"عَنْ عَلِىٍّ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا تَقَاضَى إِلَيْكَ رَجُلَانِ فَلَا تَقْضِى لِلأَوَّلِ حَتَّى تَسْمَعَ كَلَامَ الآخَرِ، فَسَوْفَ تَرَى كَيْفَ تَقْضِى، قَالَ: فَما زِلْتُ بَعْدُ قَاضِيًا".

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: 'When two men come to you seeking judgement, do not judge for the first until you have heard the statement of the other. Soon you will know how to judge.'" 'Ali said: "I did not err since then."  

Abū ʿĪsá said that this Ḥadīth is Ḥasan.

The Prophet ﷺ said to me. “When two disputants come to you, do not listen to the words of the first one until you have also listened to the words of the other, then you will know how to judge.ʿ And ‘Ali ؓ said: Since then I have continued to be a good judge.
