Collected by Bukhārī, Muslim, Abū Dāwūd, Ibn Mājah, Aḥmad, Nasāʾī's Kubrá, BayhaqīOn the Day of Nahr at Mina, the Prophet ﷺ said, "Tomorrow we shall stay at Khaif Bani Kinana where the pagans had taken the oath of Kufr (heathenism)." He meant (by that place) Al-Muhassab where the Quraish tribe and Bani Kinana concluded a contract against Bani Hashim and Bani ʿAbdul-Muttalib or Bani Al-Muttalib that they would not intermarry with them or deal with them in business until they handed over the Prophet ﷺ to them.
I asked the Prophet ﷺ during his Hajj, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! Where will you stay tomorrow?" He said, "Has ʿAqil left for us any house?" He then added, "Tomorrow we will stay at Khaif Bani Kinana, i.e. Al-Muhassab, where (the Pagans of) Quraish took an oath of Kufr (i.e. to be loyal to heathenism) in that Bani Kinana got allied with Quraish against Bani Hashim on the terms that they would not deal with the members of the is tribe or give them shelter." (Az-Zuhri said, "Khaif means valley.") (See Hadith No. 659, Vol. 2)
Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to us as we were at Mina: We would observe halt tomorrow at-Khaif of Banu Kinanah, where (the polytheists) had taken an oath on unbelief, and that was that the Quraish and Banu Kinanah had, pledged against Banu Hashim and Banu Muttalib that they would neither marry nor do any transaction with them unless they deliver Messenger of Allah (way peace be upon him) to them. And (this pledge was) taken at this (place) Muhassab.
Usamah bin Zaid said I asked Apostle of Allaah ﷺ where will you encamp tomorrow? (This is asked on the occasion of his Hajj). He replied “Did ‘Aqil leave any house for us?” He again said “We shall encamp in the valley (Khaif) of Banu Kinanah where the Quraish took an oath upon disbelief, that is, Al Muhassab.” The oath was that Banu Kinanah concluded a pact with the Quraish against Banu Hashim “they would have no marital relationship with them, nor would give them accommodation nor would have any commercial ties with them.” Al Zuhri said Al Khaif means valley.
I said: Messenger of Allah, where will you stay tomorrow ? This (happened) during his Hajj. He replied: Has 'Aqil left any house for us ? He then said: We shall stay at the valley of Banu Kinarah where the Quraish took an oath on unbelief. This refers to al-Muhassab. The reason is that Banu Kinarah made an alliance with the Quraish against Banu Hashim that they would have no marital connections with them, nor will have commercial transactions with them, not will give them any refuge. Al-Zuhri said: Khalf means valley.
“I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, where will you stay tomorrow?’ That was during his Hajj. He said: ‘Has ‘Aqil left us any house?’ Then he said: ‘Tomorrow we will stay in the valley of Banu Kinanah, Muhassab where the Quraish swore an oath of disbelief.’” That was where the Banu Kinana had sworn an oath with the Quriash against Banu Hashim, that they would not intermarry with them or engage in trade with them. Ma’mar said: “Zuhri said: Khaif means a valley.’”

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Tomorrow, on the day of sacrifice, while we are in Mina, we will go down to Khayf Bani Kinanah, where they divided among themselves for disbelief, meaning for the Muhassab. This is because Quraysh and Kinanah formed an alliance against Banu Hashim and Banu Muttalib, that they would not marry them nor sell to them until they hand over the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to them."

[AI] "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ intended to leave Mina, he said, 'We are going to settle tomorrow, if Allah wills, at the place called Al-Muhasab, in the vicinity of the tribe of Bani Kinanah, where they used to share in acts of disbelief. This is because Quraysh had agreed not to marry or associate with Banu Hashim and Banu Muttalib until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ hands them over.'"

[AI] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said when he wanted to depart from Mina: "We will be staying overnight in Khayf Bani Kinanah, if Allah wills." This means the barren land. This was because Quraysh and Bani Kinanah had made an agreement regarding Banu Hashim and Banu 'Abdul-Muttalib that they should not marry them nor have any dealings with them until the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , is handed over to them.

[AI] I asked, "O Messenger of Allah, where will you stay tomorrow?" And this was during the farewell pilgrimage of the Prophet ﷺ . He replied, "Did Aqil ibn Abi Talib leave anything for us?" Then he said, "We will stay tomorrow at Khayf ibn Kinanah, where Quraysh divided the camels for disbelief."
