The Prophet ﷺ said, "The most sinful person among the Muslims is the one who asked about something which had not been prohibited, but was prohibited because of his asking."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ أَعْظَمَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ جُرْمًا مَنْ سَأَلَ عَنْ شَىْءٍ لَمْ يُحَرَّمْ فَحُرِّمَ مِنْ أَجْلِ مَسْأَلَتِهِ

The greatest sinner amongst the Muslims is one who asked about a thing (from Allah's Apostle) which had not been forbidden for the Muslims and it was forbidden for them because of his persistently asking about it.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ أَعْظَمَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فِي الْمُسْلِمِينَ جُرْمًا مَنْ سَأَلَ عَنْ شَىْءٍ لَمْ يُحَرَّمْ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَحُرِّمَ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنْ أَجْلِ مَسْأَلَتِهِ

أَحْفَظُهُ كَمَا أَحْفَظُ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ الزُّهْرِيُّ عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَعْظَمُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فِي الْمُسْلِمِينَ جُرْمًا مَنْ سَأَلَ عَنْ أَمْرٍ لَمْ يُحَرَّمْ فَحُرِّمَ عَلَى النَّاسِ مِنْ أَجْلِ مَسْأَلَتِهِ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ أَعْظَمَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فِي الْمُسْلِمِينَ جُرْمًا مَنْ سَأَلَ عَنْ أَمْرٍ لَمْ يُحَرَّمْ فَحُرِّمَ عَلَى النَّاسِ مِنْ أَجْلِ مَسْأَلَتِهِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed, among the greatest offenders against the Muslims is a man who asked about something and kept probing into it until a prohibition concerning that thing was revealed because of his question."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: «إِنَّ مِنْ أَكْبَرِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فِي الْمُسْلِمِينَ جُرْمًا، رَجُلًا سَأَلَ عَنْ شَيْءٍ وَنَقَّرَ عَنْهُ حَتَّى أُنْزِلَ فِي ذَلِكَ الشَّيْءِ تَحْرِيمٌ مِنْ أَجْلِ مَسْأَلَتِهِ»
