ahmad:7569Abū Kāmil > Zuhayr > Suhayl from his father > Abū Hurayrah

The Prophet ﷺ said: If anyone spends the night with grease on his hand which he has not washed away, he can blame only himself if some trouble comes to him. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3852)  

أحمد:٧٥٦٩حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُهَيْلٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ نَامَ وَفِي يَدِهِ غَمَرٌ وَلَمْ يَغْسِلْهُ فَأَصَابَهُ شَيْءٌ فَلَا يَلُومَنَّ إِلَّا نَفْسَهُ

A son does not repay what he owes to his father unless he buys him and emancipates him if he finds him in slavery. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 5137)  

أحمد:٧٥٧٠حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يَجْزِي وَلَدٌ وَالِدَهُ إِلَّا أَنْ يَجِدَهُ مَمْلُوكًا فَيَشْتَرِيَهُ فَيُعْتِقَهُ  

ahmad:7571Abū Kāmil > Ḥammād > ʿAlī b. al-Ḥakam > ʿAṭāʾ b. Abū Rabāḥʿan Abū Hurayrah

The Prophet ﷺ said: He who is asked something he knows and conceals it will have a bridle of fire put on him on the Day of Resurrection. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3658)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ سُئِلَ عَنْ عِلْمٍ فَكَتَمَهُ أُلْجِمَ بِلِجَامٍ مِنْ نَارٍ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said: If a fly falls into one of your utensils, then dip it entirely, for one of its wings carries a disease and the other carries a cure.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا وَقَعَ الذُّبَابُ فِي إِنَاءِ أَحَدِكُمْ فَلْيَغْمِسْهُ فَإِنَّ فِي أَحَدِ جَنَاحَيْهِ دَاءً وَفِي الْآخَرِ دَوَاءً

[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ ordered Fatimah or Umm Salamah to drag the tail by a forearm."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَمَرَ فَاطِمَةَ أَوْ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ أَنْ تَجُرَّ الذَّيْلَ ذِرَاعًا

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "When a servant obeys his Lord and obeys his master, he will have two rewards."  

أحمد:٧٥٧٤حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ قَالَسَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِذَا أَطَاعَ الْعَبْدُ رَبَّهُ وَأَطَاعَ سَيِّدَهُ فَلَهُ أَجْرَانِ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Those who kill a disbeliever and then strive their best to be righteous will not be gathered together in the Fire."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يَجْتَمِعُ فِي النَّارِ مَنْ قَتَلَ كَافِرًا ثُمَّ سَدَّدَ بَعْدَهُ

[Machine] A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ complaining about the hardness of his heart. So he said to him, "If you want your heart to soften, feed the poor and wipe the head of the orphan."  

أحمد:٧٥٧٦حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيِّ عَنْ رَجُلٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا شَكَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَسْوَةَ قَلْبِهِفَقَالَ لَهُ إِنْ أَرَدْتَ أَنْ يَلِينَ قَلْبُكَ فَأَطْعِمِ الْمِسْكِينَ وَامْسَحْ رَأْسَ الْيَتِيمِ

" I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'The month of patience ( Ramadan) and three days of each month is fasting for a lifetime."' (Sahih). (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2408)  

أحمد:٧٥٧٧حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ صَوْمُ شَهْرِ الصَّبْرِ وَثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ صَوْمُ الدَّهْرِ

"None of you should wish for death. Either he is a doer of good, so perhaps he may do more good, or he is an evildoer but perhaps he will give up his evil ways." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1818)   

أحمد:٧٥٧٨حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ وَيَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يَتَمَنَّيَنَّ أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَوْتَ إِمَّا مُحْسِنٌ فَلَعَلَّهُ يَزْدَادُ خَيْرًا وَإِمَّا مُسِيءٌ لَعَلَّهُ يَسْتَعْتِبُ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A man used to give loans to the people and used to say to his servant, 'If the debtor is poor, forgive him, so that Allah may forgive us.' So when he met Allah (after his death), Allah forgave him." (Using translation from Bukhārī 3480)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ كَانَ رَجُلٌ يُدَايِنُ النَّاسَ فَكَانَ يَقُولُ لِفَتَاهُ إِذَا أَتَيْتَ مُعْسِرًا فَتَجَاوَزْ عَنْهُ لَعَلَّ اللهَ أَنْ يَتَجَاوَزَ عَنَّا قَالَ فَلَقِيَ اللهَ ﷻ فَتَجَاوَزَ عَنْهُ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Our destination tomorrow, if Allah wills, is the Battle of Khaybar, where they divided over disbelief."  

أحمد:٧٥٨٠حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْزِلُنَا غَدًا إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ بِخَيْفِ بَنِي كِنَانَةَ حَيْثُ تَقَاسَمُوا عَلَى الْكُفْرِ

“When you see the new crescent then fast, and when you see it then stop fasting. If it is cloudy then fast thirty days.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1655)  

أحمد:٧٥٨١حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا رَأَيْتُمُ الْهِلَالَ فَصُومُوا وَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُ فَأَفْطِرُوا فَإِنْ غُمَّ عَلَيْكُمْ فَصُومُوا ثَلَاثِينَ يَوْمًا

[Machine] On the authority of Abu Huraira, and Ya'qub did not mention Abu Salama, Abdullah ibn Ahmad reported that his father said: Yunus narrated to us from Al-Agharr, and Abu Salama narrated from Abu Huraira, from the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , that he said: "When it is Friday, there are angels at every door of the mosque writing down the names of those who come first, so the first is the first. When the Imam sits down (on the pulpit), they close their sheets and come to listen to the reminder."  

أحمد:٧٥٨٢حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ عَنِ الْأَغَرِّ وَأَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَيَعْقُوبُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ أَغَرَّ

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ يَعْقُوبُ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ [قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ] قَالَ أَبِي حَدَّثَنَاهُ يُونُسُ عَنِ الْأَغَرِّ وَأَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ كَانَ عَلَى كُلِّ بَابٍ مِنْ أَبْوَابِ الْمَسْجِدِ مَلَائِكَةٌ يَكْتُبُونَ الْأَوَّلَ فَالْأَوَّلَ فَإِذَا جَلَسَ الْإِمَامُ طَوَوُا الصُّحُفَ وَجَاءُوا فَاسْتَمَعُوا الذِّكْرَ

[Machine] He informed him that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever eats from this tree, let him not harm us with it in our mosque." Ya'qub (meaning garlic) said.  

أحمد:٧٥٨٣حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ وَيَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ أَكَلَ مِنْ هَذِهِ الشَّجَرَةِ فَلَا يُؤْذِينَا بِهَا فِي مَسْجِدِنَا هَذَا قَالَ يَعْقُوبُ يَعْنِي الثُّومَ

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ, Abdullah bin Ahmad said: My father did not doubt that Ya'qub said, "The virtue of congregational prayer over individual prayer is twenty-five parts."  

أحمد:٧٥٨٤حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ وَحَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ لَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ قَالَ أَبِي وَلَمْ يَشُكَّ يَعْقُوبُ قَالَ فَضْلُ صَلَاةِ الْجَمَاعَةِ عَلَى صَلَاةِ أَحَدِكُمْ وَحْدَهُ خَمْسَةً وَعِشْرِينَ جُزْءًا

I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "I have been sent with Jawami al-Kalim (i.e., the shortest expression carrying the widest meanings), and I was made victorious with awe (cast into the hearts of the enemy), and while I was sleeping, the keys of the treasures of the earth were brought to me and were put in my hand." Muhammad said, Jawami'-al-Kalim means that Allah expresses in one or two statements or thereabouts the numerous matters that used to be written in the books revealed before (the coming of) the Prophet. أحمد:٧٥٨٥حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ بُعِثْتُ بِجَوَامِعِ الْكَلِمِ وَنُصِرْتُ بِالرُّعْبِ وَبَيْنَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ أُتِيتُ بِمَفَاتِيحِ خَزَائِنِ الْأَرْضِ فَوُضِعَتْ فِي يَدِي  

ahmad:7586Abū Kāmil > Ibrāhīm > Ibn Shihāb > Abū Salamah b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman And ʿAbd al-Raḥman al-Aʿraj > Abū Hurayrah > Āstab two men a man from al-Muslimīn Warajul from al-Yahūd > al-Muslim Wa-al--Adhī Āṣṭafá Muḥammad > al-ʿĀlamīn

By Him Who chose Muhammad ﷺ in the worlds. And the Jew said: By Him Who chose Moses in the worlds. Thereupon the Muslim lifted his hand and slapped at the face of the Jew. The Jew went to Messenger of Allah ﷺ and told him about his affair and the affair of the Muslim. Thereupon Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Don't make me superior to Moses for mankind will swoon and I would be the first to recover from it and Moses would be at that time seizing the side of the Throne and I do not know (whether) he would swoon and would recover before me or Allah would make an exception for him. (Using translation from Muslim 2373c)   

أحمد:٧٥٨٦حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

اسْتَبَّ رَجُلَانِ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَرَجُلٌ مِنَ الْيَهُودِ فَقَالَ الْمُسْلِمُ وَالَّذِي اصْطَفَى مُحَمَّدًا عَلَى الْعَالَمِينَ وَقَالَ الْيَهُودِيُّ وَالَّذِي اصْطَفَى مُوسَى عَلَى الْعَالَمِينَ فَغَضِبَ الْمُسْلِمُ فَلَطَمَ عَيْنَ الْيَهُودِيِّ فَأَتَى الْيَهُودِيُّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرَهُ بِذَلِكَ فَدَعَاهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَسَأَلَهُ فَاعْتَرَفَ بِذَلِكَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا تُخَيِّرُونِي عَلَى مُوسَى فَإِنَّ النَّاسَ يَصْعَقُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَأَكُونُ أَوَّلَ مَنْ يُفِيقُ فَأَجِدُ مُوسَى مُمْسِكًا بِجَانِبِ الْعَرْشِ فَمَا أَدْرِي أَكَانَ فِيمَنْ صَعِقَ فَأَفَاقَ قَبْلِي؟ أَمْ كَانَ مِمَّنِ اسْتَثْنَاهُ اللهُ ﷻ؟  

ahmad:7587Abū Kāmil > Ibrāhīm b. Saʿd > Ibn Shihāb > Abū ʿUbayd a freed slave of ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. ʿAwf > Abū Hurayrah

None amongst you can get. into Paradise by virtue of his deeds alone. They said: Messenger of Allah, not even you? Thereupon he said: Not even I, but that Allah should wrap me in His Grace and Mercy. (Using translation from Muslim 2816f)  

أحمد:٧٥٨٧حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ مَوْلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَنْ يُدْخِلَ أَحَدًا مِنْكُمْ عَمَلُهُ الْجَنَّةَ قَالُوا وَلَا أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ وَلَا أَنَا إِلَّا أَنْ يَتَغَمَّدَنِي اللهُ مِنْهُ بِفَضْلٍ وَرَحْمَةٍ

There was an argument between Adam and Moses. Moses said: Are you that Adam whose lapse caused you to get out of Paradise? Adam said to him: Are you that Moses whom Allah selected for His Messengership, for His conversation and you blame me for an affair which had been ordained for me before I was created? This is how Adam came the better of Moses. (Using translation from Muslim 2652d)   

أحمد:٧٥٨٨حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ احْتَجَّ آدَمُ وَمُوسَى عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلَامُ فَقَالَ لَهُ مُوسَى أَنْتَ آدَمُ الَّذِي أَخْرَجَتْكَ خَطِيئَتُكَ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ؟ فَقَالَ لَهُ آدَمُ وَأَنْتَ مُوسَى الَّذِي اصْطَفَاكَ اللهُ بِكَلَامِهِوَبِرِسَالَتِهِ تَلُومُنِي عَلَى أَمْرٍ قُدِّرَ عَلَيَّ قَبْلَ أَنْ أُخْلَقَ؟ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَحَجَّ آدَمُ مُوسَى فَحَجَّ آدَمُ مُوسَى

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said and then he mentioned the Hadith.  

أحمد:٧٥٨٩حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ حَدَّثَنَا شُعَيْبٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ حَدَّثَنِي حُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ  

ahmad:7590Abū Kāmil > Ibrāhīm > Ibn Shihāb > Saʿīd b. al-Musayyib > Abū Hurayrah

The Prophet ﷺ was asked, "Which is the best deed?" He said, "To believe in Allah and His Apostle." He was then asked, "Which is the next (in goodness)?" He said, "To participate in Jihad in Allah's Cause." He was then asked, "Which is the next?" He said, "To perform Hajj-Mabrur. " (Using translation from Bukhārī 1519)

سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ فَقَالَ إِيمَانٌ بِاللهِ وَرَسُولِهِ قَالَ ثُمَّ مَاذَا؟ قَالَ ثُمَّ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ قِيلَ ثُمَّ مَاذَا؟ قَالَ ثُمَّ حَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ

The Prophet ﷺ said, "O Muslim women! None of you should look down upon the gift sent by her female neighbor even if it were the trotters of the sheep (fleshless part of legs). (Using translation from Bukhārī 2566)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَقُولُ يَا نِسَاءَ الْمُسْلِمَاتِ لَا تَحْقِرَنَّ جَارَةٌ لِجَارَتِهَا وَلَوْ فِرْسِنَ شَاةٍ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: Our Lord who is blessed and exalted descends every night to the lowest heaven when the last one-third of the night remains, and says: Who supplicated Me so that I may answer him ? Who asks of Me so that I may give to him ? Who asks My forgiveness so that I may forgive him ? (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1315)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَنْزِلُ رَبُّنَا تَبَارَكَ اسْمُهُ كُلَّ لَيْلَةٍ حِينَ يَبْقَى ثُلُثُ اللَّيْلِ الْآخِرُ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا فَيَقُولُ مَنْ يَدْعُونِي فَأَسْتَجِيبَ لَهُ؟ مَنْ يَسْأَلُنِي فَأُعْطِيَهُ؟ مَنْ يَسْتَغْفِرُنِي فَأَغْفِرَ لَهُ؟ حَتَّى يَطْلُعَ الْفَجْرُ فَلِذَلِكَ كَانُوا يُفَضِّلُونَ صَلَاةَ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ عَلَى صَلَاةِ أَوَّلِهِ

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever prays upon a deceased and does not walk with the funeral procession, let him stand until it departs from him. And whoever walks with it, let him not sit until it is laid down."  

أحمد:٧٥٩٣حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ سَعِيدَ ابْنَ مَرْجَانَةَ فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَلَمْ يَمْشِ مَعَهَا فَلْيَقُمْ حَتَّى تَغِيبَ عَنْهُ وَمَنْ مَشَى مَعَهَا فَلَا يَجْلِسْ حَتَّى تُوضَعَ

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Whoever catches one Rak’ah of prayer, he has caught it.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1122)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ أَدْرَكَ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ رَكْعَةً فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَهَا  

ahmad:7595Muḥammad b. Fuḍayl > Yazīd b. Abū Ziyād > Man > Abū Hurayrah > Awṣānī Khalīlī Bithalāth And Nahānī

[Machine] Abu Hurairah heard his beloved Prophet say, "My friend advised me with three things and forbade me from three things. He advised me to perform Witr prayer before sleeping, to fast three days every month, and to pray two Rak'ahs of Duha prayer. He forbade me from looking around during prayer, from clapping like a monkey, and from pecking like a rooster."  

أحمد:٧٥٩٥حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي زِيَادٍ حَدَّثَنِي مَنْ

سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ أَوْصَانِي خَلِيلِي بِثَلَاثٍ وَنَهَانِي عَنْ ثَلَاثٍ أَوْصَانِي بِالْوِتْرِ قَبْلَ النَّوْمِ وَصِيَامِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ وَرَكْعَتَيِ الضُّحَى قَالَ وَنَهَانِي عَنِ الِالْتِفَاتِ وَإِقْعَاءٍ كَإِقْعَاءِ الْقِرْدِ وَنَقْرٍ كَنَقْرِ الدِّيكِ  

ahmad:7596Abū al-ʿAbbās Muḥammad b. al-Sammāk > al-ʿAwwām b. Ḥawshab > Man > Abū Hurayrah

[Machine] Abu Hurairah said, "My beloved, ﷺ , advised me to fast three days every month and to perform Witr prayer before sleeping, and to pray Duha, for it is the prayer of the devout."

سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ أَوْصَانِي خَلِيلِي ﷺ بِصَوْمِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ وَبِالْوِتْرِ قَبْلَ النَّوْمِ وَبِصَلَاةِ الضُّحَىفَإِنَّهَا صَلَاةُ الْأَوَّابِينَ

"Allah, Mighty and Sublime is He, said: 'For whomever I take his sight, and he is patient and seeking a reward, I shall not be satisfied with any reward for him less than Paradise.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2401)   

أحمد:٧٥٩٧حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ ذَكْوَانَ

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ يَرْفَعُهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ يَقُولُ اللهُ مَنْ أَذْهَبْتُ حَبِيبَتَيْهِ فَصَبَرَ وَاحْتَسَبَ لَمْ أَرْضَ لَهُ بِثَوَابٍ دُونَ الْجَنَّةِ

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "When you send blessings upon me, ask Allah to grant me Al-Wasilah." It was said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is Al-Wasilah?" He replied, "It is the highest rank in Paradise, which only one man will attain, and I hope that I will be him."  

أحمد:٧٥٩٨حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ لَيْثٍ عَنْ كَعْبٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا صَلَّيْتُمْ عَلَيَّ فَاسْأَلُوا اللهَ لِي الْوَسِيلَةَ قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَمَا الْوَسِيلَةُ؟ قَالَ أَعْلَى دَرَجَةٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ لَا يَنَالُهَا إِلَّا رَجُلٌ وَاحِدٌ وَأَرْجُو أَنْ أَكُونَ أَنَا هُوَ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, Allah loves sneezing and dislikes or hates yawning. So when one of you says 'ha ha', that is only Shaytan laughing from within him."  

أحمد:٧٥٩٩حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ اللهَ يُحِبُّ الْعُطَاسَ وَيُبْغِضُ أَوْ يَكْرَهُ التَّثَاؤُبَ فَإِذَا قَالَ أَحَدُهُمْ هَا هَا فَإِنَّمَا ذَلِكَ الشَّيْطَانُ يَضْحَكُ مِنْ جَوْفِهِ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you wakes up, he should not put his hand in his vessel or in his ablution water until he washes it three times, for he does not know where his hand slept."  

أحمد:٧٦٠٠حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا اسْتَيْقَظَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلَا يُدْخِلْ يَدَهُ فِي إِنَائِهِ أَوْ قَالَ فِي وَضُوئِهِ حَتَّى يَغْسِلَهَا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَدْرِي أَيْنَ بَاتَتْ يَدُهُ

the Prophet was asked about a mouse that fell into the cooking fat. He said: "If it (the fat) is solid, then throw it away, and whatever is around it. If it is liquid then do not use it at all."(Daif) (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4260)  

أحمد:٧٦٠١حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَنِ الْفَأْرَةِ تَقَعُ فِي السَّمْنِ فَقَالَ إِنْ كَانَ جَامِدًا فَأَلْقُوهَا وَمَا حَوْلَهَا وَإِنْ كَانَ مَائِعًا فَلَا تَقْرَبُوهُ  

ahmad:7602ʿAbd al-Razzāq Wʾakhbaranī ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Būdhawayh

أحمد:٧٦٠٢قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ وأَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ بُوذَوَيْهِ أَنَّ مَعْمَرًاكَانَ يَذْكُرُهُ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ وَيَذْكُرُهُ

عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ

"None of you should urinate into still water and then perform Ghusl from it." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 221)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يَبُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي الْمَاءِ الدَّائِمِ ثُمَّ يَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْهُ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Narrated by Ma'mar from Ayyub from Ibn Sirin from Abu Hurairah from the Prophet ﷺ, he said, 'If a dog licks a container, wash it seven times.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وقَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا وَلَغَ الْكَلْبُ فِي الْإِنَاءِ فَاغْسِلْهُ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ

[Machine] "Do you know what I am performing ablution with? It is from the leaves of a plant called aqit, which I have consumed. Verily, I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Perform ablution with the water that has been touched by fire.'"  

أحمد:٧٦٠٥حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ قَارِظٍ قَالَ مَرَرْتُ بِأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَهُوَ يَتَوَضَّأُ فَقَالَ

أَتَدْرِي مِمَّا أَتَوَضَّأُ؟ مِنْ أَثْوَارِ أَقِطٍ أَكَلْتُهَا إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ تَوَضَّئُوا مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ  

ahmad:7606ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Maʿmar And Ibn Jurayj > al-Zuhrī > Abū Salamah b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman > Abū Hurayrah > a man

[Machine] O Messenger of Allah, can a man pray in a single garment? The Prophet ﷺ said, "Is there not enough clothing for each one of you?" In the narration of Ibn Jurayj, Ibn Shihab narrated from Abu Salamah that Abu Hurairah reported.  

أحمد:٧٦٠٦حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ وَابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ

يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ هَلْ يُصَلِّي الرَّجُلُ فِي الثَّوْبِ الْوَاحِدِ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَوَلِكُلِّكُمْ ثَوْبَانِ؟ قَالَ فِي حَدِيثِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ حَدَّثَ  

ahmad:7607ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Sufyān > al-Aʿmash > Dhakwān > Abū Hurayrah

“Every good deed of the son of Adam will be multiplied manifold. A good deed will be multiplied ten times up to as many as seven hundred times, or as much as Allah wills. Allah says: ‘Except for fasting, which is for Me and I shall reward for it. He gives up his desire and his food for My sake.’ The fasting person has two joys, one when he breaks his fast and another when he meets his Lord. The smell that comes from the mouth of a fasting person is better before Allah than the fragrance of musk.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1638)   

أحمد:٧٦٠٧حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ ذَكْوَانَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ كُلُّ حَسَنَةٍ يَعْمَلُهَا ابْنُ آدَمَ تُضَاعَفُ عَشْرًا إِلَى سَبْعِ مِائَةِ ضِعْفٍ إِلَّا الصِّيَامَ فَهُوَ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ يَدَعُ شَهْوَتَهُ مِنْ أَجْلِي وَيَدَعُ طَعَامَهُ مِنْ أَجْلِي فَرْحَتَانِ لِلصَّائِمِ فَرْحَةٌ عِنْدَ فِطْرِهِ وَفَرْحَةٌ عِنْدَ لِقَاءِ رَبِّهِ ﷻ وَلَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ  

ahmad:7608ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Maʿmar > Yaḥyá b. Abū Kathīr > ʿIkrimah > Abū Hurayrah

if anyone prays in a single piece of cloth, he should cross the two ends. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 627)  

أحمد:٧٦٠٨حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ فِي ثَوْبٍ فَلْيُخَالِفْ بَيْنَ طَرَفَيْهِ عَلَى عَاتِقِهِ  

ahmad:7609ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Maʿmar > al-Zuhrī > Ḥumayd b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman > Abū Hurayrah

[Machine] The Prophet saw impurity in the direction of the mosque, so he cleared it with a piece of wood or something similar. Then he said, "When one of you stands up for prayer, he should not spit in front of him or to his right, for his right is the angel's place of honor. Rather, he should spit to his left or under his left foot."  

أحمد:٧٦٠٩حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ رَأَى نُخَامَةً فِي قِبْلَةِ الْمَسْجِدِ فَحَتَّهَا بِمَرْوَةٍ أَوْ بِشَيْءٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِذَا قَامَ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَلَا يَتَنَخَّمَنَّ أَمَامَهُ وَلَا عَنْ يَمِينِهِ فَإِنَّ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ مَلَكًا وَلَكِنْلِيَتَنَخَّمْ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ أَوْ تَحْتَ قَدَمِهِ الْيُسْرَى

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever eats from this tree, meaning garlic, should not come near our mosque and should not harm us with the smell of garlic."  

أحمد:٧٦١٠حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ أَكَلَ مِنْ هَذِهِ الشَّجَرَةِ يَعْنِي الثُّومَ فَلَا يُؤْذِينَا فِي مَسْجِدِنَا وَقَالَ فِي مَوْضِعٍ آخَرَ فَلَا يَقْرَبَنَّ مَسْجِدَنَا وَلَا يُؤْذِينَا بِرِيحِ الثُّومِ  

ahmad:7611ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Maʿmar > Manṣūr > ʿAbbād b. Unaysʿan Abū Hurayrah

[Machine] "From the Prophet ﷺ, indeed the Mu'adhin (caller to prayer) is forgiven for as far as his voice reaches, and his testimony is believed by every moist and dry (creature) that hears it, and for the one who witnesses it, there are twenty-five degrees (of reward)."  

أحمد:٧٦١١حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ أُنَيْسٍعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِنَّ الْمُؤَذِّنَ يُغْفَرُ لَهُ مَدَى صَوْتِهِ وَيُصَدِّقُهُ كُلُّ رَطْبٍ وَيَابِسٍ سَمِعَهُ وَلِلشَّاهِدِ عَلَيْهِ خَمْسٌ وَعِشْرُونَ دَرَجَةً

Abu Huraira said, "The Prophet ﷺ said, 'A prayer performed in congregation is twenty-five times more superior in reward to a prayer performed by a single person. The angels of the night and the angels of the day are assembled at the time of the Fajr (Morning) prayer." Abu Huraira added, "If you wish, you can recite:-- 'Verily! The recitation of the Qur'an in the early dawn (Morning prayer) is ever witnessed (attended by the angels of the day and the night).' (17.78) (Using translation from Bukhārī 4717)  

أحمد:٧٦١٢حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَضْلُ صَلَاةِ الْجَمِيعِ عَلَى صَلَاةِ الْوَاحِدِ خَمْسٌ وَعِشْرُونَ وَتَجْتَمِعُ مَلَائِكَةُ اللَّيْلِ وَمَلَائِكَةُ النَّهَارِ فِي صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ قَالَ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ وَاقْرَءُوا إِنْ شِئْتُمْ {وَقُرْآنَ الْفَجْرِ إِنَّ قُرْآنَ الْفَجْرِ كَانَ مَشْهُودًا} [الإسراء 78]

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'When it is very hot, then wait for it to cool down before you pray, for intense heat is from the flaring up of the Hell-fire.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 677)  

أحمد:٧٦١٣حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ وَابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ وَأَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا اشْتَدَّ الْحَرُّ فَأَبْرِدُوا عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ فَإِنَّ شِدَّةَ الْحَرِّ مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "One of you will continue to be in prayer as long as he is waiting for the prayer, and the angels will continue to send blessings upon one of you as long as he is in his mosque, saying: 'O Allah, forgive him, O Allah, have mercy on him.'"  

أحمد:٧٦١٤حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يَزَالُ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي صَلَاةٍ مَا كَانَ يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلَاةَ وَلَا تَزَالُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ تُصَلِّي عَلَى أَحَدِكُمْ مَا كَانَ فِي مَسْجِدِهِ تَقُولُ اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ اللهُمَّ ارْحَمْهُ

[Machine] If one of you prays, let him pray towards something. If there is nothing, then a stick. And if there is no stick, then let him draw a line, and whatever passes in front of him will not harm him.  

أحمد:٧٦١٥حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ وَالثَّوْرِيُّ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَمْرِو بْنِ حُرَيْثٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَفَعَهُ قَالَ

إِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيُصَلِّ إِلَى شَيْءٍ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ شَيْءٌ فَعَصًا فَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ عَصًا فَلْيَخْطُطْخَطًّا ثُمَّ لَا يَضُرُّهُ مَا مَرَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever looks at a people inside their house without their permission, it is permissible for them to blind his eye."  

أحمد:٧٦١٦حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنِ اطَّلَعَ عَلَى قَوْمٍ فِي بَيْتِهِمْ بِغَيْرِ إِذْنِهِمْ فَقَدْ حَلَّ لَهُمْ أَنْ يَفْقَئُوا عَيْنَهُ

Do not greet the Jews and the Christians before they greet you and when you meet any one of them on the roads force him to go to the narrowest part of it. (Using translation from Muslim 2167a)   

أحمد:٧٦١٧حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا تَبْتَدِئُوا الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارَى بِالسَّلَامِ فَإِذَا لَقِيتُمُوهُمْ فِي طَرِيقٍ فَاضْطَرُّوهُمْ إِلَى أَضْيَقِهَا

I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: There is no divination but the best type is the good omen. It was said to Messenger of Allah ﷺ: What is good omen? Thereupon he said: A good word which one of you hears. (Using translation from Muslim 2223a)  

أحمد:٧٦١٨حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَا طِيَرَةَ وَخَيْرُهَا الْفَأْلُ قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَمَا الْفَأْلُ؟ قَالَ الْكَلِمَةُ الصَّالِحَةُ يَسْمَعُهَا أَحَدُكُمْ
