[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I passed by a man who did not invite me or greet me, so should I greet him?" He ﷺ said, "Rather, you should greet him."

الطبراني:١٦٧١٧ – حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ قَالَا ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ثنا سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَرَرْتُ بِرَجُلٍ فَلَمْ يَضِفْنِي وَلَمْ يُقْرِنِي فَمَرَّ بِي فَأُقْرِيهِ؟ قَالَ «بَلْ أَقْرِهِ»

ذِكْرُ مَا يَجِبُ عَلَى الْمَرْءِ مِنْ مُجَازَاةِ الْخَيْرِ لِأَخِيهِ الْمُسْلِمِ عَلَى أَعْمَالِهِ الصَّالِحَةِ وَالسَّيِّئَةِ

ibnhibban:3410 – Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman al-Sāmī > Aḥmad b. ʿAbdullāh b. Yūnus > Sufyān al-Thawrī > Abū Isḥāq > Abū al-Aḥwaṣ from his father

[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I passed by a man who did not entertain me nor treat me kindly. Should I retaliate against him?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "No, rather offer him kindness."
