NASAI-KUBRA 11366:
from Abū Dhar —
[Machine] I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the mosque at sunset when he said, "Do you know where the sun sets?" I said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "It goes and prostrates beneath the Throne of its Lord, and seeks permission to rise again. It will be granted permission and soon it will seek permission, but it will not be granted. It will intercede and request, but when that happens, it will be said to it, 'Return to your place.' That is the meaning of the verse: 'And the sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point.' [Quran 36:38]"
