"عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ: شَكَا أَهْلُ الْكُوفَةِ أَنَّ سَعْدًا لَا يُحْسِنُ أَنْ يُصَلِّىَ فَذَكَرَ عُمَرُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ، فَقَالَ سَعْدٌ: أَمَّا أَنَا فَكُنْتُ أُصَلِّى بِهِمْ صَلَاةَ رَسُولِ الله ﷺ لَا أَخْرِمُ (*) عَنْهَا أَرْكُدُ (* *) في الأُولَيَيْنِ وَأَحْذِفُ (* * *) في الأُخْريَيْن، فَقَالَ عُمَر: ذَاكَ الظَّنُّ بِكَ أَبَا إِسْحَاقَ".

"Some of the peole of Al-Khufah complained about Sa'd to 'Umar. They said: 'By Allah, he does not pray properly.' He said: 'I lead them in prayer as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did, and I do not deviate from that. I take my time in the first two rak'ahs and make the other two shorter.' He (Umar) said: 'That is what I thought about you.'"

[Machine] The people of Kufa complained to Umar about Saad, saying that he does not pray properly. Umar asked Saad about this and he replied, "I pray with them using the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . I bow longer in the first two rak'ahs and shorten it in the last two." Umar told him, "That is your own assumption, O Abu Ishaq."

Umar mentioned this to Sa'd, who responded, "As for the prayer of the Messenger of Allah, I used to pray with him by bowing more in the first two units and less in the last two units." Umar said, "That is your assumption, O Abu Ishaq."
