We were with the Prophet ﷺ and fresh dates of a palm tree were brought to him. On that he said, "Amongst the trees, there is a tree which resembles a Muslim." I wanted to say that it was the datepalm tree but as I was the youngest of all (of them) I kept quiet. And then the Prophet ﷺ said, "It is the date-palm tree."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِلاَّ حَدِيثًا وَاحِدًا قَالَ كُنَّا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَأُتِيَ بِجُمَّارٍ فَقَالَ إِنَّ مِنَ الشَّجَرِ شَجَرَةً مَثَلُهَا كَمَثَلِ الْمُسْلِمِ فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَقُولَ هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ فَإِذَا أَنَا أَصْغَرُ الْقَوْمِ فَسَكَتُّ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ

I was with the Prophet ﷺ while he was eating fresh dates. He said, "From the trees there is a tree which resembles a faithful believer." I wanted to say that it was the date palm, but I was the youngest among them (so I kept quiet). He added, "It is the date palm."

كُنْتُ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَهْوَ يَأْكُلُ جُمَّارًا فَقَالَ مِنَ الشَّجَرِ شَجَرَةٌ كَالرَّجُلِ الْمُؤْمِنِ فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَقُولَ هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ فَإِذَا أَنَا أَحْدَثُهُمْ قَالَ هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ

While we were sitting with the Prophet, fresh dates were brought to him. The Prophet ﷺ said, "There is a tree among the trees which is as blessed as a Muslim" I thought that it was the date palm tree and intended to say, "It is the date-palm tree, O Messenger of Allah ﷺ!" but I looked behind to see that I was the tenth and youngest of ten men present there, so I kept quiet' Then the Prophet ﷺ said, "It is the datepalm tree."

بَيْنَا نَحْنُ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ جُلُوسٌ إِذْ أُتِيَ بِجُمَّارِ نَخْلَةٍ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِنَّ مِنَ الشَّجَرِ لَمَا بَرَكَتُهُ كَبَرَكَةِ الْمُسْلِمِ فَظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ يَعْنِي النَّخْلَةَ فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَقُولَ هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ الْتَفَتُّ فَإِذَا أَنَا عَاشِرُ عَشَرَةٍ أَنَا أَحْدَثُهُمْ فَسَكَتُّ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ

[AI] About the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a hadith except that he said, "I was with the Prophet ﷺ , and a branch was brought to him and he said, 'From among the trees, there is a tree similar to a Muslim man.' I intended to say, 'It is the date-palm tree,' but then I looked and saw that I was the shortest among the people, so I remained silent." Umar said, "I wish you had said it, and upon me is this."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِحَدِيثٍ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ كُنْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَأُتِيَ بِجُمَّارٍ فَقَالَ «إِنَّ مِنَ الشَّجَرِ شَجَرًا مِثْلَ الرَّجُلِ الْمُسْلِمِ» فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَقُولَ هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ فَنَظَرْتُ فَإِذَا أَنَا أَصْغَرُ الْقَوْمِ فَسَكَتُّ قَالَ عُمَرُ وَدِدْتُ أَنَّكَ قُلْتَ وَعَلَيَّ كَذَا

[AI] "From the Prophetﷺ that there was a hadith that we were with the Prophetﷺ and a date palm tree was brought to him, so he said, 'Indeed, among the trees there is a tree like this, similar to a Muslim man.' I intended to say, 'It is the palm tree,' but then I looked and realized that I am the youngest of the people, so I kept silent. Then the Messenger of Allahﷺ said, 'It is the palm tree.'"

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺإِلَّا حَدِيثًا كُنَّا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَأُتِيَ بِجُمَّارَةٍ فَقَالَ إِنَّ مِنَ الشَّجَرِ شَجَرَةً مَثَلُهَا كَمَثَلِ الرَّجُلِ الْمُسْلِمِ فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَقُولَ هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ فَنَظَرْتُ فَإِذَا أَنَا أَصْغَرُ الْقَوْمِ فَسَكَتُّ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ

[AI] We were sitting with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) when a camel was brought to him. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "There is a blessed tree among the trees, its blessing is similar to that of a Muslim." I thought that it might be the palm tree, then I looked at the people and found that I was the tenth among them and I was the newest among them, so I remained silent. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "It is the palm tree."

كُنَّا جُلُوسًا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذْ أُتِيَ بِجُمَّارٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مِنَ الشَّجَرِ شَجَرَةٌ بَرَكَتُهَا كَالْمُسْلِمِ» قَالَ فَأُرِيتُ أَنَّهَا النَّخْلَةُ ثُمَّ نَظَرْتُ إِلَى الْقَوْمِ فَإِذَا أَنَا عَاشِرُ عَشَرَةٍ وَأَنَا أَحْدَثُ الْقَوْمِ فَسَكَتُّ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ»
