[Machine] I accompanied my companions to the city, intending to migrate. But when we approached the city, they left me behind and traveled on. I experienced severe hunger, then someone who came out from the city passed by me and said, "If you enter one of the walls of the city, you will find fruit." 'Umair said, "So I entered one of the walls of the city and I cut two clusters of dates from its palm tree. The owner of the wall came out with me until he brought me to the Prophet ﷺ and he asked me about my situation. I told him, and he said to me, 'Which of the two is better?' So I pointed to one of them. He commanded me to give it to him, and he commanded the owner of the wall to give me the other one and he let me go on my way."

[Machine] "I accompanied my two masters intending to migrate. When we approached the city, they entered and left me behind. I experienced severe hunger. Some people who were leaving the city passed by me and said, 'If you enter the city, you will find plenty of fruits within its walls.' So, I entered one of the walls and took two handfuls of dates. The owner of the wall caught me and brought me to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and informed him about me. I was wearing two garments. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked me, 'Which one of them is better?' I pointed to one of them, so he said, 'Take it and give the other garment to the owner of the wall.' And he let me go."

[Machine] About Umair, the Mawla (freed slave) of Abu Lahm, Umair was the Mawla of Bani Ghifarah. He said, "I accompanied my masters when we wanted to migrate. When we approached the city, they left me behind and entered the city. I was afflicted with severe hunger. Then, someone from the people of the city passed by me and said, 'If you enter one of the walls of the city, you will find dates there.' So, I entered a wall and found a palm tree, from which I cut two clusters of dates. At that moment, the owner of the wall came out with me until he brought me to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . The Messenger asked me about my situation, and I informed him. He asked, 'Which one is better?' So, I pointed to one of them. He commanded me to take it and ordered the owner of the wall to take the other one, and he let me go."
