I was with the Prophet ﷺ while he was eating fresh dates. He said, "From the trees there is a tree which resembles a faithful believer." I wanted to say that it was the date palm, but I was the youngest among them (so I kept quiet). He added, "It is the date palm."
كُنْتُ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَهْوَ يَأْكُلُ جُمَّارًا فَقَالَ مِنَ الشَّجَرِ شَجَرَةٌ كَالرَّجُلِ الْمُؤْمِنِ فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَقُولَ هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ فَإِذَا أَنَا أَحْدَثُهُمْ قَالَ هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ
We were with the Prophet ﷺ and fresh dates of a palm tree were brought to him. On that he said, "Amongst the trees, there is a tree which resembles a Muslim." I wanted to say that it was the datepalm tree but as I was the youngest of all (of them) I kept quiet. And then the Prophet ﷺ said, "It is the date-palm tree."
عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِلاَّ حَدِيثًا وَاحِدًا قَالَ كُنَّا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَأُتِيَ بِجُمَّارٍ فَقَالَ إِنَّ مِنَ الشَّجَرِ شَجَرَةً مَثَلُهَا كَمَثَلِ الْمُسْلِمِ فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَقُولَ هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ فَإِذَا أَنَا أَصْغَرُ الْقَوْمِ فَسَكَتُّ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ
[Machine] "From the Prophetﷺ that there was a hadith that we were with the Prophetﷺ and a date palm tree was brought to him, so he said, 'Indeed, among the trees there is a tree like this, similar to a Muslim man.' I intended to say, 'It is the palm tree,' but then I looked and realized that I am the youngest of the people, so I kept silent. Then the Messenger of Allahﷺ said, 'It is the palm tree.'"
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺإِلَّا حَدِيثًا كُنَّا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَأُتِيَ بِجُمَّارَةٍ فَقَالَ إِنَّ مِنَ الشَّجَرِ شَجَرَةً مَثَلُهَا كَمَثَلِ الرَّجُلِ الْمُسْلِمِ فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَقُولَ هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ فَنَظَرْتُ فَإِذَا أَنَا أَصْغَرُ الْقَوْمِ فَسَكَتُّ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ
[Machine] From the Prophet ﷺ he said, "From the trees, a tree is equal to a believer." So I wanted to say that it is the palm tree, then I looked at the faces of the people and found that I am the youngest among them. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It is the palm tree."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مِنَ الشَّجَرِ لَشَجَرَةٌ كَالرَّجُلِ الْمُؤْمِنِ» فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَقُولَ هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ فَنَظَرْتُ فِي وُجُوهِ الْقَوْمِ فَإِذَا أَنَا أَحْدَثُهُمْ سِنًّا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ»
"كُنْتُ عِنْدَ النَّبِىِّ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَأكُلُ جُمَّارًا، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ مِنَ الشَّجَرِ كَالرَّجُلِ الْمُؤْمِنِ، فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَقُولَ: هِىَ النَّخْلَةُ، فَنَظَرْتُ فِى وجُوهِ القَوْمِ فَإِذَا أَنَا أَحْدَثُهُمْ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ الله ﷺ هِىَ النَّخْلَةُ".
