"كُنَّا مَعَ رسُولِ الله ﷺ فِى سَرِيَّة فسَمِعْنَا مُنَادِيًا يُنَادِى: الله أَكْبَرُ الله أكْبَرُ؛ فَقَالَ النَّبِىُّ ﷺ : عَلَى الفِطرَةِ، فَقَالَ: أشْهَدُ أنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ الله، قَالَ: خَرجَ مِنَ النّارِ، فَابْتَدَرْنَاهُ، فَإِذَا هُوَ شَابٌّ حَبَشيٌّ يَرْعَى غُنَيْمَةً لَهُ فِى وَادٍ، فَأدْرَكَ صَلاَةَ المَغْرِبِ فَأذَّنَ لنَفْسه ".
That the Prophet ﷺ would not attack except near the time of Fajr, so if he heard the Adhan he would refrain, and if not, then he would attack. So he listened one day and heard a man saying: "Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar," so he said: "Upon the Fitrah." Then he said: "I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah." So he said: "You have departed from the Fire."
كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لاَ يُغِيرُ إِلاَّ عِنْدَ صَلاَةِ الْفَجْرِ فَإِنْ سَمِعَ أَذَانًا أَمْسَكَ وَإِلاَّ أَغَارَ فَاسْتَمَعَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ فَسَمِعَ رَجُلاً يَقُولُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ فَقَالَ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ فَقَالَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ فَقَالَ خَرَجْتَ مِنَ النَّارِ
[AI] "While we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during one of his journeys, we heard a caller calling, 'Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar.' The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said, 'By instinct, I testify that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah.' The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said (afterwards), 'He came out of the Fire.' Then we pursued him and found him to be a man with a walking stick. Prayer caught up with him, and he called out the adhan."

So he said, according to his natural disposition, "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah." Then he said, "I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah." He said, "He who testifies to the truth will be saved from the Fire. Look, you will find him either as a shepherd who is oppressed or as a dog with distemper." So they looked and found him as a shepherd. Prayer approached, so he called for it.

ذِكْرُ إِثْبَاتِ الْفِطْرَةِ لِلْمُؤَذِّنِ بِتَكْبِيرَةٍ وَخُرُوجِهِ مِنَ النَّارِ بِشَهَادَتِهِ لِلَّهِ بِالْوَحْدَانِيَّةِ
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ heard a man while he was walking and saying "Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest". The Prophet ﷺ said, "According to our innate nature (Fitrah)". Then he said, "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah" and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "He is forbidden from Hell". So we rushed to catch up with him, and when the prayer reached him, he called out with it.

ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ الْأَذَانَ إِذَا سُمِعَ فِيَ مَوْضِعٍ مِنْ دُورِ الْحَرْبِ حَرُمَ قِتَالُهُمْ
