[Machine] Narrated by Abu Muwayhibah, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ : The Prophet ﷺ passed by me one night and said, "O Abu Muwayhibah, go forth, for I have been commanded to seek forgiveness for the people of this Baqi [graveyard]." So I went forth, or he said: "So we went forth," and when we reached Al-Baqi, he sought forgiveness for the people of the graves. Then he said, "May you be blessed with what you have experienced until now. If you only knew what has been saved for you by Allah, you would have seen that trials would descend upon you like the darkest part of the night. The last of them would go on while the first of them is even worse than the last." Then he said, "O Abu Muwayhibah, did you know that Allah has bestowed upon me the treasures of the earth and eternal life in it, followed by Paradise and the meeting with my Lord?" I said, "May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, so take the keys to the treasures of the earth and eternal life in it." He said, "No, O Abu Muwayhibah, I have chosen the meeting with my Lord." Then he sought forgiveness for the people of the graves and then left. When morning came, he began to complain of the ailment that he passed away from. (Sahih Muslim)

[Machine] Narrated Abu Muwayhibah, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ : The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me in the middle of the night and said, "O Abu Muwayhibah, indeed I have been commanded to seek forgiveness for the people of al-Baqi'ah. May what you have been blessed with in the morning be better than what the people have been blessed with in the morning. If only you knew what Allah has saved you from, then trials and tribulations would have started appearing to you like a piece of the darkest night, one following another. The last (of these trials and tribulations) is worse than the first." Then he (the Prophet) turned to me and said, "O Abu Muwayhibah, indeed I have been given the keys to the treasures of this world and the Hereafter, and I have been given the choice between them and meeting my Lord. So I said, 'By my father and mother, take the keys to the treasures of this world and the Hereafter, then Paradise.' He said, 'No, by Allah, O Abu Muwayhibah, I have chosen to meet my Lord and Paradise.' Then he sought forgiveness for the people of al-Baqi'ah, and then he left. The pain in which Allah caused him to pass away in when morning came was excruciating for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ."

[Machine] On the authority of Abu Muwayhibah, the servant of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, "I have been commanded to seek forgiveness for the people of Al-Baqi', so come with me." So I went with him in the middle of the night. When he stood near them, he said, "Peace be upon you, O people of the graves! May Allah honor you with what He honors those who have passed before you. If you knew what Allah has saved you from, the trials (and tribulations) to come would appear to you like the darkest part of the night. It (the trials) will follow one after another, each worse than the previous one. Then he turned towards me and said, 'O Abu Muwayhibah, I have been given the keys to the treasures of the world, and the keys to eternal life in it, then Paradise. I was given the choice between that and meeting my Lord.' I said, 'May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, take the keys to the treasures of the world, and the keys to eternal life in it, then Paradise.' He said, 'No, by Allah, O Abu Muwayhibah, I have chosen to meet my Lord.' Then he sought forgiveness for the people of Al-Baqi' and left. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ began to feel the pain in which he died.

[Machine] Narrated Abu Muayhibah, who was a guardian of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ woke me up one night and said, 'O Abu Muayhibah, go and seek forgiveness, for I have been commanded to seek forgiveness for the people of Baqi' (the graveyard in Medina).' So I went with him. When we reached Baqi', he said, 'Peace be upon you, O people of Baqi', may what you are in this morning be good for you. If you knew what Allah has saved you from, the trials would have approached you like thick darkness following after darkness. Then he said, 'O Abu Muayhibah, Allah has chosen for me to be given the treasures of the earth, eternal life in it, and then Paradise, and the meeting with my Lord Almighty.' I said, 'May I be your sacrifice, both my parents are offered to you. Take the keys of the treasures of this earth, and eternal life in it, then Paradise.' He said, 'No, O Abu Muayhibah, I have chosen to meet my Lord Almighty.' Then he sought forgiveness for the people of Baqi' and left. When he began the prayer in the morning, he would begin his prayer by complaining about that day when he was taken (from this world)." (Source: Al-Bukhari)
