مَنْ يُكَنَّى أَبَا عَسِيبٍ أَبُو عَسِيبٍ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ

tabarani:19268 – Idrīs b. Jaʿfar al-ʿAṭṭār > Yazīd b. Hārūn > Muslim b. ʿUbayd Abū Baṣīrah

[Machine] I heard Abu Asib, the servant of the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , say that the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "Jibril came to me with fever and plague, so I held the fever in Medina and sent the plague to the Sham as a testimony for my Ummah and a punishment for the disbelievers."  

الطبراني:١٩٢٦٨ – حَدَّثَنَا إِدْرِيسُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْعَطَّارُ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ثنا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ أَبُو بَصِيرَةَ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَسِيبٍ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَتَانِي جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ بِالْحُمَّى وَالطَّاعُونِ فَأَمْسَكْتُ الْحُمَّى بِالْمَدِينَةِ وَأَرْسَلْتُ الطَّاعُونَ إِلَى الشَّامِ شَهَادَةً لِأُمَّتِي وَرِجْزًا عَلَى الْكُفَّارِ»

"أتانى جبريل بالحمى والطاعون، فأمسكتُ الحمى بالمدينة، وأرسلت الطاعون إلى الشّام، فالطاعون شهادةٌ لأمَّتى ورحمة لهم ورجس على الكافرين".
