ

My eare listened and my eye saw when Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke and said: He who believes In Allah and the eireafter should show respect to the guest even with utmost kindness and courtesy. They said: Messenger of Allah, what is this utmost kindness and courtesy? He replied: It is for a day and a night. Hospitality extends for three days, and what is beyond that is a Sadaqa for him; and he who believes in Allah and the Hereafter should say something good or keep quiet. (Using translation from Muslim 48b)  

أحمد:٧٦٤٥حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيُكْرِمْ ضَيْفَهُ

You sent me to a servant. who did not want to die. Allah restored his eye to its proper place (and revived his eyesight), and then said: Go back to him and tell him that if he wants life he must place his hand on the back of an ox, and he would be granted as many years of life as the number of hair covered by his hand. He (Moses) said: My Lord what would happen then He said: Then you must court death. He said: Let it be now. And he supplicated Allah to bring him close to the sacred land. Thereupon Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: If I were there, I would have shown you his grave beside the road at the red mound. (Using translation from Muslim 2372a)  

أحمد:٧٦٤٦حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

أُرْسِلَ مَلَكُ الْمَوْتِ إِلَى مُوسَى فَلَمَّا جَاءَهُ صَكَّهُ فَفَقَأَ عَيْنَهُ فَرَجَعَ إِلَى رَبِّهِ ﷻ فَقَالَ أَرْسَلْتَنِي إِلَى عَبْدٍ لَا يُرِيدُ الْمَوْتَ قَالَ فَرَدَّ اللهُ ﷻ إِلَيْهِ عَيْنَهُ وَقَالَ ارْجِعْ إِلَيْهِ فَقُلْ لَهُ يَضَعُ يَدَهُ عَلَى مَتْنِ ثَوْرٍ فَلَهُ بِمَا غَطَّتْ يَدُهُ بِكُلِّ شَعْرَةٍ سَنَةٌ فَقَالَ أَيْ رَبِّ ثُمَّ مَهْ؟ قَالَ ثُمَّ الْمَوْتُ قَالَ فَالْآنَ فَسَأَلَ اللهَ أَنْ يُدْنِيَهُ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ الْمُقَدَّسَةِ رَمْيَةً بِحَجَرٍ قَالَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَلَوْ كُنْتُ ثَمَّ لَأَرَيْتُكُمْ قَبْرَهُ إِلَى جَانِبِ الطَّرِيقِ تَحْتَ الْكَثِيبِ الْأَحْمَرِ  

ahmad:7647ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Maʿmar > Lī al-Zuhrī Alā Uḥaddithuk Biḥadīthayn ʿAjībayn > al-Zuhrī > Ḥumayd b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. ʿAwf > Abū Hurayrah

“A man went to extremes in committing sins. When death came to him, he left instructions to his sons, saying: ‘When I die, burn me, then grind me into powder, then scatter me in the wind and in the sea, for by Allah, if my Lord has power over me, He will subject me to a punishment that He has never subjected anyone to.’ So they did that to him, then (Allah) said to the earth: ‘Return what you have taken,’ and there he was, standing. He said to him: ‘What made you do what you have done?’ He said: ‘Fear of You, O Lord.’ So He forgave him because of that (fear).” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4255)  

أحمد:٧٦٤٧حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ قَالَ قَالَ

لِي الزُّهْرِيُّ أَلَا أُحَدِّثُكَ بِحَدِيثَيْنِ عَجِيبَيْنِ؟ قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ أَسْرَفَ رَجُلٌ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ فَلَمَّا حَضَرَهُ الْمَوْتُ أَوْصَى بَنِيهِ فَقَالَ إِذَا أَنَا مِتُّ فَأَحْرِقُونِي ثُمَّ اسْحَقُونِي ثُمَّ اذْرُونِي فِي الرِّيحِ فِي الْبَحْرِ فَوَاللهِ لَئِنْ قَدَرَ عَلَيَّ رَبِّي لَيُعَذِّبَنِّي عَذَابًا مَا عُذِّبَهُ أَحَدٌ قَالَ فَفَعَلُوا ذَلِكَ بِهِ فَقَالَ اللهُ لِلْأَرْضِ أَدِّي مَا أَخَذْتِ فَإِذَا هُوَ قَائِمٌ فَقَالَلَهُ مَا حَمَلَكَ عَلَى مَا صَنَعْتَ؟ قَالَ خَشْيَتُكَ يَا رَبِّ أَوْ مَخَافَتُكَ فَغَفَرَ لَهُ بِذَلِكَ

“A woman entered Hell because of a cat which she tied up and did not feed, or let it loose to eat of the vermin of the earth, until it died.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4256)  

أحمد:٧٦٤٨قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ وَحَدَّثَنِي حُمَيْدٌ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ دَخَلَتِ امْرَأَةٌ النَّارَ فِي هِرَّةٍ رَبَطَتْهَا فَلَا هِيَ أَطْعَمَتْهَا وَلَا هِيَ أَرْسَلَتْهَا تَأْكُلُ مِنْ خَشَاشِ الْأَرْضِ حَتَّى مَاتَتْ قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ ذَلِكَ أَنْ لَا يَتَّكِلَ رَجُلٌ وَلَا يَيْأَسَ رَجُلٌ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ kissed Hassan bin Ali and Al-Aqra' bin Habis Al-Tamimi while sitting. Al-Aqra' then said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have ten children and I have never kissed any of them." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ looked at him and said, "Whoever does not show mercy will not be shown mercy."  

أحمد:٧٦٤٩حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَبَّلَ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ وَالْأَقْرَعُ بْنُ حَابِسٍ التَّمِيمِيُّ جَالِسٌ فَقَالَ الْأَقْرَعُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ لِي عَشَرَةً مِنَ الْوَلَدِ مَا قَبَّلْتُ إِنْسَانًا مِنْهُمْ قَطُّ قَالَ فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنَّ مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمُ لَا يُرْحَمُ

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ delivered a sermon to Umm Hani bint Abi Talib. She said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have grown old and I have children." The Prophet ﷺ said, "The best women who ride camels are the women of Quraysh. They are the most compassionate towards their young in their childhood and take care of them when they are married. Abu Huraira said, "Maryam, the daughter of Imran, did not ride a camel."  

أحمد:٧٦٥٠حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ خَطَبَ أُمَّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي قَدْ كَبِرْتُ وَلِي عِيَالٌ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ خَيْرُ نِسَاءٍ رَكِبْنَ الْإِبِلَ نِسَاءُ قُرَيْشٍ أَحْنَاهُ عَلَى وَلَدٍفِي صِغَرِهِ وَأَرْعَاهُ عَلَى زَوْجٍ فِي ذَاتِ يَدِهِ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ وَلَمْ تَرْكَبْ مَرْيَمُ بِنْتُ عِمْرَانَ بَعِيرًا

[Machine] "None is comparable to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ except Maryam; she never rode a camel."  

أحمد:٧٦٥١حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مِثْلَهُ إِلَّا قَوْلَهُ وَلَمْ تَرْكَبْ مَرْيَمُ بَعِيرًا

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Pride and arrogance are found among blacksmiths from the righteous people, tranquility is found among shepherds, and faith is found among Yemenis, and wisdom is Yemeni."  

أحمد:٧٦٥٢حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ وَأَبِي سَلَمَةَ أَوْ أَحَدِهِمَا عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْفَخْرُ وَالْخُيَلَاءُ فِي الْفَدَّادِينَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْوَبَرِ وَالسَّكِينَةُ فِي أَهْلِ الْغَنَمِ وَالْإِيمَانُ يَمَانٍ وَالْحِكْمَةُ يَمَانِيَةٌ  

ahmad:7653ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Maʿmar > Ibn Abū Dhiʾb > Saʿīd al-Maqburī > Abū Hurayrah

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "I have rights over the Quraysh and the Quraysh have rights over you. Fulfill what they have judged, be just and trustworthy, and have mercy on them, so they may have mercy on you."  

أحمد:٧٦٥٣حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ لِي عَلَى قُرَيْشٍ حَقًّا وَإِنَّ لِقُرَيْشٍ عَلَيْكُمْ حَقًّا مَا حَكَمُوا فَعَدَلُوا وَاْئتُمِنُوا فَأَدَّوْا وَاسْتُرْحِمُوا فَرَحِمُوا

"Call yourselves by my name but do not call yourselves by my Kunyah." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3736)   

أحمد:٧٦٥٤حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ تَسَمَّوْا بِاسْمِي وَلَا تَكَنَّوْا بِكُنْيَتِي

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "What a blessing it is for a servant that Allah will take his soul while he is in a state of worshiping his Lord and obeying his master. What a blessing it is for him."  

أحمد:٧٦٥٥حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ هَمَّامٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ نِعِمَّا لِلْعَبْدِ أَنْ يَتَوَفَّاهُ اللهُ بِحُسْنِ عِبَادَةِ رَبِّهِ وَبِطَاعَةِ سَيِّدِهِ نِعِمَّا لَهُ وَنِعِمَّا لَهُ

Whoso obeys me obeys God; and whose disobeys me disobeys God. Whoso obeys my commander obeys me, and whoso disobeys my commander disobeys me. (Using translation from Muslim 1835c)  

أحمد:٧٦٥٦حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ أَخْبَرَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ أَطَاعَنِي فَقَدْ أَطَاعَ اللهَ وَمَنْ عَصَانِي فَقَدْ عَصَى اللهَ وَمَنْ أَطَاعَ أَمِيرِي فَقَدْ أَطَاعَنِي وَمَنْ عَصَى أَمِيرِي فَقَدْ عَصَانِي

[Machine] Abu Hurairah used to pray with us, and he would say the takbeer when he stood up and when he bowed. And when he wanted to prostrate after raising from the bow, and when he wanted to prostrate after raising from the prostration, and when he sat down, and when he wanted to raise in the next two Rak'ahs, he would say the takbeer. And he would say the same takbeer in the last two Rak'ahs. And when he finished prayer, he would say: "By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, I am the closest among you to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in his prayer. His prayer never changed until he left this world."  

أحمد:٧٦٥٧حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ

كَانَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ يُصَلِّي بِنَا فَيُكَبِّرُ حِينَ يَقُومُ وَحِينَ يَرْكَعُ وَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَسْجُدَ بَعْدَمَا يَرْفَعُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ وَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَسْجُدَ بَعْدَمَا يَرْفَعُ مِنَ السُّجُودِ وَإِذَا جَلَسَ وَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْفَعَ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ كَبَّرَ وَيُكَبِّرُ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ الْأُخْرَيَيْنِ فَإِذَا سَلَّمَ قَالَ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ إِنِّي لَأَقْرَبُكُمْ شَبَهًا بِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَعْنِي صَلَاتَهُ مَا زَالَتْ هَذِهِ صَلَاتُهُ حَتَّى فَارَقَ الدُّنْيَا

[Machine] Salama bin Abdul Rahman reported that they both prayed behind Abu Huraira and they mentioned something similar to the narration of Abdul Razzaq.

سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنَّهُمَا صَلَّيَا خَلْفَ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ فَذَكَرَا نَحْوَ حَدِيثِ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاق ِ

[Machine] He heard Abu Huraira saying that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say "Allahu Akbar" (Allah is the Greatest) when he stood up to pray, and he mentioned something similar to that.  

أحمد:٧٦٥٩حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ يُكَبِّرُ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When the Imam says: Not (the way) of those who earned Your anger, nor of those who went astray, say: 'Amin' for the angels say Amin and the Imam says Amin, and if a person's Amin coincides with the Amin of the angels, his previous sins will be forgiven.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 927)  

أحمد:٧٦٦٠حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا قَالَ الْإِمَامُ {غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ} [الفاتحة 7] فَقُولُوا آمِينَ فَإِنَّ الْمَلَائِكَةَ يَقُولُونَ آمِينَ وَإِنَّ الْإِمَامَ يَقُولُ آمِينَ فَمَنْ وَافَقَ تَأْمِينُهُ تَأْمِينَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ

"When the Prophet ﷺ raised his head from bowing, he said: 'Allahumma Rabbana wa lakal-hamd (O Allah, our Lord and to You be the praise).'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1060)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَمَّا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ قَالَ اللهُمَّ رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ

The Messenger of Allah said: "When the Iqamah is called for the prayer, do not come running. Come walking with tranquility. Whatever you catch up with, pray, and whatever you miss, complete it." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 775)  

أحمد:٧٦٦٢حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ وَقَدْ أَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيِّبِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَلَا تَأْتُوهَا تَسْعَوْنَ وَلَكِنِ ائْتُوهَا وَأَنْتُمْ تَمْشُونَ وَعَلَيْكُمُ السَّكِينَةُ فَمَا أَدْرَكْتُمْ فَصَلُّوا وَمَا فَاتَكُمْ فَأَتِمُّوا

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "When the prayer is established, so he mentioned it."  

أحمد:٧٦٦٣حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنْ يَزِيدَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْهَادِ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِذَا أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَذَكَرَهُ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whatever you have caught up with, offer the prayer, and whatever you have missed, make it up." Ma'mar said, "He did not mention the prostration (Sujood)."  

أحمد:٧٦٦٤حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَا أَدْرَكْتُمْ فَصَلُّوا وَمَا فَاتَكُمْ فَاقْضُوا قَالَ مَعْمَرٌ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ سُجُودًا

If anyone obtains a rak'ah in the prayer (along with the imam), he has obtained the whole prayer. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1121)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ أَدْرَكَ رَكْعَةً مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَ الصَّلَاةَ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed Zuhr or 'Asr and said the taslim following two rak'ahs and left. Dhul-Shimalain bin 'Amr said to him: 'Has the prayer been shortened or did you forget?" The Prophet ﷺ said: 'What is Dhul-Yadain saying?' They said: 'He is speaking the truth, O Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' So he led them in praying the two rak'ahs that he missed." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1230)   

أحمد:٧٦٦٦حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَبْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَأَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الظُّهْرَ أَوِ الْعَصْرَ فَسَلَّمَ فِي رَكْعَتَيْنِ فَقَالَ لَهُ ذُو الشِّمَالَيْنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ عَمْرٍو وَكَانَ حَلِيفًا لِبَنِي زُهْرَةَ أَخُفِّفَتِ الصَّلَاةُ أَمْ نَسِيتَ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مَا يَقُولُ ذُو الْيَدَيْنِ؟ قَالُوا صَدَقَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ فَأَتَمَّ بِهِمُ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ اللَّتَيْنِ نَقَصَ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When one of you prays with the people, let him shorten (the prayer), for among them there may be a weak person, an elderly person, and someone with a need."  

أحمد:٧٦٦٧حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ وَأَبِي سَلَمَةَ أَوْ أَحَدِهِمَا عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ بِالنَّاسِ فَلْيُخَفِّفْ فَإِنَّ فِيهِمُ الضَّعِيفَ وَالشَّيْخَ الْكَبِيرَ وَذَا الْحَاجَةِ

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "The one who raises his head before the imam finishes (the prayer) will have his head transformed into that of a donkey by Allah."  

أحمد:٧٦٦٨حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مَا يُؤْمِنُ الَّذِي يَرْفَعُ رَأْسَهُ قَبْلَ الْإِمَامِ أَنْ يَرُدَّ اللهُ رَأْسَهُ رَأْسَ حِمَارٍ؟
