[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day of Khaybar, "I will give the flag today to a man who loves Allah and His Messenger and whom Allah and His Messenger love." He then sent me to Ali, and he was suffering from an eye ailment. So I took hold of him and applied saliva to his eye, and he was healed. He then gave him the flag.  

الطبراني:٦٢٣٣ – حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو حُذَيْفَةَ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ثنا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ قَالَا ثنا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ثنا إِيَاسُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ «لَأُعْطِيَنَّ الرَّايَةَ الْيَوْمَ رَجُلًا يُحِبُّ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَيُحِبُّهُ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ» قَالَ فَبَعَثَنِي إِلَى عَلِيٍّ وَهُوَ أَرْمَدُ فَجِئْتُ بِهِ أَقُودُهُ فَتَفَلَ فِي عَيْنَهِ فَبَرَأَ وَأَعْطَاهُ الرَّايَةَ
