[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ entered upon Bilal, may Allah have mercy on him, and saw a bag of dates with him. He said to him, "What is this?" Bilal replied, "This is some dates that I have saved." The Prophet said, "Do you not fear that it may have steam in the fire of Hell? Spend, O Bilal, and do not fear poverty from the Owner of the Throne."  

الزهد لأحمد:٤٠٣ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أبِي حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ دَخَلَ عَلَى بِلَالٍ رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ فَرَأَى عِنْدَهُ صُبَرًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ «مَا هَذَا؟» قَالَ «هَذَا تَمْرٌ ادَّخَرْتُهُ» قَالَ «أَفَمَا تَخَافُ أَنْ يَكُونَ لَهُ بُخَارٌ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ؟ أَنْفِقْ بِلَالُ وَلَا تَخْشَ مِنْ ذِي الْعَرْشِ إِقْلَالًا»

The Prophet ﷺ said: "Are you afraid that it might have any steam from the fire? Spend it, O Bilal, and do not fear that the Owner of the Throne will decrease anything for you."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon Bilal and found with him a handful of dates. He said, "What is this, O Bilal?" Bilal replied, "It is dates that I have saved." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Woe to you, O Bilal! Are you not afraid that this may have some vapor from the Hellfire? Spend, O Bilal, and do not fear the One who owns the Throne of God, for He is All-Providing."  

الطبراني:١٠٢٤ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ ثنا بَكَّارُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ السِّرِينِيُّ ثنا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ؓ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ دَخَلَ عَلَى بِلَالٍ فَوَجَدَ عِنْدَهُ صُبْرًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ فَقَالَ «مَا هَذَا يَا بِلَالُ؟» فَقَالَ تَمْرٌ أَدَّخِرُهُ قَالَ «وَيْحَكَ يَا بِلَالُ أَوَمَا تَخَافُ أَنْ يَكُونَ لَهُ بُخَارٌ فِي النَّارِ؟ أَنْفِقْ يَا بِلَالُ وَلَا تَخْشَ مِنْ ذِي الْعَرْشِ إِقْلَالًا»

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ returned with Bilal and offered him some dates. He asked, "What is this, O Bilal?" Bilal replied, "I saved it for you, O Messenger of Allah." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do you not fear that a smoke will be created for you in the Fire of Hell? Spend, O Bilal, and do not fear the One on the Throne reducing it."  

الطبراني:١٠٢٥ – حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ ثنا بِشْرُ بْنُ سَيْحَانَ حَدَّثَنَا حَرْبُ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَادَ بِلَالًا فَأَخْرَجَ لَهُ صُبْرًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ فَقَالَ «مَا هَذَا يَا بِلَالُ؟» قَالَ ادَّخَرْتُهُ لَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ «أَمَا تَخْشَى أَنْ يُجْعَلَ لَكَ بُخَارٌ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ أَنْفِقْ بِلَالُ وَلَا تَخْشَ مِنْ ذِي الْعَرْشِ إِقْلَالًا»
