سُلَيْكُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو وَيُقَالُ ابْنُ هُدْبَةَ الْغَطَفَانِيُّ

[Machine] He came and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering a sermon from the pulpit, so he asked him, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), "Did you pray (the obligatory prayer)?" He said, "No." He (the Messenger of Allah) said, "Then pray two units (of voluntary prayer) in which you seek exoneration in them."  

الطبراني:٦٧١٢ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ النَّرْسِيُّ ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ أَبِي كَبْشَةَ ثنا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ عِيسَى عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ سُلَيْكٍ الْغَطَفَانِيِّ

أَنَّهُ جَاءَ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَرَكَعْتَ؟» قَالَ لَا قَالَ «فَصَلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ تَجَوَّزْ فِيهِمَا»

“Sulaik Al-Ghatafani came while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was delivering the sermon. The Prophet ﷺ said to him: ‘Did you perform two Rak’ah before you came?’ He said: ‘No.’ He said: ‘Then perform two Rak’ah, but make them brief.’”  

ابن ماجة:١١١٤ – حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ رُشَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَعَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ

عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالاَ جَاءَ سُلَيْكٌ الْغَطَفَانِيُّ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَصَلَّيْتَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَجِيءَ؟ قَالَ لاَ قَالَ فَصَلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَتَجَوَّزْ فِيهِمَا

[Machine] Sulayk once came while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was giving a sermon, so he sat down. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered him to perform two units of prayer and to make them brief.  

الطبراني:٦٦٩٩ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ غُنْدَرٌ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ أَبِي بِشْرٍ عَنْ طَلْحَةَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ نَافِعٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يُحَدِّثُ

أَنَّ سُلَيْكًا جَاءَ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ فَجَلَسَ «فَأَمَرَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ يَتَجَوَّزُ فِيهِمَا»

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to give sermons on Fridays. One day, a man entered and the Prophet ﷺ asked him, "Did you pray?" The man replied, "No." So the Prophet ﷺ said, "Then pray." And the man performed two units of prayer.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ فَدَخَلَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَصَلَّيْتَ؟» قَالَ لَا قَالَ «فَصَلِّ» قَالَ فَرَكَعَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ
