1.6. Rest of the Ten Promised Paradise (4/7)
The Prophet ﷺ said: It is not allowable for a Muslim to keep apart from his brother for more than three days, for one who does so and dies will enter Hell. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4914)
[Machine] My companions, you have already said "I leave" but I came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Indeed, the covenant was recent and I swore by al-Lat and al-Uzza." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Say, 'There is no deity except Allah alone,' three times, then blow to your left three times, seek refuge (with Allah), and do not count."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ was brought a plate of Tharid (a type of bread) and he ate from it. He had a leftover piece and he said, "A man from the people of Paradise will enter through this door and eat this piece." Saad said, "I left my brother Umair ibn Abi Waqqas preparing himself to meet the Prophet ﷺ , and I hoped it would be him." Then Abdullah ibn Salam came and ate it.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Allah, bless the people of Madinah in their city, bless their measure, and bless their buildings. O Allah, certainly Ibrahim is Your servant and Your Khalil (close friend), and I am Your servant and Your Messenger. Indeed, Ibrahim sought Your blessings for the people of Makkah, and I seek Your blessings for the people of Madinah in the same way that Ibrahim sought Your blessings for the people of Makkah and similar to it. Indeed, Madinah is intertwined with angels on every one of its mountain passes, two angels guarding it from any plague or the Dajjal (the false messiah). Whoever seeks to harm it, Allah will melt him away like salt dissolves in water."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us and he was striking one hand with the other, saying, "The month is like this and this." Then he decreased his finger on the third one.
Tho month is thus and thus, and thus, i. e. ten, ten and nine. (Using translation from Muslim 1086b)
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘The month is like that and like that and like that,’ and he showed nine fingers on the third time to indicate twenty-nine.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1657)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The Hour will not be established until a people emerge who eat with their tongues as cows eat with their tongues."
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "The best death is for a man to die without harming others."
[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, should I donate all of my wealth?" He said, "No." I said, "Should I donate two-thirds of it?" He said, "No." I said, "Should I donate half of it?" He said, "No." I said, "Should I donate one-third of it?" He said, "One-third is good. But leaving your family with something (after your death) is better than leaving them dependent on others."
[Machine] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out on the expedition of Tabuk, he left Ali behind and asked him, "Are you not okay with being to me what Haroon was to Musa, except that there is no prophet after me?"
[Machine] During his illness, if I die, shroud me and bury me in a similar manner to how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was shrouded and buried.
"Make a niche for me in the side of the grave and set up (bricks) over me as was done for the Messenger of Allah." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2007)
[Machine] We accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and among us were those who performed seven circumambulations (around the Kaaba) and among us were those who performed eight, and among us were those who performed more than that. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no harm (in performing more)."
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "Verily, faith started as something strange and it will revert to being strange as it began, so glad tidings to the strangers. When corrupt people appear, those who hold firmly to their faith will be like the snake that hides in its hole between these two mosques."
Messenger of Allah said: "Salat is this Masjid of mine is better than a thousand Salat in another, except for Masjid Al-Haram." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 325)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Verily, I sanctify what is between the two lava fields of Al-Madinah just as Ibrahim sanctified it. Its game is not hunted, its trees are not cut, and no one leaves it out of desire for it except that Allah substitutes something better for him. Al-Madinah is better for them if they only knew. And no one wishes harm upon them except that Allah melts him like lead in the Fire or like salt in water."
“I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, which people are most severely tested?’ He said: ‘The Prophets, then the next best and the next best. A person is tested according to his religious commitment. If he is steadfast in his religious commitment, he will be tested more severely, and if he is frail in his religious commitment, his test will be according to his commitment. Trials will continue to afflict a person until they leave him walking on the earth with no sin on him.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4023)
What prevents you from abusing Abu Turab (Hadrat 'Ali), whereupon be said: It is because of three things which I remember Messenger of Allah ﷺ having said about him that I would not abuse him and even if I find one of those three things for me, it would be more dear to me than the red camels. I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ say about 'Ali as he left him behind in one of his campaigns (that was Tabuk). 'Ali said to him: Messenger of Allah, you leave me behind along with women and children. Thereupon Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: Aren't you satisfied with being unto me what Aaron was unto Moses but with this exception that there is no prophethood after me. And I (also) heard him say on the Day of Khaibar: I would certainly give this standard to a person who loves Allah and his Messenger, and Allah and his Messenger love him too. He (the narrator) said: We had been anxiously waiting for it, when he (the Holy Prophet) said: Call 'Ali. He was called and his eyes were inflamed. He applied saliva to his eyes and handed over the standard to him, and Allah gave him victory. (The third occasion is this) when the (following) verse was revealed: "Let us summon our children and your children." Messenger of Allah ﷺ called 'Ali, Fatima, Hasan and Husain and said: O Allah, they are my family. (Using translation from Muslim 2404d)
During the Fitnah(in the time) of 'Uthman bin 'Affan, Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas said: "I testify that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'There will be a Fitnah during which the sitting person is better than the standing(person) is better than the walking, and the walking(person) is better than the running."' He said: "What do you see(I should do) if he entered upon me in my homeand extended hos hand to kill me? He said: 'Be as Adam's son."' (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2194)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Abbas, "This is Abbas ibn Abdul-Muttalib, the most generous and noblest amongst the Quraysh in terms of lineage."
Teach me the words which I should (often) utter. He said: Utter," There is no god but Allah, the One, having no partner with Him. Allah is the Greatest of the great and all praise is due to Him. Hallowed be Allah, the Lord of the worlds, there is no Might and Power but that of Allah, the All-Powerful and the Wise." He (that desert Arab) said: These all (glorify) my Lord. But what about me? Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: You should say:" O Allah, grant me pardon, have mercy upon me, direct me to righteousness and provide me sustenance." Musa (one of the narrators) said: I think he also said:" Grant me safety." But I cannot say for certain whether he said this or not. Ibn Abi Shaiba has not made a mention of the words of Musa in his narration. (Using translation from Muslim 2696)
Is one amongst you powerless to get one thousand virtues every day. Amongst those who had been sitting there, one asked: How one amongst us can get one thousand virtues every day? He said: Recite:" Hallowed be Allah" one hundred times for (by reciting them) one thousand virtues are recorded (to your credit) and one tbousand vices are blotted out. (Using translation from Muslim 2698)

[Machine] Four verses were revealed to me on the day of Badr, when I struck with a sword. Then the Prophet ﷺ came to me and I said: "O Messenger of Allah, allow me to keep it as a gift." He said: "Put it down." Then he stood up and I said: "O Messenger of Allah, allow me to keep it as a gift." He said: "Put it down." Then he stood up again and I said: "O Messenger of Allah, allow me to keep it as a gift." He said: "Put it down wherever you took it from." Then the following verse was revealed: "They ask you concerning the spoils of war. Say: 'The spoils of war are for Allah and the Messenger'" (Quran 8:1). A man from the Ansar served us food and we drank wine until we became intoxicated. The Ansar and the Quraysh then boasted and each claimed superiority over the other. A man from the Ansar took a jawbone and struck Sa'd on the nose, causing it to be disfigured. Then the following verse was revealed: "O you who believe! Intoxicants, gambling, idolatrous sacrifices, and divining arrows are an abomination of Satan's handiwork. So avoid them in order that you may be successful" (Quran 5:90). Sa'd's mother, Umm Sa'd, said: "Hasn't Allah commanded them to do good? By Allah, I will neither feed anyone nor drink anything until I die or disbelieve in Muhammad." They would tie her up with ropes when they wanted to feed her, and when they untied her, she would strike the food away with a stick. Then the following verse was revealed: "And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents" (Quran 29:8). The Prophet ﷺ visited Sa'd while he was ill, and Sa'd said: "O Messenger of Allah, shall I bequeath all my wealth?" He replied: "No." Sa'd asked: "Shall I bequeath two-thirds of it?" He replied: "No." Sa'd asked: "Shall I bequeath one-third of it?" The Prophet ﷺ remained silent.

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day of Uhud, "Throw me as a shield, for the sake of my parents."
[Machine] "He used to perform ablution in the corner, and one day he came out to us from the bathroom, performed ablution and wiped over his socks. We were amazed and asked, 'What is this?' He said, 'My father told me that he saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do the same.'
By Allah, I am the first person amongst the Arabs to throw an arrow in the cause of Allah and we used to go with Messenger of Allah ﷺ and there was no food for us to eat but only the leaves of hubla and samur trees (they are wild trees) and as a result thereof one amongst us would relieve himself as does the goat. (How strange it is) that now the people of Banu Asad (the progeny of Zubair) instruct me in religion and try to impose punishment upon me (in regard to it). If it is so (that I am so ignorant of religion), then indeed, I am undone and my deeds have been lost. Ibn Numair, however, did not make a mention of the word (idhan) thus? (in his narration). (Using translation from Muslim 2966a)
[Machine] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ greeting (people) with his right hand and his left hand.
[Machine] When it was the day of the Khandaq (the Battle of the Trench), there was a man who was taking cover and he spoke while holding a shield saying, "This is how it will protect me," and he placed it over his nose. Then he said, "This is how it will be lowered." Afterward, I leaned towards my quiver and took out a sharp arrow and placed it in the liver of the bow. When he said, "This is how it will be lowered," I shot and did not miss the target. The arrow hit the shield and he said in surprise, "I did not forget the sound of the arrow hitting the shield." He fell down and said with his leg, and the Prophet ﷺ laughed. I thought he said this until his fangs appeared, so I asked, "Why?" He said, "Because of the man's actions."
"I heard Mus'ab bin Sa'd (narrate) about his father: 'He used to tech us five things, which he said that the Messenger of Allah [SAW] used to recite in his supplication: 'Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-bukhli, wa a'udhu bika minal-jubni, wa a'udhu bika an uradda ila ardhalil-'umuri, wa a'udhu bika min fitnatid-dunya, wa a'udhu bika min 'adhabil-qabr (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from miserliness, and I seek refuge in You from cowardice, and I seek refuge in You from reaching the age of senility, and I seek refuge in You from the trials of this world, and I seek refuge in You from the torment of the grave).'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5445)
[Machine] His companions heard that he had migrated, so they came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Indeed, the oath was a recent matter, and I swore by Al-Lat and Al-'Uzza." The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Say, 'There is no deity except Allah, alone, three times and give up swearing by Al-Lat and Al-'Uzza. Seek refuge in Allah from Satan and do not count them."
[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "The best remembrance is the hidden one, and the best sustenance is what is sufficient."
[Machine] Umar sought permission from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , who had his wives with him, and their voices were louder than his. So he granted him permission, and they went away. Umar entered, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was laughing. Umar said, "May Allah make you laugh, O Messenger of Allah, my father and mother be sacrificed for you." He said, "I marveled at the wives' competition to be with me. So when they heard your voice, they hastened and went away." He turned towards them and said, "What audacious souls they have! By Allah, O Messenger of Allah, they were more entitled to outdo me." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Leave them, O Umar, for by Allah, if Satan meets you in a path, he would take a different path other than yours." This is the last part of the hadith of Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas, as narrated by Sa'id bin Zaid bin Amr bin Nufayl.
