TABARANI 21246:
from Ummih Sallāmah b. Maʿqil —
[Machine] His wife said to him, "By Allah, you sell yourself, O Salamah, in debt." So I said, "If Allah has decreed that upon me, then I will bear it." So I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and informed him of my situation. He asked, "Who is the closest relative of the deceased?" They said, "His brother, Abu Al-Yusr ibn 'Amr." So he was summoned and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Set her free, and when you hear of a tenderhearted slave coming to us, come to me and I will compensate you for her." So they set her free, and a delicate slave came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . He called Abu Al-Yusr and said, "Take from this slave a boy for your nephew." So he left and took a weak and sickly boy, leaving the stronger ones behind. I asked, "What prevented you from taking from the stronger ones?" He said, "I feared for them by Allah, concerning my nephew." He did not live long after that. Ibn Ishaq said, "I narrated this Hadith to Rabee'ah ibn 'Abdul Rahman and he said, 'By Allah, 'Umar did not emancipate them except for this Hadith.'"
