[Machine] She used to perform ruqyah in the pre-Islamic era, but when Islam came, she said, "I will not perform ruqyah until I seek permission from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." So, I went to him and asked for his permission, and he instructed me saying, "Perform ruqyah as long as it does not involve shirk (associating partners with Allah)."  

الطبراني:٢١٢٦٢ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنِ الْجَرَّاحِ بْنِ الضَّحَّاكِ عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ الْكِنْدِيِّ قَالَ أَخَذَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بِيَدِي فَانْطَلَقْنَا إِلَى شَيْخٍ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ ابْنُ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ يُصَلِّي إِلَى أُسْطُوَانَةٍ فَجَلَسْنَا إِلَيْهِ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قَالَ لَهُ عَلِيٌّ حَدِّثْنَا بِحَدِيثِ أُمِّكَ فِي الرُّقْيَةِ فَقَالَ حَدَّثَتْنِي أُمِّي

أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ تَرْقِي بِرُقْيَةٍ لَهَا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَلَمَّا جَاءَ الْإِسْلَامُ قَالَتْ لَا أَرْقِي بِهَا حَتَّى أسْتَأْذِنَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَاسْتَأْمَرْتُهُ فَقَالَ «ارْقِ مَا لَمْ يَكُنْ فِيهَا شِرْكٌ»

[Machine] She used to seek protection through charms in the pre-Islamic era. But when Islam came, she said, "I will not seek protection until I seek the permission of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ." The Prophet ﷺ then told her, "Seek protection with what does not involve associating partners with Allah, the Almighty."  

الحاكم:٦٨٨٩ – كَمَا حَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ ثَنَا حَامِدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَامِدٍ الْمُقْرِئُ ثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الرَّازِيُّ ثَنَا الْجَرَّاحُ بْنُ الضَّحَّاكِ الْكِنْدِيُّ عَنْ كُرَيْبِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ الْكِنْدِيِّ قَالَ أَخَذَ بِيَدِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ حَتَّى انْطَلَقَ بِي إِلَى رَجُلٍ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ أَحَدِ بَنِي زُهْرَةَ يُقَالُ لَهُ ابْنُ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي قَرِيبًا مِنْهُ حَتَّى فَرَغَ ابْنُ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَيْنَا بِوَجْهِهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْحَدِيثَ الَّذِي ذَكَرْتَ عَنْ أُمِّكَ فِي شَأْنِ الرُقَيَّةِ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ حَدَّثَتْنِي أُمِّي

أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ تَرْقِي بِرُقَيَةٍ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَلَمَّا أَنْ جَاءَ الْإِسْلَامُ قَالَتْ لَا أَرْقِي حَتَّى أَسْتَأْمِرَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ لَهَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «ارْقِي مَا لَمْ يَكُنْ شِرْكٌ بِاللَّهِ ﷻ»

[Machine] "It used to practice magic during the pre-Islamic era, but when Islam came, it said, 'I will not practice magic until I seek permission from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' So, she went to him and sought his permission, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to her, 'Continue practicing magic as long as there is no association of partners with Allah in it.'"
