I used to pray with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and both his prayer and sermon were of moderate length.

كُنْتُ أُصَلِّي مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَكَانَتْ صَلاَتُهُ قَصْدًا وَخُطْبَتُهُ قَصْدًا
