I said to Ibn 'Umar: Tell me in your own language and then explain it to me in any language because your language is different from our language (about the vessels) in which Allah's Apostle ﷺ has forbidden (us) to drink. He said: Messenger of Allah ﷺ has forbidden (the preparation) of Nabidh in Hantama and that is a pitcher (besmeared with pitch), in gourd and that is pumpkin, in the varnished jar, in hollow stump and in wooden vessels. This Naqir is the wood of date-palm from which the vessel is fashioned out or hollowed out, but he commanded us to prepare Nabidh in waterskins.
[Machine] "Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibit us from using certain vessels? And please explain it to us in our language, as we have a language other than your language." He said, "He prohibited the use of a drinking bowl made from the bark of a tree (hanatam), and he prohibited the use of a small measure (muzaffat) for water, and he prohibited the use of a rattle (dubba) made from bones, and he prohibited the use of a flute (naqir) which is a type of date palm that is tapped and woven." He said, "Then what do you command us to use for drinking?" He said, "Use drinking vessels." Muhammad said, "And he commanded us to spit in the drinking vessels."
[Machine] Tell us about what the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , prohibited us from regarding vessels. Tell us in your language and explain it to us in our language. He prohibited the use of ḥantam, which is a jug, and he prohibited the use of muzaffat, which is a measure. He also prohibited the use of dubbaa, which is a round container, and he prohibited the use of naqeer, which is the top of a palm tree that is plucked and woven.
