[Machine] Al-Qa'nabi narrated that Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah narrated from 'Amr ibn Dinar who narrated from Ibn 'Abbas who said: "Okaz, Majannah, and Dhu al-Majaz were marketplaces during the time of Jahiliyyah. When Islam came, they continued to gather there, but without engaging in sinful activities. So, Allah revealed the verse: 'There is no sin upon you if you seek the bounty of your Lord' in regards to the times of Hajj."

ʿUkaz, Majanna and Dhul-Majaz were marketplaces in the Pre-Islamic period of ignorance. When Islam came, Muslims felt that marketing there might be a sin. So, the Divine Inspiration came: "There is no harm for you to seek the bounty of your Lord (in the seasons of Hajj)." (2.198) Ibn ʿAbbas recited the Verse in this way.

ʿUkaz, Majanna and Dhul-Majaz were markets in the Pre-Islamic period. When the people embraced Islam they considered it a sin to trade there. So, the following Holy Verse came:-- 'There is no harm for you if you seek of the bounty of your Lord (Allah) in the Hajj season." (2.198) Ibn ʿAbbas recited it like this.

ʿUkaz, Mijanna and Dhul-Majaz were markets during the Pre-islamic Period. They (i.e. Muslims) considered it a sin to trade there during the Hajj time (i.e. season), so this Verse was revealed:-- "There is no harm for you if you seek of the Bounty of your Lord during the Hajj season." (2.198)

[Machine] Okaz and Dhul-Majaz were markets that they had during Jahiliya [pre-Islamic era]. When Allah brought Islam, it seemed as if they considered it a sin to engage in trade during Hajj [pilgrimage]. So they asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and the verse "There is no sin upon you if you seek the favor of your Lord" was revealed concerning the Hajj seasons.

[Machine] There were markets in 'Ukaz, Majannah, and Dhul-Majaz during the pre-Islamic era. When Islam came, they were forbidden from engaging in trade there. Allah then revealed the verse: "There is no blame upon you" (Surah Al-Baqarah 198) to seek the bounty of your Lord during the seasons of Hajj.
