"Ibn 'Umar said: The Prophet ﷺ entered the Masjid of Quba' to pray there, then some men came in and greeted him with Salam. I asked Suhaib, who was with him: 'What did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do when he was greeted?' He said: 'He used to gesture with his hand.'"  

ابْنُ عُمَرَ دَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مَسْجِدَ قُبَاءَ لِيُصَلِّيَ فِيهِ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ رِجَالٌ يُسَلِّمُونَ عَلَيْهِ فَسَأَلْتُ صُهَيْبًا وَكَانَ مَعَهُ كَيْفَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَصْنَعُ إِذَا سُلِّمَ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ كَانَ يُشِيرُ بِيَدِهِ  

[Machine] Narrated by Abdullah bin Umar: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the mosque of Bani Amr ibn Auf, a mosque in Quba, and he prayed in it. The Ansar (Medinan supporters of the Prophet) entered and greeted him, and Suhaib also entered with him. So, I asked Suhaib, "What would the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do when someone greets him?" He said, "He would gesture with his hand." Sufyan (who narrates the hadith) said, "I said to a man, 'Ask Zaid, did you hear it from Abdullah?' I volunteered to ask him and he said, 'O Abu Usamah, I heard it from Abdullah bin Umar.' As for me, I have seen him and spoken to him."  

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَسْجِدَ بَنِي عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْفٍ مَسْجِدَ قُبَاءَ يُصَلِّي فِيهِ فَدَخَلَتْ عَلَيْهِ رِجَالُ الْأَنْصَارِ يُسَلِّمُونَ عَلَيْهِ وَدَخَلَ مَعَهُ صُهَيْبٌ فَسَأَلْتُ صُهَيْبًا كَيْفَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَصْنَعُ إِذَا سُلِّمَ عَلَيْهِ؟ قَالَ يُشِيرُ بِيَدِهِ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ قُلْتُ لِرَجُلٍ سَلْ زَيْدًا أَسَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ وَهِبْتُ أَنَا أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا أُسَامَةَ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ أَمَّا أَنَا فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ فَكَلَّمْتُهُ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the Masjid of Bani Amr ibn Auf while it was the Quba Mosque where he used to pray. Then some men from the Ansar entered and greeted him. Ibn Umar said, "Suhaib also entered with them, so I asked him, 'How did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ respond when greeted while he was in prayer?' He said, 'He used to gesture with his hand.'"  

دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَسْجِدَ بَنِي عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْفٍ وَهُوَ مَسْجِدُ قُبَاءَ يُصَلِّي فِيهِ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ رِجَالٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ يُسَلِّمُونَ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ وَدَخَلَ مَعَهُمْ صُهَيْبٌ فَسَأَلْتُهُ كَيْفَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَصْنَعُ إِذَا سُلِّمَ عَلَيْهِ وَهُوَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ؟ قَالَ «كَانَ يُشِيرُ بِيَدِهِ»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ entered the mosque of Bani Amr ibn Auf, which is known as the Quba Mosque. Some men from the Ansar (helpers) greeted him. Ibn Umar said, "So I asked Suhaib, who was with him, how the Prophet ﷺ used to respond when someone greeted him while he was praying?" He said, "He used to gesture with his hand."  

دَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مَسْجِدَ بَنِي عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْفٍ يَعْنِي مَسْجِدَ قُبَاءٍ فَدَخَلَ رِجَالٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ يُسَلِّمُونَ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ فَسَأَلْتُ صُهَيْبًا وَكَانَ مَعَهُ كَيْفَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَفْعَلُ إِذَا كَانَ يُسَلَّمُ عَلَيْهِ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي؟ فَقَالَ «كَانَ يُشِيرُ بِيَدِهِ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to the mosque of Quba and he was praying, and he made the people enter and greet him. When Suhaib came out, I asked him, "How did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ respond to them?" He said, "With his hand like this," and he gestured with it.  

أَتَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَسْجِدَ قُبَاءٍ فَكَانَ يُصَلِّي وَجَعَلَ النَّاسُ يَدْخُلُونَ فَيُسَلِّمُونَ عَلَيْهِ فَلَمَّا خَرَجَ صُهَيْبٌ سَأَلْتُهُ كَيْفَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَرُدُّ عَلَيْهِمْ؟ فَقَالَ «بِيَدِهِ هَكَذَا» وَأَشَارَ بِهَا  

"عن ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَسْجِدَ بَنِى عَمْروِ بْنِ عوف يُصَلِّى فِيه وَدَخَلَ مَعَهُ صُهَيْبٌ، فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْه رِجَالٌ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ يُسَلِّمُونَ عَلَيْهِ، فَسَأَلْتُ صُهَيبًا كَيْفَ كَانَ النَّبِىُّ ﷺ يَصْنَعُ إِذا سَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِ فِى الصَّلاَةِ؟ قَالَ: كَانَ يُشِيرُ بِيَدِهِ".
