[Machine] I heard Abu Asib, a servant of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , saying: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Gabriel came to me with fever and plague. So, I kept the fever in Medina and sent the plague to Syria. Verily, the plague is a witness for my Ummah, a mercy and a punishment upon the disbelievers."  

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَسِيبٍ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَتَانِي جِبْرِيلُ بِالْحُمَّى وَالطَّاعُونِ فَأَمْسَكْتُ الْحُمَّى بِالْمَدِينَةِ وَأَرْسَلْتُ الطَّاعُونَ إِلَى الشَّامِ فَالطَّاعُونُ شَهَادَةٌ لِأُمَّتِي وَرَحْمَةٌ وَرِجْسٌ عَلَى الْكَافِرِ  

[Machine] I heard Abu Asib, the servant of the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , say that the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "Jibril came to me with fever and plague, so I held the fever in Medina and sent the plague to the Sham as a testimony for my Ummah and a punishment for the disbelievers."  

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَسِيبٍ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَتَانِي جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ بِالْحُمَّى وَالطَّاعُونِ فَأَمْسَكْتُ الْحُمَّى بِالْمَدِينَةِ وَأَرْسَلْتُ الطَّاعُونَ إِلَى الشَّامِ شَهَادَةً لِأُمَّتِي وَرِجْزًا عَلَى الْكُفَّارِ»
